I went out to give my car a final try before trying to get help to release me from the snow trap. When I was unplugging the cord to the block heater, my keys slipped out of my gloves. NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE - I don't drop things.

I was searching for them and discovered a whole near the cedar hedge - mouse or mice most likely. Finally manipulated my body in an Olympic gymnastic fashion and snatched my keys from Mickey.

As I was securing my cord to my license plate (so it doesn't drag on the ground), I heard the tiniest squeaking sound; naturally I apologized for disturbing their brunch and asked that they keep living where they are and don't crawl into my engine and eat through my glove compartment.

I was reluctant initially to ask for help from the neighbours 'cause if they said, "No", I would have felt ridiculous for asking, as it turned out, his wife Sharon sounded a bit annoyed that I didn't ask sooner.

Euerka!!! Good ol' George came through for me. Well, he didn't get the snow blower out; the build up was too hard. He and his wife Sharon have a rental place next to their house and Dan saw what was going on and came to assist. They towed my car out with a rope and Sharon's big GMC so I could run all my errands, etc. George said, I could park my vehicle in his tenants parking until the city crew came by to clear out my spot.

When George lost his best buddy, a beautiful Golden Retriever (almost white) - Duke - about ten years ago, I placed a sympathy card in their mailbox and we've been a bit chatty ever since. I also helped them with their grandson when he was about 11 and going through a rough patch in his traumatic life and they took a liking to me because of the positive impact. Found out their grandson is joining the Ontario Provincial Police; I can't take credit for how he turned out, but pleased that he learned to manage his anger and appreciate the softer slice of life.

I realized I couldn't offer them money for helping me out, that would have been an insult so I picked up blank thank you cards for them and Dan.

I got my Mojo Workin' (I call my car Mojo).
Felt good to be out driving with my tunes again.

I'm pretty jolly now, if I wasn't when I started out. -surprise-
It's great to have great neighbors!! I'm glad you were able to get your vehicle out!!!

We are up to about 5.5 inches of snow now and it is still coming down and will for a couple more hours before tapering down to just snow showers.
This is our biggest snow in a single day in about 4 years!
And wasn't it GREAT????
-sing--gift-

I came across some pictures from "last year on this day" - one was of my Mom looking out the patio door, watching it snow. Another was mom looking out the door, with Lucy on the other side of the door (outside.) And another was of her front yard - everything was white! Jan. 12th much be a good snow day?! But I'm sure it wasn't as much as we had yesterday. So fun!!!

In the meadow we can build a snowman. (Or watch the neighbor kids do it)

I so want to put my Christmas decorations back out.
Right or wrong, I'm still enjoying my decorations! :) Hope you are having a great day!

I did all the steps except for the final rise after the rolls have been cut and placed in the pan. I put the pan in the fridge last night and I have them rising now so I can bake them :)

Morning ... Currently snowing here and it looks so pretty. Got homemade cinnamon rolls rising and a full pot of coffee ready. Going to try a new bread recipe today along with making a pot of chicken noodle soup and a pot of chicken corn chowder soup for dinner. Have a great day
I can smell your kitchen from here! ;) I'm sure the cinnamon rolls were a big hit. Yum!! I was just thinking this morning about Moms birthday brunch. We always had a brunch for her b-day, which is Feb. 1st & it was one of my favorite meals of the year!!! I always made cinnamon rolls & sausage bread for it. Just b/c Mom is no longer here with us, doesn't mean we can't celebrate her birthday with brunch, right??? :) I may have to suggest that. YUM!! We normally did it on Superbowl Sunday.
Have a great day Minta. Enjoy all your cooking/baking today!!!

Happy Sunday! We had a great time with my cousin and her family last night. Bowling was fun and then we went to 99 for dinner.
Not too much planned today..my daughter has a softball clinic later.
They are saying we could get a big snowstorm next weekend but who knows...still a week away! Hope you all have a great day!
I'm glad you had a great time with family!! Enjoy your day!! (Bring on the snowstorm ~ but keep everyone safe!!! xx)

Merry Sunday MMC!
Not too much going on here this morning, I’m just having my coffee and I’m working on the laundry. My daughter and her husband are flying home from Aruba today. I missed them, I can’t wait to see them and catch up. I’m going to make lasagna for dinner. That’s about it for me. I hope everyone is well and has a nice day!
xx
Safe travels to the newlyweds!!! Have a great day HMG!

Happy Sunday! Seems almost everyone got snow but us! It stayed to our south. I think D.C. and Maryland are getting the snow today.

Oh no! I hope you are feeling better today!!! xx
Thank you!
The symptoms are backing off a bit, but I'm feeling the fatigue. I have to get back to work tomorrow, though! So I'm going to take it easy today.

It was beautiful yesterday!!! It's pretty to look outside today, but I do miss watching the snow coming down!! Have you seen the forecast for next weekend???
:jump:march::snowball:snowhappy:shiver

Yes, the forecast next week is interesting. It is a similar storm system to this one. One of the forecast models (the Canadian model) is showing 13 inches for Miami County! The GFS model is showing a smaller snow fall and the whole storm moving a little more north so you would end up with around 5 or so. The CFS model is showing less snow altogether at this point.

It is still too early to really tell, but what is for sure is that a massive storm will be arriving sometime between Friday night and Sunday. Too many variables to determine much yet, but it is fun to think about what "might" happen. I just wish the timing was right to cause a school snow day! :D

Yesterday was a record for Dayton for January 12. Dayton officially reported 6.1 inches of snow, though a lot of unofficial reports were closer to 7 inches. I think the biggest band of snow happened to fall from Greenville through Troy.
South of Dayton got some extra snow this morning but it did not move north enough to hit me in Troy.

My wife and I just back inside from shoveling snow and cleaning off the cars. It was fun to be out and "play" in the snow. It was a thick, wet snow for sure. We are suppose to warm up over the next couple of days but not enough to melt everything. If all goes well we will get another big snow next weekend and then persistent cold temperatures. That will keep the ground nice and snowy for a while!

Well, time to get some school work done and get ready for the Chargers/ Patriots game. Go Chargers!

Good Morning, Guys!

Part two of 2019 weekend two.
The year is advancing relentlessly.
And of course, the count is as well.

Our numbers for the day:
Days to the Season: 304
Days to Christmas Day: 346
And can we really be down to barely over HALF A WEEK to the 300-day mark in our Season count?
So far so soon!

Cold and wet, but not icy.
That's the succinct summary of our current weather situation.
We are shown at a 100 percent chance of rain today, but JUST rain.
This second half of our NFL playoff weekend has begun here in the capital city at 35 degrees, with a light rain falling.

Have a Super Sunday, Folks.
And best of luck to the four pro teams playing this afternoon!
Thanks Crown! Big week coming up withe the 300 marker!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend Crown! We are presently close to 11° and knee deep in snow.

Vegetable pasta done - enough for a few lunches for me to bring to work and for my husband to warm up when I'm not here.

Tonight we're having French Grilled Cheese and Zucchini Fries for dinner.

I had a dream about my mom last night. It was good to see her and hear her; she was about 12 years younger than she was when she passed away.

It was an odd dream, we were trying to catch a flight at an airport. My dad and brother were both far ahead (other brother wasn't in the dream). I only saw the back of my brother never his face and only heard his voice once call out, "Hurry! Hurry, we'll be late!" My mom was behind me and I kept slowing down for her, but she was window shopping along the way. I was filling up a huge bowl with a variety of ice cream from a selection to my left and on the right was a bunch of antiques and thrift store stuff. As we were catching up to my impatient father and brother, I heard the Louis Prima song Pennies From Heaven playing over the speakers.
I woke up when I was trying to put a pair of sunglasses back that I stole from the flea market 'cause the sun from the skylight was giving me a migraine; the blinding light woke me up.

I have unusual dreams most of the time and in full colour and I can even smells and hear things and now and then taste food.

Lots of songs from our old 8-tracks are roaming through my mind now.

Keep a merry thought in your head and may all your dreams and memories, be pleasant in their nature.

Seems like almost everyone got snow! I heard we may get snow next weekend.. I sure hope so.
I know next week will be a very busy week at the office, so today I’m relaxing as much as possible.. doing a pretty good job so far :D

Glad to hear your symptoms are backing off. Praying by tomorrow you'll be 100%! (I don't even want to think about tomorrow....yet!)

Lets hope for a good ol snow storm next weekend - one where everyone stays safe & enjoys the snow!!! :)
I'm really not sure how many inches we got here, but it snowed hard alllll day & it was wonderful!!! Everything is white & I'm lovin it!
One of my bosses lives in the Greenville/Ansonia area - I will have to ask him tomorrow how much snow they had in comparison to us here. Although - he has been in Brown County, IN all weekend - hopefully they have safe travels home!!
