Happy Pines Day All
Sorry I have been slightly AWOL the last few days enjoying the hot weather, hiding from the sun, sorting the garden and preparing for birthdays.
My daughter turns 9 on the 14th and I turn 35 on the 17th so I am busy planning her birthday cake at the minute for her which I will bake on Saturday and assemble for her on Saturday night. So that is taking some planning - she must be the only girl I know who wants a unicorn and skull themed bedroom!
Anyway we have also decided on the 17th to go away camping for the night with the 3 dogs to a pretty little campsite over in west wales. Theres a nice little harbour and a lovely little town called St Davids just down the road so it will make for some nice walks I hope. Fingers crossed the weather stays nice.
Im also having quite an educational week as well. So far this week I have learnt ......
1. Sunscreen in the eye hurts like hell
2. It doesn’t taste any better
3. My garden is uneven - you will roll your ankle if you are not paying attention
4. Never leave the puppy unattended with toilet roll within said puppy’s reach whilst in garden.
5. Whilst retrieving toilet roll from puppy, bear in mind other 2 dogs will see this as a fun game and join in.
6. It’s sometimes easier to admit defeat. Clean toilet roll up later.
7. Putting up a 6 man tent by yourself is not an easy task - there’s a reason it says two are needed to put it up
8. If you check the tent bag before hand you won’t have a wonky tent because you missed one piece of pole!
9. Trying to do anything in the garden at 11.30 on a sweltering day when you hate sunshine was never going to be a good idea to begin with!
Thankfully today is cooler and I am not melting as much.
I have also decided this year that me and the kids will do some link to hope boxes. It is very much like the operation Christmas child shoe boxes but with these you fill them with small gifts for a family so everyone gets a present or you can fill it for an elderly person. I think the spirit of giving will be nice in itself but also a nice way to remember my grandad at Christmas too by helping out an elderly gent who needs it.
Good news on the family front too
FIL had his next bout of chemo and despite being a little sick has managed to go back to work
Zac my sons friend with Leukaemia is home and was just gifted a small wooden shed so he is able to sit out in the garden and enjoy the summer (he needs the shade as he has become intolerant to direct sunlight)
Chris my friend with the same leukaemia who was put into a coma is home! He is doing well, learning to walk again well and taking it easy but if youd of told me that this time last month Id of been shocked. I was preparing myself for the worst! Just goes to show God knows what hes doing.
So all in all its been a good week. Also set up my own little side project / business etc selling imported goods and have already had two orders so thats going well too
Happy days!
Hope your all having a great day , enjoying sunshine, relaxing or whatever your doing! I will catch up on the thread for the few days I missed but if I did miss any birthdays /anniversaries /celebrations/ achievements etc - well done! Congrats! Good Job! Happy Birthday / Anniversary!
And hugs to all or any who need them
