I came back today instead of tomorrow because I need to clean my kitchen floor and get rid of the furry tumbleweeds that O'Malley has scattered about the carpets.
Had a short, but good visit and my first car has now been successfully transferred over to #1 son.

Chatted with my dad on the phone for over 20 minutes. He's nervous about his friends who live in English Town in Cape Breton as the Dorian news has him concerned for their area. Heartbreaking to see the destruction on the news.

Busy traffic today, but compared to getting there on Friday (4. 5 hours), the drive home flew by (less than 4) - six vehicles ahead of me and two behind me were going 110 where it said 90 and I had to keep up with the pack. I'm not one to speed - maybe within 8 over at times up to 12 over, but I try and obey the limits because there's a reason they exist; in this case I was simply keeping the pace (wink, wink).

O'Malley was happy to see me and after the usual rub down greeting, he waited to see if I was going to give him some moist food. In some ways I wish I never started him on that because it's supposed to fill him up more so he won't eat as much, but it's not working. He just wants the wet stuff and his kibble. I left him with enough food for two and a half days; he touched a bit of the dry stuff from all three bowls, but didn't eat nearly as much I thought he would so maybe the wet food is working to curb his appetite and he just meows at me because he knows I'll cave to his will.

Had to replenish the bird feeder offerings; the woodpecker one is good for another few days.

Going to have a lazy afternoon and evening and likely order dinner or I might make myself a grilled cheese sandwich to go with my leftover soup.

Stay Jolly +b

I see another tropical disturbance out there too. Life on the east coast in September. Yabba!

It's horrible; I'm thinking this one will have resulted in the most damage to many different areas by the time it's over.

Keeping good thoughts for the loved ones of the casualties and the living who have to find the strength to carry on and consider how they will rebuild what they have lost.

Not Yabba.

I awoke at 4:35 to the sound of my husband sobbing on the side of the bed, talking with someone on the phone. All I heard was, "Whaaat? When?" followed by more sobs. I woke up to comfort him and find out what was going on and of course he wasn't there.

O'Malley heard me stirring and came down to ensure I didn't go back to sleep.

Might grab a nap later, but I figured I might as well get up.

Since I saw #1 son and he and the family are fine, I guess I should check in with #2 son today to see how he is doing. We haven't chatted much since Gary passed away. He is a friend of Bill W so I'm wondering if Gary's sobs were an attempt to get me to reach out. I will check in with him later.

Wound up ordering Chinese food for dinner last night. Plenty of leftovers for today and I'm making meatloaf for sandwiches and a few dinners for the first part of the week.

Good Sunday morning! Last night we had a great time at my brother's. They decided to make a Christmas-like supper for us, since they got very sick last Christmas when they had invited us over and everything had to be cancelled. So there was stuffing, butternut squah puree with pumpkin spices, side dishes and tofurkey (because I'm vegetarian and one of them is vegan). It was all so delicious and of course it brought up many Christmas discussions.

This morning we are going out to eat with friends and their two children and then we have grocery shopping to do, aiming to be home for football at 1pm. Hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday!

Morning, friends. What a day we had yesterday.....

Soccer, then Mom wanted to take the girls shopping and take Doc and I to eat...she was so good to us. After that, it was groceries and then home. We got everything put up just in time to watch a little football about 6:30. Yesterday seemed like a 12 hour workday. Needless to say, I fell to sleep reading the girls a book around 9 p.m.

Today is church and then I got some cooking to do. Of course, all of this will take place while watching my Cowboys.

Y'all have a great day!

Good Morning, Folks!
We move into the second half of our weekend and to within one day of the one week mark to our next Milestone!

Days to the Season: 66
Days to Christmas Day: 108

And just a cursory check of today's numbers will reveal that we are now just EIGHT days away from the 100-Day Christmas Day Window.
ONE WEEK
from tomorrow!
After that, BOTH count numbers will have but two digits.
(We are so moving along! Is it any wonder that "A Christmas To Remember" is already busy setting up shop at Crabtree?)

Pleasant weather here yesterday despite a high of 90, thanks to the lower humidity. (And no storms of any kind or description!)
Today shows a predicted high of 89, with a 20 percent chance of rain.
Our Weekend Part II has commenced here clear and sunny at 70 degrees.

Have a Super Sunday, Friends!

Thanks Crown! Happy NFL Sunday!

Happy Sunday everyone. Hope you had a great weekend. Spent today putting up shelving and taking Jonah to the park to learn to ride his bike. Productive day all round. We're making some dinner and settling down for the night. Have a good one and enjoy the football being back, might catch something late if I can stay awake.

That is not a great way to wakeup. Sorry to hear, Auntie. Hope the rest of your day has gotten better.

Eight Days!!! Eight days until 100 and I haven't spotted anything for the Season just yet - outside of the normal early stores, of course. I've seen photos elsewhere from Wal-Marts. I haven't been into any in Ottawa in more than a week. I can't wait for these buds to turn into full blossoms!

I had to grab a few things from there today and discovered large ornaments on display as well as fancy hanging lanterns with holly and other things inside and some lights; the trees are still high up on the shelves; Halloween stuff is everywhere.

Wandered into the Hallmark store for a look-see and came home with a large Fall fleece throw in carmel dark brown and orange. I also grabbed some red, green tissue & gold and silver foil wrap; so I got Autumn and Christmas in one stop. Didn't get any ornaments today.

Good Sunday afternoon, Christmas friends!

Whew, what a strange last few days we've had!

Thursday afternoon (the day of the hurricane), mom called to say she was so dizzy that she fell outside. I picked her up and we went to the local emergency room, where they diagnosed vertigo. Sent her home with Dramamine.

Friday morning, she called me, and she was desperate for help with the pain in her leg. I went to her house and took her to another hospital where they found a blood clot in her leg. She was sent to Savannah, which was upside-down with all of the hurricane evacuees. We spent the night there and they finally released her Friday afternoon with a blood thinner.

Yesterday, I went bird hunting with Bernie at my bother's-in-law farm. We had a VERY successful hunt, but it sure was HOT!! They were hunting again this afternoon, but I told them I had to work today. A little fib (since I'm typing this at work), but I want them to invite me again...just when it's not 100° outside.

Nancy's hard at work on a September 15th tax deadline, and Elizabeth and I just had lunch at mom's. Jacob had school work to do, so he didn't come home, and Elizabeth just went back to school.

I'm ready for a regular day.

I hope y'all have a great day! :D
