Happy October Arrives MMC! We made it to the 1st of the Big 3 Holiday Months. Wow. It's amazing. October is such an amazing month. We're starting off warm here the next couple of days before we crash back to normal and even below normal this weekend with temps. Autumn weather is right around the corner. Have a great October Arrives Day!

Happy October 1st!!
Looking forward to a little Christmas music to celebrate the new month.
We will have warm days for the next couple of days and then we are headed to fall like temps..yay!! I am def ready for it!
Hope you all have a great start to a new month!

Good Morning Folks.

We are proceeding on through this final week before the Home Stretch to Christmas Season 2019 begins.
The year is just racing away. Miss just one day and you feel like you're falling behind!

Well, the best way to keep up to date is to not miss the daily count. So here it is:
Days to the Season: 43
Days to Christmas Day: 85

And our Milestone situation?
UNDER a week to go!
To the NINETY PERCENT marker, that is.
At which point we enter that final Home Stretch to day one of our long-sought Season.

A bit cooler here yesterday than Sunday was, but the heat will begin to build back again today and by Thursday, we could be into the upper 90's, as summer takes one final big shot at us.
This second day of the work week commences here at 70 degrees.

Have a Terrific Tuesday, Everyone!

October is a special month for me, Solice with several birthdays, the Canadian Thanksgiving, my wedding anniversary and Halloween; this year it will also pave way to an amazing jazz/reggae-ish night of entertainment and the Elton John Farewell Yellow Brick Road concert.

My dad and I are planning a short trip together so that Thanksgiving and my wedding anniversary (without my husband) becomes a special weekend instead of a sad one; we'll make new memories.

I had a dream about a blue, purple and black dragonfly and all of a sudden my husband was coming through a doorway with a tremendous light behind him and then when I saw his face and him walking without too much trouble, I realized it wasn't right. His face was a mix of his and Ian McKellen's (he didn't resemble Ian).

In the dream, I was catching the injured dragonfly to mend a damaged wing and my husband had come to congratulate me on healing it and returning it to it's family.

Too bad my husband's face was more wrinkly and his hair was longer and grayer than normal because that's what woke me up. I found myself looking toward the bedroom doorway when I woke up with a jump in my heart. He wasn't there.

That was at 2:22 a.m. and O'Malley heard me stirring and came along to see if it was time to rise and shine. It wasn't. I managed to get back to sleep and this time my dream took me to my old neighbourhood. I was running in the air and flying a bit through the schoolyard toward the back view of my old house where I celebrated my first Christmas when I was barely a year old.

I woke up with a smile on my face.

Keep a merry thought in your head. +f

Big hug to you AMD

I just realised I know nothing about the Canadian Thanksgiving.
So I had to google it.

I love every chance to celebrate.
So we (my family) have celebrated Thanksgiving (American style)
for over ten years now
It's my favorite day all through the year!
(Norway also have adopted The Black Friday and Cyber Monday)

Have a great weekend with your dad. I will be thinking about you ♥

Thanks Crown! Today has already turned into a sweaty mess for us.

Good morning and October 1. The holiday season has begun.

Of course, the 1st of the month means REPORT DAY! The day to begin amassing and distributing all the monthly reports. AND, since it's October 1st all the quarterly reports as well. Busy couple of days.

Enjoy!

Good Tuesday morning and Happy October, Christmas friends!!

It's going to be 95°F here today, but still, IT'S OCTOBER!

I hope y'all have a great day! :D

How in the world did it get to be OctoBER already??? Happy Tuesday!!!!

A friend of mine keeps posing her full boned skeleton in different places around her home kind of like Elf on a Shelf only with a Halloween twist to it. I mentioned to her that with all the images I saw, I was surprised she didn't have him posed in the closet yet.
My in-laws have a wicked sense of humour and right now they have a life size skeleton sitting in a rocking chair with a life size skeleton dog next to it and the skeleton is petting the dog.

Thank you. Thanksgiving has always been next to Christmas in my heart.

Merry Tuesday!
Merry October!

Apparently my brother is in no shape to get out of rehab yet (although the nurse I talked to this morning said he was doing better), so I have a bit of time on my hands to finish getting the place ready. Monday the new furnace guy comes to do the yearly check. Earlier in the year the company we had been doing business with since I was in grade school sent out someone new and he didn't put all the screws back into the squirrel cage and it fell partially out. Sounded like a helicopter in the house. He had to come back out and the company charged us another service fee. Time to switch to someone new!

Just work and organizing for me the rest of the week. I am hoping to make it out to the rehab center to see my brother, but if not at least I can talk to him on the phone. He is eating better and his hair is starting to grow back. I think it has been over two months since he had the radiation treatments ~ hard to believe. Time is going by in a strange way of late what with all the stress and worry I've been under. That is why I am so thankful to come here and visit with everyone and to listen to Christmas music ~ great stress reliefs! :)

The leaves are falling off a few of the trees now although there hasn't been much color changes yet. Rain and storms in the forecast for the next several days and the temperatures are going to drop down into the low 40s at night. Today it is going to be in the mid 80s.

Have a merry month of October, my friends!

My October 1st cost me just over $1,000.00 to repair my car. I had an appointment scheduled for Thursday morning, I was concerned about terrible grinding noises coming from what I thought was the rear right tire and it felt like someone or something was holding me back whenever I wanted to ease into a stop or a turn and then starting up again. No squealing, just grinding.

This morning I was out near my mechanic when I just had a bad feeling and pulled into the lot. He checked it right away. It was the left side that had him alarmed. Worn right down. actually starting a small leak. Knowing I need my vehicle for work and such, they took care of it quickly.

The owner gave me a lift back to work and called a few hours later with an update.

Thankfully they had the calibers, etc. and discovered the source of the trouble with the front bearing that I suspected was also a problem. I told them to replace both rear calibers for the brakes so I wouldn't have to return in two-three month with the right side. Odd how I kept feeling the drag on that side when the left was in worse shape.

I already picked it up; fixed in just one day (and most of the other vehicles sat on the lot). They were closed when I got there so I'll swing by tomorrow to square things up with them bill-wise.

The ringtone I have for them on my cell is the old car horn sound; it startles me when I first hear it and then makes me laugh. There's no mistaking it for a song that might get stuck in my head. HaHa.

Happy Pines Eve; see you in the morning! -reindeer-

That's a bit disappointing about your brother having to wait longer before leaving rehab, but also a good thing because he will be stronger when he gets to your place.

Christmas chums, stories and music are good medicine. And none of it leaves a bad after taste.

A young lady in our maintenance department stopped outside my office and was telling me about her plans for her decorations this year. I will swing by and snap a photo of her outdoor display; she's a bit of merry wacko too and usually starts right after Halloween when the weather isn't too cold to string the lights, etc.

Sometimes just knowing people realize they can talk to me about Christmas stuff any time and not feel strange is good medicine too.

Hugs.

Thanks, Auntie.
I'm sorry you had such an expensive fix on your car, but glad you got it taken care of in time.
A merry Pines Eve to you!
