Good Tuesday morning! It feels
like I didn’t sleep at all last night, even though I did, but I kept tossing and turning. It will be a gorgeous sunny day with temperatures on the rise. In fact they predict highs above the freezing point for the rest of the week. David had his three-week-post-surgery checkup with his surgeon yesterday and everything is fine and he is thrilled that he can finally take his sling off. He has his first physio appointment today, it will be interesting to see how he feels afterwards. Hope you all enjoy a great day ahead!

That's great news.

Good Tuesday morning, Christmas friends!

I had a nice, uneventful afternoon yesterday. It was really nice.

I'll be out tomorrow, going to see Elizabeth compete at state competition.

Thursday is mama's surgery, so I'll be out then, too.

I hope y'all have a great day! :D

Tossing a prayer up for you mom.

Think I’ll celebrate with a drink. Hmmmmmm what to have . Hmmmmmmm

Why not celebrate with a little LOVE; Darlene that is - Darlene on Letterman - for old type sake ...

Good Monday morning, Christmas friends!

What an eventful weekend we had!
  • Friday, Elizabeth won first place in region Girl's Solo Singing, first in region Duet Interpretation (acting), and second in region Girl's Trio Singing, so now we're off to state competition this Wednesday.
  • Friday night, Jacob's University Singers had a wonderful concert that we attended at his university.
  • Saturday, Elizabeth's dance group won the region for a national dance competition, and Sunday they did almost as well!
I'm so proud of my kids!!

Now for the bad.

I got a call Friday night from the Sheriff's Dept. in Maggie Valley, NC (where my mom has a vacation home). Some neighbors noticed some people going into mom's house and called the police, who apprehended them. They had obviously been staying there for a few days, and had TRASHED the place; food on the floor and in the beds, dirty clothes and underwear all over the place, cigarette butts all over and cigarette-burned carpeting, etc.:mad::mad: They had hung blankets over the windows so no one could see the lights on. They damaged the back door breaking in, too.

I drove the 5.5 hours up there Saturday morning, 9mm on my side, bleached the entire place, and threw out all of their belonging and all of our bed sheets, pillows, etc. I also found knives and drugs. The police had overlooked these. I called the sheriff's office to see what to do with the drugs, and they said to just throw them out! o_O It took me six hours to clean the place, then 5.5 hours back home. Then the time changed.

It's not a big, fancy log cabin, it's just a single-wide mobile home on a 1/2 acre cow pasture lot, but we've loved it for almost 15 years, and we keep it spotless. Now it smells like cigarettes and crack-head.:mad:

We have a contractor making some repairs this week, then I'm going up to install an alarm system. I've tried to pray for their conversion, but, honestly, I'm just too angry.

Anyway, here's hoping the rest of my week is better. The kids are having a great week LOL!

I hope y'all have a great day! :)

Exciting with all the goings-on with the children as they grow and take the world by storm.
Such a shame about your mom's place being taken over by party jerks; surprised they asked you to simply throw the drugs out.
We have a phone number to call to pick up and safely dispose of anything drug related including needles and other paraphernalia so it doesn't fall into the hands of precious victims.

I had friends who had their non-winterized cottages trashed over the years and my cousins property outside Vegas was taken over by unauthorized persons who parked their trailer on it; they were court for years over "squatters rights" - can't remember how that ended - think they sold it, but not to the people in the trailer.

Glad the neighbours finally spotted something to call it in; could have been worse. Good thinking to put an alarm system in place, but a shame that it's necessary.

It's been a very long two weeks for me. My husband has had falls every day since I got him home.

Thankfully, home care set us up with an O.T. for this Friday to determine what else needs to be put into place; I asked for a nurse to take his vitals at least once a week; consider a hospital bed in the living room (so he can keep himself entertained a bit when I'm at work), a PSW to assist with a shower once a week; I'll be here for a second one and I have no-rinse cream and dry shampoo for the other days.

His poor body is full of skin tears and bruises, but he is finally allowing me to do things for him with more appreciation and less embarrassment (when people meet him, their first impression is a control freak - he doesn't control me; I sometimes let him think he does). It's hard for him to "let go" and let others help and not be able to get up when he wants to or carry on the way he always has.
Got a card from a caring neighbour stuck in the mailbox and other simply checking on him when my path crosses with theirs.

Yesterday was a pretty decent day; only 1 fall and more of a slip, no injuries - but today he had three falls; two I wasn't here for as I was at work; the other happened when I brought him lunch; two in between I happened along after he'd been down for over an hour. Thankfully, no major tears or bumps; but some dehydration the last time.

Poor cat; O'Malley was in his doorway steering clear of the fallen "big guy" and always seems to want me to know he had nothing to do with it as he had been guilty a few times in the past for causing him to fall.

I was supposed to take O'Malley to the groomers this Saturday, but my right side is a bit too sore from helping my husband up so many times. I just can't list that 27 lb. cat (and his cage) down the steps, to the car, etc. So, I switched it to the 30th.

I have a brunch date with a good friend and co-worker on Sunday so I can celebrate St. Patrick's Day.

My husband asked me today if I could get myself something for my birthday on Saturday that could be from him since he can't get out.
I told him I want tickets to the Elton John concert; just checking on two cousins who live in Toronto to see if they want to go along. The concert isn't until October; so I guess it should be for Christmas.

I don't know what I'll get for myself; I could use a new pair of casual pants and a top, but that's a need - not a gift - so I'll probably go grab a few gifts for other people at the Green Store that is closing at the mall. I bought several gifts there over the years; some for engagement tokens, birthdays and others for Christmas. Too bad I don't collect dragons. I really have no place to store them so I won't get much.

+mAll this and Christmas too; yes, I am still thinking Christmas thoughts. As I typed that, it reminded me of an old special I saw when I was younger; my parents enjoyed British comedy. Look, I found it!

Trying to keep merry with it; y'all stay jolly! :bundleup

Happy Thursday MMC! The snow continues to melt each day here. We're getting rid of most of it now but it's funny how in the shady parts there's still snow. I am hoping we won't see snow again till December. I would be more than ok with that. Started looking into the summer and what days I want to take off. Might put in for them already today or tomorrow. Never too early to plan days off. Have a great Next to Friday!

Good Morning, Folks.

Almost there, now.
<< Almost where, Crown? >>
Almost to another Milestone Day!

The daily data:
Days to the Season: 244
Days to Christmas Day: 286

And TOMORROW in fact, we will be arriving at another of those special days that so nicely mark our journey to Christmas and its much-anticipated Season.
Friday will see us complete the entire FIRST THIRD of the trip to the Season and the commencement of the second.
(Looks to be an exciting end of the work week, Guys!)

A bit on the cool side yesterday, but there was lots of sun and it felt pretty comfortable.
Today will see a return to the mid 70's with little chance of precipitation and tomorrow will see us into the upper 70's, but that comes with an 80% chance of rain.
We presently stand at 52 degrees here in the capital county.

Have a Thrilling Thursday, Everyone.
(It's Weekend Eve tomorrow, you know!)

Merry Thursday!
It’s going to be a nice day, partly sunny with a high of 53 degrees. I’ll definitely get out there and take Rocky for a couple of walks. It will be a typical day of errands and chores plus we’ll be going to the Islander game tonight. That’s about it. Hope everyone is well, have a nice day MMC!

Continued prayers for you all, Auntie! You're such a strong woman. God Bless you.

Enjoy the game! We haven't been to one this year! We talked about going to one here, but all the ones they had left, DH and I both worked/work. I know we talked to, if the mad it to the playoffs, maybe we would go to the first round like we did last year, since the first round isn't badly priced, but we'll see. The Metro Division standings change so much still everyday, plus, every time I turn around, DD has another commitment for baton. Lol. If we don't make one this year, I guess I'll live. LOL
