Good Monday morning, Christmas friends!

What an eventful weekend we had!
  • Friday, Elizabeth won first place in region Girl's Solo Singing, first in region Duet Interpretation (acting), and second in region Girl's Trio Singing, so now we're off to state competition this Wednesday.
  • Friday night, Jacob's University Singers had a wonderful concert that we attended at his university.
  • Saturday, Elizabeth's dance group won the region for a national dance competition, and Sunday they did almost as well!
I'm so proud of my kids!!

Now for the bad.

I got a call Friday night from the Sheriff's Dept. in Maggie Valley, NC (where my mom has a vacation home). Some neighbors noticed some people going into mom's house and called the police, who apprehended them. They had obviously been staying there for a few days, and had TRASHED the place; food on the floor and in the beds, dirty clothes and underwear all over the place, cigarette butts all over and cigarette-burned carpeting, etc.:mad::mad: They had hung blankets over the windows so no one could see the lights on. They damaged the back door breaking in, too.

I drove the 5.5 hours up there Saturday morning, 9mm on my side, bleached the entire place, and threw out all of their belonging and all of our bed sheets, pillows, etc. I also found knives and drugs. The police had overlooked these. I called the sheriff's office to see what to do with the drugs, and they said to just throw them out! o_O It took me six hours to clean the place, then 5.5 hours back home. Then the time changed.

It's not a big, fancy log cabin, it's just a single-wide mobile home on a 1/2 acre cow pasture lot, but we've loved it for almost 15 years, and we keep it spotless. Now it smells like cigarettes and crack-head.:mad:

We have a contractor making some repairs this week, then I'm going up to install an alarm system. I've tried to pray for their conversion, but, honestly, I'm just too angry.

Anyway, here's hoping the rest of my week is better. The kids are having a great week LOL!

I hope y'all have a great day! :)
Congrats to your children for their various accomplishments. You and your wife are seeing the result of great parenting. Thanks for sending good citizens into the world.

I can’t believe the authorities advised you to just dispose of the narcotics. Seems to me you are then in possession and could be in some jeopardy if things went sideways. I think I would contact the States or another agency and tell them you don’t want to be in posession.

Forgiveness will come with time. Something you hold dear has been violated. You have every reason to be upset. But this too shall pass.
Blessings - HIB

Good Morning, Valiant Voyagers.
Yes, we relentlessly and fearlessly press onward day by day until our ultimate destination is reached.

Let's check the navigation chart:
Days to the Season: 247
Days to Christmas Day: 289

And the ship's log reveals that we are now just FOUR days away from our next port-of-call, the ONE-THIRD point to Christmas Season 2019 and the beginning of quarter number two.
(Moving right along now under a fair wind with all sails spread!)

We had an early taste of spring yesterday, as our afternoon topped out at 68 degrees with all the sun we could ask for and nothing more than gentle breezes.
Today will see a very slight cool-down for the high, before we drop into the low 40's tonight.
This brand new Milestone-containing week has commenced here in the capital city at 58 degrees.

Have a Marvelous Monday, Folks!
I was just thinking due to the wind today it might be a good day for a sailboat on the lakes. Then I read your post! Thanks Crown

Oh Brad! I’m so sorry this happened. You just never know, do you? I pray this happens again. Congrats to the kids though - sounds like they did have a wonderful weekend - that is so great! Praying the week ahead, is so much better for you.

Wow Brad I am so sorry, I can’t even imagine. How incredibly violating. I would be livid as well. I hope all of the repairs go smoothly.
Congratulations to Elizabeth and Jacob, you must be so proud.
I hope you have a good week ahead.

Thanks Crown! It's been a long Monday!

Good Tuesday MMC! As my previous post says, it was a long Monday. Too long. I was exhausted when I got home but still got Rollins to the park. It's nice that 7PM and it's still not dark out. On the other end it's 7AM and still not light out. Days are getting longer though. A nice Monday weather-wise followed by a decent but cooler Tuesday. Have a great day!

Good morning MMC ~
It’s going to be a nice day, sunny with temperatures in the low 40’s. Today is my mothers birthday and I’ll be taking her out for lunch to celebrate. I also need to pick up a couple of things at the supermarket at some point. Other than that I will be working on my daily chores. That’s about it. I hope everyone has a great day!!!

Good Morning, People of Destiny.

And as unstopably determined seekers of Christmas and its Season, it is our destiny to carry the torch year round when other shrink. We keep that light forever shining. It guides us to our goal.

So, with renewed purpose, we present today's numbers:
Days to the Season: 246
Days to Christmas Day: 288

And Folks, another Milestone Day is rapidly approaching.
It stands just THREE days off now. Less than half a week away.
That marker is the 1/3 point to the Season.
Note your calendars!

It was just a touch cooler yesterday than Sunday but still very nice indeed for the first half of March.
Today should see us reach near 60 before we drop into the mid 30's tonight.
Our temperature at present is 43 degrees here in mid-state.

The ACC basketball tournament begins today, so I'll have a Terrific Tuesday.
Hope you have one too, Friends!

Good Tuesday morning! It feels
like I didn’t sleep at all last night, even though I did, but I kept tossing and turning. It will be a gorgeous sunny day with temperatures on the rise. In fact they predict highs above the freezing point for the rest of the week. David had his three-week-post-surgery checkup with his surgeon yesterday and everything is fine and he is thrilled that he can finally take his sling off. He has his first physio appointment today, it will be interesting to see how he feels afterwards. Hope you all enjoy a great day ahead!

Still stuck at the office ... in the past several weeks, it's been 9+ hour days ... just can't catch a break.
At least the time change has the sun out a little longer, so it won't seem too late...maybe...I hope it gets better for you!

Good Tuesday morning, Christmas friends!

I had a nice, uneventful afternoon yesterday. It was really nice.

I'll be out tomorrow, going to see Elizabeth compete at state competition.

Thursday is mama's surgery, so I'll be out then, too.

I hope y'all have a great day! :D

Sorry to hear this Brad....just awful! I don't know what it wrong with people!

Happy to hear David is healing well!

I am so incredibly sorry for your loss of Andre. Bless his heart and yours, too. Keeping your you and your family in my prayers. A pet is truly part of the family. (((hugs)))
Thanks so much, Sugar! I appreciate all your prayers.
Hope all is well with you!

In spite of Daylight Saving, it was dark when I got home! But Mr. had dinner ready for me, and it felt so good to get home and relax. My office is in the midst of a major campaign that's rolling out throughout the month. I hope things ease up when that push ends.

We have that in Tennessee too. Tomorrow Juniors will take the ACT, Freshmen are on a field trip, & Seniors get an "Independent Study Day". I guess the Sophomores just do the best they can...

Update: Sophomores are taking the "Practice ACT", so they didn't get left out!

So tired...between the time change & sleeping on the uncomfortable couch last night so I wouldn't bother DH with my tossing & turning, I'm moving slow today. Trying to keep busy!

I hope everyone has a good day!
