Had our first snow day of the year yesterday (I'm a high school teacher). While snow days are nice, not a week before American Thanksgiving, please! (I'd move from here if we ever had one a week before Canadian Thanksgiving).

We've got around 16-18 inches over the last three days, and it's all staying. Temps not rising above 35F. It looks like late-December here. It's pretty, though, and looks VERY Christmasy.

It helps get one in the spirit of the season driving to work in the morning, listening to the classic Christmas songs on SiriusXM channel 3, and seeing the snow-covered landscape. :)

Have a great Thursday, Christmas Friend-atics!

That’s a lot of snow! Stay safe!

Good late evening! It’s beem snowing all day, since early this am. We’re supposed to get roughly around a foot, but when I left my house at 5, we already had 10 inches.

I’m working tonight, then start my days off tomorrow. I’m so looking forward to it! Hope you’re all well and keeping safe in this weather.

Stay safe yourself. Thanks for the services you provide for those in need, especially during difficult travel conditions like you are experiencing. God bless.

Thanks so much for the kind words! That’s very nice of you. I worry about DH, being out on the roads in the fire truck and fighting fire when it’s this cold. It’s very dangerous, but on the other hand, we both love our jobs and love that we can dedicate ourselves and our lives to others. We’re thankful for people like you who are appreciative of us!

Good Friday morning! It's our first snowfall, everything is white out there. It started overnight and will continue pretty much all day but accumulations will be manageable. Though I'm not a big fan of snow other than at Christmas, this does put me even more in the Christmas mood. At work I find myself singing along to the Christmas music. They've revamped their list, I'm hearing a lot of new and nice Christmas songs. It's my last day before a 9-day vacation and it's going to be a long one, since I didn't get to do much of my own work when I went in early yesterday, due to unforseen circumstances. Stay safe on the roads everyone and have a great day!

Morning MMC! What a night. I left work at 5PM in the snow and to get to my home 7 miles away it took till 10:30PM. I've never seen anything like it. I made the mistake of trying the parkway to get home since I figured my normal backroads would be snow-covered. Unfortunately the traffic where I was driving didn't move...like at all. You'd sit in your car for 30 minutes and not move 2 feet. I've never seen traffic like that and I hope I never do again. Have a great Friday!

Good morning ~
Merry Friday!
We didn’t get much snow yesterday, only 3-6 inches across the island but boy did it make a mess. Driving was treacherous, it took me forever to get home from the hospital. It’s raining this morning and the snow is already melting away. I’m just having my coffee and I am working on a menu plan and grocery list. I have to run a couple of quick errands this morning and then I will be heading to the hospital again to see my father. Hoping he comes home soon. Other than that I will be working on the laundry, I have fallen behind on all of my chores this week. Dinner will be chicken cacciatore over pasta. We’ll just be catching up on some shows later tonight. That’s about it for me. I hope everyone has a nice day and a wonderful weekend ahead!
xx

Good Friday am! Nothing special going on today. I have to work from 2 to 10. My dad took a sick day as he is fed up with his warehouse so Carolina doesn't need to go to my cousin. Other than that it will be a quiet day. I am off tomorrow so Mike and I will finally get to see each other

Update on the 2018 tree for Boston from Nova Scotia:

On December 6, 1917, two ships collided in the Halifax Harbour, causing a devastating explosion which killed nearly 2,000 people and left hundreds more severely injured and homeless.

Nova Scotia will never forget the support Boston provided after the explosion. To say thank you, the province will once again give the people of Boston the gift of a beautiful Christmas tree. For decades, this tradition has honoured the kindness Bostonians offered Nova Scotians in our time of need. This year marks the 101st anniversary of the explosion.

Wow, Edge...you must have been exhausted by the time you got home. I know you were just sitting in the car but that is awful to sit and go nowhere! TGIF and hope you can relax this weekend!

TGIF...another work week done and less than a week until Thanksgiving!!We We got about 5-6 inches of snow and my kids had a delay this morning. We don't have too many plans for the weekend...I need to get our turkey and sides, etc. Such an exciting time of the year, for sure! Hope you all have a great day and weekend!

Good Morning, Fellow Travelers.
And as much fun as it is traveling together during the year to the start of the Season, it's even more fun traveling with each other DURING the Season!

But, there is still business to attend to.....and our counts go on:
Days to Thanksgiving: 6 (UNDER ONE WEEK LEFT!!)
Days to Christmas Day: 39 (Barely over 5 1/2 weeks remain!)
And the 90 percent Home Stretch point to Christmas Day?
Well, that's the day after tomorrow, Folks!

Cold, wet and miserable all day yesterday. Downright nasty.
Today and tomorrow? Well, it's supposed to be sunny and much warmer.
Which is good, because my older niece, Lauren, is getting married here tomorrow!
Our current reading is 40 degrees.

Have a Fabulous Friday, Friends.
And a Way-Out Weekend Eve as well.
Keep enjoying the Season!

Thank you for recounting the story of why Boston's Christmas tree comes from Nova Scotia. It's what Christmas is all about: a helping hand and the sincere gratitude that follows.

I'm glad you got home safe! I saw stories of people who didn't get home til after midnight from all this mess.

Have a great day! Continuing prayers for your father

My drive home was literally the worst I’ve ever had. The snow was packed down and not cleared well (I know they are working hard to do so), now it’s getting icy and blowing hard. I felt like i was driving on railroad tracks.

Good morning! Glad to be home. That was a scary drive. Anyway, not much planned for today. I’m currently drinking a cup of coffee and reading the boards. DH starts his string of 4 days off and school was canceled. We got roughly 13 inches here. The kids will play outside a lot today. We plans on pizza, popcorn, and Christmas movies tonight.

I hope you all have a great Friday and a safe one as well!

Enjoy your time off!
Thank you!
