Christmas Countdown - 2019

Good Morning, Season Stalkers!

And as we stalk, we look for clues along the way. Indicators as to just how far off our quarry is. The next one will be revealed after the latest numbers are released and digested:
Days to the Season: 266
Days to Christmas Day: 308

And our next Milestone "indicator"?
Well, of course by now you must be aware that it is the 300-Day Christmas Day Window, currently lurking a mere 8 days ahead.
ONE WEEK from tomorrow, Guys!

Mother Nature spoke yesterday and her message was clear: "Do not make the mistake of thinking that winter is over!"
Our high was in the mid-40's with a cloud cover. Today our high is predicted at 42 before a nice warm-up commences tomorrow.
Our current reading is 35 degrees here after an overnight rain.

Come one, come all to the 'Pines this evening for yet another of Carl's mid-week open houses.
As always, after a holiday open house, the 'Pines is overstocked on holiday-themed fired twinkies. In this case, great deals can be had on left-over red and white frosted ones from Valentine's day.
The entertainment will still retain a winter theme but our friendly activities director has exciting plans for the upcoming spring!

Good morning ... kids and I are off today for a snow day. Snow should be starting any minute now and then it is expected to switch over to sleet and freezing rain this afternoon before changing to all rain this evening. Plan today is to make cookies and hot chocolate this afternoon and soup for dinner and sneak in a movie to 2 :)

If there's an intense storm, it could happen. What's really freaky is "thundersnow"---thunder and lightning during a heavy band of snow.
 
Good Wednesday afternoon, Christmas friends!

It's been another overcast day, but it's a little warmer. I still don't see how it's going to 85°F here by Friday, but we'll see.

The roofer finally showed up, and I hope we're the owners of a new roof by the end of Saturday.

And I hope y'all have a great day! :D
 
Happy Thursday MMC! We had a few inches of snow and then some ice on top. But today it should turn out to be mostly sunny and reach 50 degrees! That will melt a lot of it and also feel like early spring. Rollins and I still got to the park yesterday after work even though it was snowing. That's dedication. He actually had fun in it. Tons to do at work but as I tell myself I am only 1 person doing 500 things lol. Have a great day!

Whoo Hoo!

Let's look at the ledger today:
Days to the Season: 265
Days to Christmas Day: 307

And 'tis so true. In a scant SEVEN days, we will be entering a 200's level count to Christmas day to join the 200's numbers we have been counting down with toward the Season for quite some time now.
(It's still February and already the year is starting to slip away from us!)

It was quite chilly and damp all day yesterday, with a morning drizzle.
Today should be much warmer (about 60) but the rain could stay with us.
This day-after-'Pines-Day has commenced here in central NC at 41 very wet degrees.

It's funny but I grew up a big wrestling fan. I don't watch much anymore (I don't think it's that good as it was when I was growing up and I also don't have much time to follow it) but there is a wrestler named Seth Rollins. He's athletic and sometimes has played the character of a "trouble maker." And it was one name that just stuck out when I saw him. I had a few other options I thought of but the name "Rollins" just seemed to fit him.

It's been very busy here at work lately. It's great for business, but in an outdoor production environment, it can also cause frayed nerves. We actually need to work some Saturdays to keep up with demand, but five LONG days are enough. I'm glad our new boss understands that. He's a good man.

My brother and I are taking our mom to meet with a surgeon tomorrow to discuss her recent breast cancer diagnosis. We're all confident that this can be treated quickly and that she'll be completely healed. As always, prayers are coveted and appreciated.

Now I have to catch-up on some work that I've let slip through the cracks. I hope y'all have a great day! :D
 
Also, the temperatures aren't going to be as warm as they earlier predicted, thank goodness! I'd hate for summer to come too early.

Good Thrusday morning! We had some snow overnight and as usual the guy who plows our appartment complex' parking lot hasn't come yet, so I can't go out and do some much-needed grocery shopping. David is doing better every day and has even managed to start sleeping a few hours a night on the bed with his shoulder/arm propped up. He needs his sleep so I'm sleeping on the couch so he has enough space on the bed, which means I'm not exactly sleeping well myself. At least for now while on vacation I can take a nap during the day when I need to. Hope everyone is doing well and will enjoy a great day!
