Sad Tidings Dept: Our cable provider is moving TCM to the Sports and Entertainment package in mid - October. They think this is fair trade for adding Hallmark Drama earlier in the month. They are massively confused...

Good Friday morning! It's the start of a 4-day weekend for me. Planning on doing some-de-cluttering and some relaxing too. I have a few errands to run today while David will be attending his ergo and physio appointments later this morning and my in-laws are coming over later this afternoon.

We had a bad surprise when we came home from work yesterday. Being on the third floor of an apartment building, we leave our windows open when it's a sunny day, to get fresh air through the place. But yesterday workers next door apparently were cutting bricks without any dust control system in place, so when we got home, our kitchen was full of construction dust. How fun it is having to clean your kitchen after a long work day. Windows closed from now on if we see any construction nearby.

Oh no, what a horrible thing to have to come home and clean up such a mess. How rude of the workers to not notify other residents of the construction so that appropriate measures could have taken place.

Happy First Weekend of the Bers MMC! We made it to the first full weekend of it. I was thinking on Friday how Labor Day Week is really that transition week where we go back to work, school and football. And that kind of starts up this weekend and goes right through our Autumn which is that long road towards Thanksgiving through the Halloween Season and that leads us to the Christmas Season. Just incredible when you think about what it means. I think we need to all take in each day as much as we can and enjoy the ride. Have a great start to your First Weekend of the Bers!

Happy Saturday! Hope everyone is geared up for a good weekend. Hope all of our East Coasters are doing good.

We start our youth soccer program this morning. It will run for the next 6 weeks. Saturday won't be the same until Oct. 19th, but it is all for the little ones. I'm pretty excited about it.

Good Saturday morning! It really feels temperatures-wise that Summer is over. September came in and temperatures just dropped. After a couple of signs of Christmas at work, someone on another forum unrelated to the holiday mentioned how many days were left till Christmas and it just made me smile. I’m finding myself looking up Christmas things more and more as we go into Fall.

Just chores and grocery shopping for me this morning. Later today we’re heading to my brother’s for supper. Have a wonderful day everyone!

It’s going to be a beautiful day, sunny with a high of 76 degrees. I’m heading out soon to do some food shopping. My youngest is coming over later for lunch and then we’re going to do some shopping. I’ll be working on the laundry in between. We’re grilling burgers for dinner. I guess that’s about it. I hope everyone is well and has a wonderful weekend!!!

Can another weekend really be here again so soon?
(Since the calendar says it's Saturday, I guess so.)

But how about the following? Can it be believed?
Days to the Season: 67
Days to Christmas Day: 109

And straining credibility even further, how about the fact that we are now down to SINGLE DIGITS to the 100-Day Christmas Day Window, after which point BOTH of our count numbers will consist of two digits instead of the usual three.
(Holy Holidays, Batman!)

Still rainy and blustery yesterday morning as Dorian lifted away but by afternoon, the sun and peaceful weather ruled the day!
Looked on some of the websites covering Emerald Isle where our cottage is and there was little to no damage reported with the exception of one tornado that hit the far west end of the island, damaging a trailer park. Looks like our place sidestepped another freight train!
Today here in the state capital looks to be calm and sunny with no chance of rain.
We commence this end-of-the-week oasis at 69 degrees, here.

Good morning ... Loving this fall like weather. Had to wear hoodies at the the high school football game last night. Our son performed with the marching band. His first time and he loved it. He is in the drum pit for the football games and competitions and is playing the small bass drum for the parade this morning. His goal to eventually play the quads. Going to be busy day. Good morning all! I work this weekend. Normally I would be off this weekend, but someone needed be to switch with them, so I work the next two. That’s okay, because as I said before Disney will be here before I know it!

Hello all and Happy Saturday!

Today is full of cleaning up around the house and watching some college football. Currently watching Army beat Michigan! Hope it continues through the second half.

We are going to try to put up our inside Halloween decorations this evening. Probably won't do the outside stuff until the end of the month.

While we are having some nice weather today and tomorrow, the heat is coming back Monday through Wednesday; it looks like up to 90 again. I hope that will be the last of the hot weather. I am ready for 50s and 60s!

And Weekend Eve is quite an exciting experience each week, isn't it?
But we have other excitement to look forward to each day!

And the 100-Day Christmas Day Window, our next Milestone?
Well, that's SINGLE DIGITS away as of tomorrow!

Very minor problems here from Dorian. Some rain and moderately gusty winds. The power went out three times, but all is OK now. Will have to await reports from the beach, but the storm weakened to a CAT 1 by the time it brushed by and the center never crossed the coastline.
Today starts still overcast and very damp indeed, but it should clear up by about noon or so.
Our present temp is 70 degrees here in the wet capital city.

On my drive back home today, I noticed a mailbox along the HWY that was pine green with a red handle and a candy cane type of pole holding it up - made me smile because I was getting a bit tired at that point and all of the sudden it was like my chums had "willed' it to be there to give me a merry jolt and keep me going.

Coming up from a dip of the HWY to a hill, it looked like I could drive right through the fluffy cloud that seemed to be hovering there. I said to myself "cloud-smoud"; that's the portal to Dean Martin's Marshmallow World.

Merry signs are popping up everywhere.
