Tuesday - back to work for me and back to school for the local students.

Tomorrow is Hump / Pines Day - I'm off on Friday (emergency vacation day to tend to some legal matters)

The week is sure to fly by.

Happy Autumn Road MMC! Well this is back to work for me now every day till Thanksgiving (Eve) when we get out at noon. Summer breaks and vacations are over. That's ok though because even being at work and coming home during the Bers is better than the rest of the year. And of course Bers Weekends are the best to look forward to . Have a great beginning of the Autumn Road MMC!

Hopefully, good fortune shines in your direction soon to reduce your worries. My first job out of high school was a seasonal job as curator at a local museum that was considered a tourist destination. I was worried at first that I would be out of work, but managed to get myself a job at the gift job of a truck stop across the hwy from where I was working. Hope you and your husband find work soon.

Good Tuesday morning! Temperatures really cooled down overnight, we’ll see if we can remove the portable air conditioner tonight. Just work for me today. It will be a short work week as I’ll have a 4-day weekend starting Friday. Hope everyone will enjoy a great day!

Good morning MMC ~
It’s going to be sunny and warm here today, highs near 80 degrees. Much nicer than yesterday, we actually had a tornado touch down here for about five minutes. Pretty rare for Long Island! Aside from those scary moments we had a nice unofficial end of summer barbecue. Today will be a typical day of errands and chores. I’m heading out soon to walk Rocky and enjoy the beautiful weather. I hope everyone is well and has a wonderful day!

Good Morning, Folks.
Back from the beach and back in action!

Nice trip to the cottage and everything was in good shape.
We have a really great group of renters who come back year after year and take excellent care of the place. We are lucky to have such a great clientele.
(Now if only Dorian doesn't check in.....)

But back to the count:
Days to the Season: 71
Days to Christmas Day: 113

And do eyes deceive, or are we really UNDER two weeks away now from our next marker, the 100-Day Christmas Day Window?
(The eyes may deceive, but not the Countdown chart!)

It was a bit warm and humid at the beach, but most of the time we had a moderating breeze. No rain issues until late Sunday and by then, most outside work had been completed.
Today back here in Raleigh, it is predicted to get to 89 for our high with a 10 percent chance of rain.
Feels like Monday, but in fact our second day of the work week has commenced here at 72 degrees.

Thank you Edge and Auntie for taking the sleigh reigns for Sunday and Monday mornings, seeing us safely into the 'Bers once again!

Good wet Tuesday morning, Christmas friends!

I had a long, busy weekend, while my family relaxed LOL. Nancy and her sister rented a cabin in a nearby state park for the weekend, and they all had a great time. I worked on my lawnmower (to no avail), used my mom's mower on my yard, then I mowed hers. Then I had a large pecan limb down in my yard that had to be cleaned up. And that was just Saturday. The rest of my weekend was just like that.

We've been watching the slowly approaching storm, and it looks like it might veer a bit east from south Georgia, so maybe it won't be too bad here. Praying that no one else gets it as bad as the Bahamas did. Wow.

I lost my job last Wednesday, and I've been pretty down with bills piling up and becoming overdue. I just don't feel very Christmassy right now. I have applied for quite a few jobs, and I've had one interview so far. Please wish me luck, that I get a new job quickly.

Good luck with the job hunt! I know the feeling; my husband is getting laid off next week. We were told about this back in February, but September just seemed so far away then and now it is almost here. We are in the hunt for jobs too. I wish you all the luck and success in finding a job you love!

I went to get Socrates my scarecrow door decoration out to set him up and his head is coming off. I'll have to get myself a hot glue gun and hope for the best.

Took a look in the closet and started reorganizing my wardrobe, hoping I'm not finished with shorts yet.

This wouldn't be the first time a bird has lost his head with a cat nearby...Perhaps it will give Socrates enough time to heal up.

We took out annual Labor Day weekend trip to Pigeon Forge this weekend and had a good time, as usual. DD is fourteen now & we're trying to squeeze in all the time we can with her before she's too cool to hang out with us. Right now, she says she wants to live with us forever---wondering how long those feelings will last!

Depending on how tired I am this week, I might get the little bit of fall decor out that I have. We went to The Incredible Christmas Place this weekend & DH got another piece of the Christmas Vacation village set. I reminded DH that the "bers" are here and he rolled his eyes at me...
