Merry Pines Day MMC!
Not too much going on here today. I’m going to make a Target run later this morning. Other than that I will be working on my daily chores. Dinner will be a new recipe for a chicken parmesan pasta bake. That’s about it for me. I hope everyone has a nice day, see you tonight!
xx
Dinner sounds great...I will have to research that one. I am always looking for new recipes.

Good Wednesday morning, Christmas friends!

Tonight's the night for our hurricane impact, so we'll see how it goes. If it continues to track as it's going, Bellville shouldn't get too much trouble. We're about an hour inland from Savannah. Still, they're talking about "tropical force" winds & rain, so prayers and kind thoughts appreciated. I'll be sending mine along to the Carolinas, as their time approaches, too.

Anyway, my brother now says he still thinks he can get my lawnmower running. Yippee!!

I hope y'all have a great, unhurricanely day! :D
Hope the storm stays far away...the videos from the Bahamas are so awful.

Happy Hump Day!!
Looks like we will have a warm day and maybe some storms later afternoon or early evening. Typical work day for me and I am going to catch up on laundry tonight. Hope you all have a great day!

Good Morning, Everyone.
Seems like it should be Tuesday, but Carl wants it distinctly understood that today is Hump Day and the first 'Pines Day of the 'Bers, meaning fall decor!
More about that, later.

On to the count:
Days to the Season: 70
Days to Christmas Day: 112

After a couple more days, we will be down to single digits to our next Milestone marker, the 100-Day Christmas Day Window.
Then, of course, BOTH our count numbers will consist of two digits, as the year dwindles down.

Still rather warm and humid here, as we are into the final three weeks of official summer before the autumnal equinox arrives on Sept 23.
It is cloudy here this AM and looks like possible rain although Weather.com says no chance of it today.
(Tomorrow is a different story as Dorian approaches!)
We are at 72 degrees here right now in the capital city.

Well, alright then! First 'Pines open house of the 'Bers!
Carl has been busy as a beav.....er.....camel getting the S.P. transformed into a fall theme. Can't wait to see the results, and to try the seasonal earth-tone fired twinkies. The theme is "Are you a Berliever?" (We all are, right!)
Hope to see you there this evening.

In the meantime, you all have a Wonderful Wednesday!

Happy Hump day Merry members! I hope your week is going well so far.

I took the dog out for a short walk this morning. Things are already starting to change seasons. There's a few more leaves on the ground, the air is cooler, and there's a slight crispness to the morning. Autumn is just around the corner and it's only a short wait for the holidays.

The FIL got back yesterday from his care home respite from the surgery. He's now able to walk more freely, although he still needs to use a walker for stability. His birthday is today so a few of the ladies from church are coming to visit for tea this afternoon. I'll make a nice banana bread for him too.

I've signed up for the ornament exchange, so if anyone wants to be my buddy I'm happy to partner with them. I'm in Canada if you don't mind sending packages up north!

Work is progressing on the "A Christmas To Remember" shop at the mall. Got this sneak peek through a gap in the visual barrier.
Hopefully, it will be open in time for the Blossoms thread launch later this month!

Good morning friends and Happy Pines Day! Not much on the agenda for today. Just sitting enjoying my morning coffee and the smell of my fall candle. The kids are at school and DH is at work. Later this evening, one of us have to attend a parent meeting at the school for DD and the other will have to run DD to baton. Other than that, that's my day. Praying for all being affected by the hurricane. Please continue to check in when you can! Have a great day!

Happy Hump / Pines Day Merry Wackos +i

Our light rain turned into a storm last night. O'Malley and I both jumped at the thunder and lightning that felt like something hit the fire station - imagine - I don't see anything on the news about it. Not raining now and none expected today or tomorrow.

Power flickered off and on twice, but only lost time on the microwave, the stove and bedside clock kept their time. TV lost the information for channels, but worked and the feed started filling before bedtime. I have three flashlights and two lanterns.

That's a little inconvenient nothing like people affected by Dorian. I don't recall ever having a hurricane. Our last tornado warning was back in June 2018, but it never happened. We've had some water spouts over the lake several times over the years, but they never hit land. The most damage we had was during a microburst that uprooted trees, flattened a few sheds and rooftops, damaged boats in the marina, but nothing compared to what others have endured with tornados and hurricanes. A few macrobursts and brown outs over the years as well. Our main lake is connected to Georgian Bay and the French River.

Merry factoid for y'all...we are home to an original NORAD site that had the compound built underground with a missile launch set to release from Trout Lake and yes, we tracked Santa's flight from there. They moved the complex above ground about 8 years ago and so sayeth they that the missiles have been removed - I do recall the huge flatbed carrying them out of the city many moons ago, but who knows if they were real.

Back in 9,11 several planes were diverted to our airport because of the huge landing strip for the base.

For films buffs, I've mentioned a few films that were shot here. The first ever starred James Cagney in Captains of the Clouds (a Second World War film) back in 1942 before I was born.

There's more hump day info than you asked for - hahahoho

It's tea kind of morning here with a cool morning; feels crisp like at the cottage. Windy and the rustling of the leaves makes it seem cooler than it actually is outside; sounds like waves by the seaside.

O'Malley the cat and I will see you at the Pines tonight for the grand "bers" celebration.

+g Stay jolly +b
A mention of James Cagney is never TMI!!
It's always fascinating to hear about the location shooting in your area, past or present. (Or future.)
