Good Tuesday morning, Christmas friends!

Mom and I got home from our trip to the mountains yesterday afternoon. Jacob's band is touring around GA, SC & FL this week, so he's away, Elizabeth went out with her friends, and Nancy was in Atlanta shopping with her sister...so Lulu and I were home alone for hours. I finally got up on the roof and cleaned out the gutters, then fished leaves out of the pool till dark. I got some Taco Bell, then fell asleep on the sofa. Nancy finally came home around 9:30. So happy to see her!

Today is our 24th anniversary, and Elizabeth's 18th birthday!!

Sick at home today ... missed office Thanksgiving. Just getting some rest and hoping I'll be up to stringing lights tomorrow.

I will not be putting cards in mail till this is over as i am afraid it will get lost. Will try to make a run to Port Huron and mail them there.

Well it’s been a crazy couple days around here but I think I’ve got things under control now. I even knocked out some thanksgiving prep this morning. Which is good because mom has a couple more appointments tomorrow. So I won’t have a lot time tomorrow to get ready. It also doesn’t help that I’m making enough food for like 20 people when there’s only going to be 3. Bring on the leftovers!!

Made, you and me, oh yea, I'm right there with ya buddy! There's nothing better like leftovers, except for Thanksgiving leftovers for the following week!!!

Thanks for all the well-wishes. I still feel under the weather, but I’ll make it to work tomorrow. Mr. is fine, and we should have a report from the adjuster and the repair shop at the end of the week. Till then, we’ll just have to be patient and not think about it over Thanksgiving.

Good to all of that! Except, for that I hope your feeling better right away. There you go, I like the way your thinking; enjoy your Thanksgiving!

The family arrives this evening for Thanksgiving weekend. Our household population will rise from two bi - peds to eight. The ancient kitty loves it, but breathes more easily when things get back to normal after 1:00 Sunday afternoon.

Good Wednesday morning, Christmas friends!

Our plant is working furiously, trying to shut down by 12:30. We're cooking steaks for the guys, then leaving early for the long Thanksgiving weekend!

We took Elizabeth out to one of those brick oven pizza places for her birthday, along with a few of her friends and our family. It was pretty good, but I'm a simple pizza guy. Little Caesar's and a bottle of hot sauce works for me. Anyway, we had a good dinner, then walked down to an ice cream parlor. A great evening!

Boy, that all sounds really good to me. Man, I love pizza, it's gotta be one of my most favorite things to eat by far. And there's nothing like a plain cheese pizza, cooked well done, crispy edges, golden brown cheese on top....Yum, Yum, Yum!

Ah, the day before the day....

I'm sure everyone has plenty to do today. I do, also. However, I have a big cup of coffee that needs to dealt with first, along with some Christmas friends that I needed to visit!

What a day it is going to be! The girls and I are going to do a little shopping....I plan on letting them pick out an inflatable...I have to go buy a book, and I have two items I forgot to get at Walmart. After that quick trip, we will return home and begin doing some cooking. I've got my DVR set for a couple of shows tonight (Charlie Brown being one of them) and I'm looking forward to this evening.

I hope you have a great day. We are in the middle of our favorite time of year and are approaching a holiday that we all love. Enjoy the moment, friends.

Good morning MMC! I have - actually ZERO time - but I wanted to pop in to say Hello & wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving!!

I haven't had a chance to catch up by any means but I have seen a lot of prayers from you all being sent our way & I want to say THANK YOU!!!

It sure doesn't feel like Thanksgiving! It's just been too busy!! But we will all be together at moms & celebrate her life & enjoy the day!!

If I don't make it back before then, I hope you all have a very blessed Thanksgiving!!!

PS - I have 1 tree up - I put it up the day Mom passed. It brought me peace!

My son and have been Cap's fans for years.... Hockey is my favorite, followed by soccer and baseball.
I've given up on football, too much grandstanding, to much drama, to much whining and crying, too much being politically correct and too much politics in it.

I figured you were a Caps fan. Blah...lol

Happy Thanksgiving eve everyone! It's so exciting isn't to be so close to Thanksgiving! I'm also so excited with anticipation of watching Charlie Brown's Thanksgiving tonight @ 8pm on ABC too. I love watching that every year.

Thanksgiving day plans for us, we will be heading over to my in-laws for Thanksgiving tomorrow with many of my wife's extended family there also, should be a fun time! My mother-in-law is a fantastic cook. But, I have to confess, I still miss my grandmothers dressing and gravy at Thanksgiving. One year, I'm going to try and re-create it once more and see if I can bring the past back to life to my taste buds.

This weekend, we will be starting the process of going thru all the Christmas decorations that I have, in boxes and bags, in the garage. Why? Well, that's because it's mostly from my previous life (with my ex wife and with my children) and the new wife does not want certain things to be in the house period. Unless they have a direct relation or specific memory to my children. I know that I will have to part with some things, and it will be hard to do so, but I also know that it has to happen. It's the right thing to do.

This is going to be tough one because this will be touching both of our hearts in different ways.

All kidding aside ... my Thanksgiving weekend is so full that this is really the only good chance I'll get to put those lights on before the middle of December ... and I'm NOT waiting until then to enjoy a lighted tree, even if the ornaments aren't on it yet!

Seeing lights on a tree again is such a beautiful sight, I've gotten teary a couple times. Taking a brief break to check in on the forums, but I'll get back to it now.

It's funny, because up here in Connecticut, your either a Yankees fan or a Red Sox fan. So sometimes when we will go out, she has her Yankees cap on and I'll have my Orioles cap on. We get a good laugh at it.
