I went out to give my car a final try before trying to get help to release me from the snow trap. When I was unplugging the cord to the block heater, my keys slipped out of my gloves. NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE - I don't drop things.

I was searching for them and discovered a whole near the cedar hedge - mouse or mice most likely. Finally manipulated my body in an Olympic gymnastic fashion and snatched my keys from Mickey.

As I was securing my cord to my license plate (so it doesn't drag on the ground), I heard the tiniest squeaking sound; naturally I apologized for disturbing their brunch and asked that they keep living where they are and don't crawl into my engine and eat through my glove compartment.

I was reluctant initially to ask for help from the neighbours 'cause if they said, "No", I would have felt ridiculous for asking, as it turned out, his wife Sharon sounded a bit annoyed that I didn't ask sooner.

Euerka!!! Good ol' George came through for me. Well, he didn't get the snow blower out; the build up was too hard. He and his wife Sharon have a rental place next to their house and Dan saw what was going on and came to assist. They towed my car out with a rope and Sharon's big GMC so I could run all my errands, etc. George said, I could park my vehicle in his tenants parking until the city crew came by to clear out my spot.

When George lost his best buddy, a beautiful Golden Retriever (almost white) - Duke - about ten years ago, I placed a sympathy card in their mailbox and we've been a bit chatty ever since. I also helped them with their grandson when he was about 11 and going through a rough patch in his traumatic life and they took a liking to me because of the positive impact. Found out their grandson is joining the Ontario Provincial Police; I can't take credit for how he turned out, but pleased that he learned to manage his anger and appreciate the softer slice of life.

I realized I couldn't offer them money for helping me out, that would have been an insult so I picked up blank thank you cards for them and Dan.

I got my Mojo Workin' (I call my car Mojo).
Felt good to be out driving with my tunes again.

I'm pretty jolly now, if I wasn't when I started out. -surprise-

Good afternoon, everyone! The snow is on it's way here as way. We're predicted to get about 4 inches as well. We had plans for this evening, but have canceled. I don't want my parents to be on the roads and I really don't want to be either.

We're headed out shortly here to look at two new vehicles. Up until about 10 pm last night, I didn't even know that was in our cards for another for years. DH has been doing some major money crunching the last couple of months, which I have talked about over the last couple of days with our cable, plus with our insurance (car, house, life, etc) - just with our cable/internet and our insurance bills we are saving over $200 a month. Plus, we are looking at other stuff that we truly barely ever use like Sirius Radio, because with our cars having bluetooth, the phone connects automatically to the car when it starts and connects the music, stuff like that. Anyway, our BIL is a car salesman and DH has been wanting a truck. I guess they have been talking (news to me) and he can lease him a truck for 3 years, get a 2019, with a lower payment than the 2015 GMC Terrain that he has now, which is SUV. Then, I have 2016 GMC Honda Pilot, which we just bought a year, but overpaid for it and took out a bigger loan than we wanted to, but REALLY want the car and really thought we need a 3rd row vehicle because the kids were getting bigger again and new we wanted to get a another dog again. Turns out, we don't and we want to get this car paid off and get out of this loan. Acura, which is also made by Honda, just the higher end, has the smaller size of this vehicle, has half the miles of my car, but the same year, which I am okay with and we'll get a smaller year loan and probably pay better or just a little more, which I am okay with too for mine. It's a total win, win and I am game. My vehicle is a different place than where my BIL works, so it sounds like we're going to get mine total, since mine is pre-owened, so it doesn't get sold, then go get DH on Monday, but again, I totally wasn't expecting to be doing any of this today, but again, anything to save money!

Hope you're all having a great day and stay safe if you're being affected by the weather!

My neighbour, George suggested my next vehicle be a SUV or at least a 4-wheel drive (I didn't dare tell him I didn't have snow tires on my Hyundai GT).
It's always fun taking cars for a test drive.

The snow is still coming down nicely. We are probably up to 4 inches or a little more now.

I will go out and measure the snow later, but I am enjoying just sitting here in my PJs watching it fall!

:snowball:brr-reindeer-

I remember saying in the old countdown thread that I wasn't going to complain about all the snow we get here 'cause some of you hardly ever see it; so I want to appreciate it for you. I'm done with that now. Just too long, too cold and wah-wah-wah.

I am delighted for those of you who have been missing the fluffy stuff to finally get to enjoy it. I admit that when the first few fluffy snowfalls occur, I'm as excited as children hoping to build a snowman or snow fort. Things would be different if I participated in outdoor recreation like downhill skiing or snowmobiling - even ice fishing, but I don't so I tire of it.

Here's a little tune for the newly anointed snowy-town-chums.

Mulled it over for a few months; finally got my flu shot today. I'm not one to pick up viruses very easily, but that doesn't mean I can't get a touch of it, not feel sick and pass it along to someone else. My husband had to get an extra special dose because he is more at risk for becoming hospitalized if he caught the big nasty flu.

Hope all of you and your loved ones who are suffering from various "bugs" get over it quick and feel WHOLE again.

Here's a little something to make you feel better - or not.

Happy Saturday!

I got knocked flat by a cold on Thursday and haven't been up to much of anything since then. I'm just getting caught up with emails and the forum today, plus some other business that I put aside. Yesterday I was a useless lump of cold germs, but I think I'm turning the corner today.

So many folks here with illnesses and depression and anxiety ... I don't always say so, but you are always in my thoughts and prayers. I hope things improve for everyone soon.

We're outside the path of the snowstorm, so it's cold and sunny today here. I'll be relaxing and trying to get this cold to go away.

Sending get well wishes!
xx

Glad they were there to help and lend a hand - it's always nice when people are able to give each other a helping hand! Thats so nice!

I think George is right! I've had 4-wheel and AWD. I like AWD better and that's what I've had for my last few vehicles, but I can tell you for sure, both do so much better in the snow.

We are up to almost 7 inches of snow now with it still coming down. Should be 8 or maybe 9 inches by morning! I am loving watching the snow. Tomorrow I will start digging the cars out, but it was pointless today.

Henry enjoyed playing in the snow earlier today and I am sure he will be back out in it tomorrow.

I hope you start to feel better soon!
Glad to hear they are feeling better, but pray you soon start coming a long.
Thanks! I started feeling better at work. I hope it continues
Praying you are better soon and that work will not be rough! I'm glad that Mike and Carolina are better! xx
Thank you!

I just got home from work and its snowing. It wasnt sticking to the roads too much at this point. I work tomorrow so I am hoping that is still the case. We were in the 1 to 3 inch range and last I heard we could get up to 5.
I'm kind of glad the Chiefs won but feel bad for the Colts fans. I am hoping the Patriots can thrive in their home stadium. Carolina says the Chargers may not show up since it will be soo cold

Good Sunday morning! A little less cold this morning but still well under the freezing point. Loki is peacefully sleeping on the edge of my blanket next to me, there’s so much comfort in that. It’s almost 7am but still pitch dark outside, I don’t feek like getting the day started. It’ll be laundry and housecleaning this morning and some binge watching later on. Enjoy your day everyone!

I was up until 11:30 watching a movie and we overslept and didn't get out of bed until 7:00. O'Malley was in the hallway near our door, but never made a peep. So much more patience than he used to have.

Having some java and procrastinating cleaning the bathroom, but looking forward to doing some cooking.
I'm kind of like this guy when I'm cooking. HaHa.
