Christmas Countdown - 2018

HoHoHello my merry chums

On Tuesday, I get to connect with my brother from Ottawa whom I haven't seen since the celebration of life for my mom. We only exchanged birthday greetings via text on our cell phones, and ones via a message on FB.

I am so pleased that my dad has decided to decorate for Christmas. He's setting up the tree today and decorating the mantel; he wasn't sure about the outdoor lights, but knowing my other brother is coming for Christmas, he is hoping to do it all, including lighting the annual luminaries. He also realized, in chatting with my brother, that it wasn't fair to me to cancel Christmas so we are exchanging one gift each to keep things somewhat traditional.

O'Malley is already getting curious about the rattling of bags making their way in here and keeps hoping there are treats for him, but they are gifts for children of co-workers and a ton for the local Crisis Centre; items for different ages.

I am wrapping gifts today and delivering festive chocolates and cookies (next Saturday) to the various teams that keep our community safe and give up their time with family through their choice of profession as officers, paramedics, firefighters, addiction and rehab councilors, etc.

I am committed to making this an extra special Christmas and I know my mom would be pleased that I'm giving some of her jewelry away as well to a co-worker with teenage daughters who is struggling a bit financially.

Morning MMC! Yesterday was a busy one. Tis the season for that. Lots of prep work for the big day(s). Some more today with another trip to the store(s) and then off to my Uncle's for dinner. My brother will arrive some time on Saturday from San Diego like usual. It is starting to feel all too real in the best possible way. Have a great day!

Happy week before Christmas, MMC!!! Wait what? One week to go? Ahhhh!!! There’s still to much to do!!! Someone hit the pause button!! I’ve got to get the gifts mailed to my niece and nephew in Seattle today. Then I need to go get some more baking supplies. I hope everyone has a great day!!!!

Good morning MMC!!! "Merry" Monday!! Mercy those weekends go FAST!

I hope you all had a good one!!! I was able to spend 2 days in a row with my bestie, so it was great! Lots of cookies cut out, baked & icing'd! And I'm happy to report my house is now (almost) fully decorated. It's toned down a bit, but most things are up & I'm very happy about that!


My SIL offered to make the smokehouse spaghetti for this years Christmas Eve & I can't deny I was a little taken back by that. My sis & I ALWAYS make the Christmas Eve spaghetti!! And we have Moms recipe VERY tweaked!!! SO, I offered to help her & she was very happy accept the offer. I am going to buy a lot of the ingredients & go over to their house on Christmas Eve morning & we are going to have mimosa's & make the sghetti! Now I'm looking forward to it. She's inviting anyone who wants to help! Should be a fun morning!

Man the grocery store was a mad house this morning. Everyone must have Christmas parties and baking to do this weekend.

Mom has caught the flu from my niece it seems. I’m coughing a little but hopefully won’t get as bad as her.

So I’m going to make some sugar cookies while I can.

Good Monday morning, Christmas friends!

It was a busy weekend around here, and a wet one. We spent most of it shopping, although Nancy worked all afternoon yesterday. She's an accountant, and the government has a December 15 deadline, too. Grrr.

I just got back from the car body shop. We dropped off Jacob's car to be repaired for his fender-bender a couple weeks ago. I left him my truck, and got mom to bring me back to work. Now I have borrow Bernie's spare truck for a couple weeks. Grrr.

Anyway, I have a week full of Christmas parties and more shopping, so bring it on!

I did the pretzels with the kisses andthe m and ms this morning with Carolina and we just did another batch. Tomorrow we are doing the pretzels with the rolos and pecans after work

Good Morning, MMC!!! I’ve already been out getting more meds for me and mom. I finally stopped by Hobby Lobby too and spring seems to have broken out there. Aisles and Aisles of Christmas are gone. The Christmas trees are down. All that’s left is some wrapping paper and paper plates. It was pretty sad. I hope everyone has a great weekend!!

Well hello everyone!

I promise I did not disappear, I have just been busy. I hope everyone is enjoying the Christmas season.

Though I have been busy, part of that busy has been enjoying family Christmas activities. I am still having a hard time believing how close Christmas day is!

Here is Ohio it looks like we are going to have a warmish week leading up to Christmas. The weather folk are saying that it will cool down right before Christmas and snow might show up just a little too late for Christmas. I am hoping the snow arrives a couple of days earlier than they are expecting.

Good morning! I'm sorry I haven't been around much lately - this is the time of the year that is most exciting and it's so hard to stop in. I've been so busy doing Christmas things and spending time with family, which matters most.

Today we're baking cookies, making candy, and snack mixes. I'm really looking forward to spending the time with DH and the kids. I have a cookie exchange coming up this week at my house, so I've gotta get them done.

Sounds like Christmas at our house. The family will arrive Friday evening and leave Wednesday morning. We're talking about the grown sibs, spouse, and three grandvarmints running around the house all day/evening. It is huge fun.

That having been said, my brilliant bride and I have OUR Christmas spread out over the following two weekends. It is decidedly lower energy and volume, but an equally big, if different, blast. That's a three weekend celebration...

Hello all.

Not an exciting day overall. A little car trouble this morning, but otherwise the day has been fine. We start exams at the high school tomorrow. This means I will sit there and be bored or grade all day for the next three days. Oh well, that means I can enjoy Christmas movies and family at home in the evening.

I wish the weather would turn cold, but it is looking like the 40s and rain instead of snow through Christmas.
