Christmas Countdown - 2018

Good morning all.

Yesterday was a nice relaxing day. Not much going on today either, just watching to see if my Browns can beat the Steelers this time.

It is hard to believe that Halloween is in just 3 days! Then it is full on Christmas mode.

It was such a good time in the midst of a horrible situation. We brought him a lemon meringue pie, one of his favorites, and he was actually able to enjoy some, which made me so happy. And, before he woke up, I was able to sneak my mom off to a local store that does a "Christmas Lane" with tons of decorations, lights, music, and trees. I have visited there almost every year since childhood and it is an annual tradition for my mom and I to go. I wasn't sure if she would make it there this year as she can't leave my father alone anymore, but my brother stayed with him so we could go and enjoy. I am just very grateful for the day we all had, as I know those kinds of days won't be here forever. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and gets to enjoy family and friends this weekend in whatever you do!

Good Sunday morning, Christmas friends!

I worked like a dog yesterday, cleaning the yard for Halloween. Bellville has become a mecca for trick-or-treaters, since it's small and homey around here.

This afternoon is the dress rehearsal for Elizabeth's play, and I still have a few more set & prop additions to make, so we're off to church, then a quick meal, then back to work on the play!

Today I am filling in for our friend Crown and I feel honored to do so. With coffee as my sidekick this morning; here we go!

Well, as they say, time is a ticking so here is the countdown as of today;

Days to Christmas Day - 57

And a couple more for fun:

till my Birthday - 15 (LOL!!!)

Did you know in History that today, 89 years ago, was the starting of the Wall Street Crash, as we all know as also Black Monday - Monday October 28, 1929.

And for all of us Chocolate lovers out there, Today is also known as National Chocolate Day! So, remember to indulge today in your favorite chocolates!

It was a nasty day yesterday here in Connecticut, with the Nor'easter going up the East Coast. We didn't lose power, but it did blink a couple times. All day it was rain and wind w/ strong gusts. Today so far, it's cloudy and chilly and that storm is long gone past us.

Morning ... never made it the halloween parade lastnight. Between the weather and me not feeling to good we stayed home. Nor sure if my allergies kicked into over drive or if I am coming down with a cold. Took some cold/allergy meds and I feel pretty good now. Got a batch of ribs on the crock pot and a batch in the oven

Will freeze some ribs into single serve lunch sizes and the rest is for dinner

Heading to a local farm stand after lunch as today is their last day of the year and they have everything marked down.

Good Sunday afternoon! We had melting snow when I left work yesterday, no accumulation, and today it has turned to non-stop rain. I made some Halloween cupcakes with a Lindt chocolate spider to raise money for the social fund at work. I love Lindt chocolates, it took a lot of willpower not to eat it all before the cupcakes were done.

I’m at work, hoping the day goes fast. I was training two new hires this morning and both are Christmas fanatics. Both are done with their Christmas shopping and one of them even put up her tree yesterday! I have to admit that I’m getting more and more excited each day.

Daughters bridal shower is done and it was great fun ! LittleCS did a wonderful job hosting it.

this is Jeannine with all her bridesmaids and flower girls, LittleCS is at the right in the grey shirt

and the hat the girls made for her from the bows off the gifts.
Lots of folks showed up to bless her with many beautiful gifts.

Good afternoon! I’m currently just lying here watching Hallmark and going to try to catch a nap for work tonight. The wedding was beautiful yesterday and we had so much fun! Hope you’re all enjoying your Sunday and are having a great weekend!
