Christmas Countdown - 2019

Hello everyone!!

My goodness I have missed you all. Logging onto this forum always feels like opening the door to a magical secret world but especially this morning. I never meant to be away from here for so long and I can't believe I've not been since New Year!

How are you all?? It will take me some time to catch up but I really hope you all have been well. You have all been on my mind and I have meant to pop on so many times.

Everything is good on our end. My eldest is all settled into high school and in his second year. My youngest just turned 8 and doing great. My mum was here for part of summer and left end of September. She hadn't made it over last year so it was good to have her visit. Life has been very hectic with work, the kids and everything in between. We are all settled now into the new house. Last June made it two years since we moved in but it still feels new As for the kittens, they are now grown up cats and doing brilliant after all their health issues as babies.

I am so excited to be back and believe me when I say I have thought of you all often. I am looking forward to spending the best time of the year with you all.

Painted the bathroom over the weekend. It’s now decorated for Christmas. I mean, there’s no sense in putting the regular stuff back up this close to the season right?

Merry Monday!

My brother ate an entire peanut butter and jelly sandwich on Saturday! The nurse said his mood had improved and he was quite talkative on Sunday. It has been an up and down time for him, so hopefully there will be more ups than downs now! Thank you for all the thoughts and prayers for him ~ he really appreciates them as do I. xx

I spent a little extra time on you and your brother last night. Good to hear he had a few ups recently.

Comforting thoughts and prayers continue.

I just picked up some Halloween goodies to give to the fire station for their annual haunted fire hall event. The second of the bers is almost behind us. Time is flying.

Hey, I actually got my "to do list" done at work today. Remarkable.

I tackled half of the bathroom before getting in the shower so I only have the shower and floor to do on the weekend.

O'Malley was bugging me when I got home. Then I saw him dart into the washroom and back out again a few times. AHA. I know what that means. He's clever, but not enough to finish what he started. He needed toilet paper to pick up a tiny ball of poop that didn't make it to the litter box. He's done this several times. I swear he wants to clean it up, but doesn't know how - he's all paws, you know.

I think it's cute the way he tries to communicate with me. I took care of it and thanked him for letting me know. I would have checked when I passed by as I always do, but maybe he didn't want me to wait.

I am going to unwind in the rocker recliner.

It's great to see you too. How are you? And the girls?? How was the wedding? Hope it was a wonderful day and time for you all.

We are all doing well, thank you so much. The wedding was beautiful! My daughter and son in law will be celebrating their first wedding anniversary on January 4th! The time is flying by!

Really closing in fast on the first holiday of the season.

Days to Halloween: 3 (UNDER HALF a week!!)
Days to the Season: 16 (Two weeks from the DAY AFTER TOMORROW!)
Days to Christmas Day: 58 (Eight weeks from the day after tomorrow!)

Outstanding weather for our trip to the State Fair yesterday. We could not go Saturday as originally planned, so we got it in yesterday afternoon, the final day.
It was actually almost TOO warm!
Today and tomorrow will see highs in the low to mid 70's before we cool off into the 60's for Wednesday.
Our week-starting temperature right now is 58 degrees, here.

16 days until our Season begins? I think I'll have to spend day -1 (November 12th) getting out a few boxes in preparation. I can hear Andy, Bing, Darlene, and all the classics warming up their voices already. Yet again, they will help make this the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

It was raining heavy when I took the garbage out; it was supposed to stop, but still trickling when I finally headed out to grab a few things.

I tell myself that it is better than snow. Half of the leaves have blown off the trees out back, but I still saw some nice ones on my trip last week.

Supposed to stop overnight and we're due for more on Tuesday.

We're due for much of the same later on Tuesday. It's supposed to be around 16c here tomorrow, too. It might be the final nice, double-digit day. Instead, I can't run due to my surgery. Darn! Oh well, I'll enjoy this weather while it lasts...

More importantly, Thursday doesn't look so good for the kids. Hopefully we have a few hours where it doesn't rain - just for them!

OK! I hope everyone has had a good introduction into the final last few days of October. It was another busy day for me. Now, I have to do some marking - something I should have started much earlier. I really want to get most of my stuff done here so that I don't have to worry about much when my dad comes up on Thursday.
