:snowhappyGood Merry Morning :shakeit

Cat woke me at 2:30 so I gave him a half portion of food and went back to bed. He left me alone until 6:00 - hurray!

I have chores to do this morning and then heading out to visit with my dad for a few hours.

Grandson #2 advanced to lieutenant at Fire Station 81. He doesn't have to take orders from his brother anymore, he can give direction to the crew and correspond with other EMS on the scene as necessary.

Back to work tomorrow; not completely ready - but it will all work out. It's my first 5-day work week and then I have four day work-weeks the next two so I can look forward to that.

Well, I'll need the Pines on Hump Day to get me over that mid-week hurdle.

Wonder if O'Malley and Carl have their costumes picked out already.

Keep a merry thought in your head +i

Congratulations to your grandson!

Watching Hallmark Countdown to Christmas movies and doing a puzzle. Just celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary Friday. Mini pumpkins on my living room table. An orange candle lit.

Being in a stressful job as a retirement community chaplain means I often don’t feel the “warm fuzzies” I’ve realized. I know how hard life can be. But today, I’m feeling that tingling warmth that comes from the season, the love, and the joy.

I am so thankful that things are getting started. I love these next two months so very much and I plan to celebrate each day to the fullest!

Have a seasonal Sunday, everyone!

Happy Anniversary!
I hope the season abounds with the warm fuzzies for you! xx

+e I never made it over to see my dad.

My chores took priority today. Bad news about my freezer; the compressor is shot and about $100.00 worth of frozen goods was tossed out. It is cleaned and uplugged now and I'll dispose of it sometime over the winter. Not in rush since I have to pay to have it taken to the dump.

I doubt I need to replace it. I'm only one person now so I can just use the freezer on top of the fridge; it's roomy enough for what I need. If I store too much, I won't use it anyway.

I tackled the guest room, but only to organize my cards and Christmas gifts. I can't do anything with it until everything is wrapped and delivered.

Kitchen is all clean.

I have a confession to make. Ever since my husband passed away, I never touched his side of the dining room table. There was a pile of paper work and his home care notebook still taking up room. I ate and worked around the "hubbins" pile.

I sorted through it properly and keeping his necessary papers together, filed them in case they are required in the future.

Strange because after he died, I switched the living room around the way I always wanted it, but I left the table the way it was. I don't think I left it there intentionally, I just focused on other things instead. It's only when I was going through the two different piles that I realized I had become a widow pack rat.

I have to admit it felt good to see the whole table again, but it wasn't easy to stuff him aside. And then it felt kind of sad because I had held onto everything for so long, yet I just completed everything at the end of September so maybe it's not so long.

A local Lutheran Church is having a warm clothing drive next month so I'll drop off his three winter coats and scarves to them.

I worked pretty steady. Next weekend I'll tackle my bedroom and the bathroom.

Unveiling all the Christmas stuff has kept it all jolly. +h

Hello everyone!!

My goodness I have missed you all. Logging onto this forum always feels like opening the door to a magical secret world but especially this morning. I never meant to be away from here for so long and I can't believe I've not been since New Year!

How are you all?? It will take me some time to catch up but I really hope you all have been well. You have all been on my mind and I have meant to pop on so many times.

Everything is good on our end. My eldest is all settled into high school and in his second year. My youngest just turned 8 and doing great. My mum was here for part of summer and left end of September. She hadn't made it over last year so it was good to have her visit. Life has been very hectic with work, the kids and everything in between. We are all settled now into the new house. Last June made it two years since we moved in but it still feels new :) As for the kittens, they are now grown up cats and doing brilliant after all their health issues as babies.

I am so excited to be back and believe me when I say I have thought of you all often. I am looking forward to spending the best time of the year with you all.

P. S. My 'Alerts' disappeared as soon as I clicked on the tab. They probably expire after a while so apologies if I have missed your reply. I have got the private messages though so thank you to those who checked in :)

::welcome Back! The Christmas door is unlatched! :ornarment

It's a jolly good sign that we're nearly "in the season" with merry regulars returning and new folks joining us.

Happy Halloween Week MMC! My Halloween Trail was awesome. It was so much fun again. The only negative is it felt about 10-15 minutes shorter this year. Maybe that was because it wasn't crowded this year (due to rain yesterday?). I'm not sure but it felt like it was a little shorter. But while we were in it...it was awesome. That's all I can say. Have a Happy Halloween Week!

Good Morning Merry Countdown dwellers! +j

Rough start to get to sleep last night, but managed to get 5 hours so I can't complain.

Getting in the shower and then having breakfast shortly before returning to work. I know I'll have half a day just sifting through emails.

Securing plans for a conference and some staff training.

Not much else going on - will roll with whatever comes my way. Something is bound to take me off my tasks today.

Have a marvelous Monday! +f Stay Jolly!

Merry Monday MMC ~
Not too much going on here today. I have a chiropractor appointment later this morning. I’m going to stop at Target on the way home to pick up Halloween candy. Back home afterward to walk the dogs again and work on chores. I also plan on making a big pot of chicken soup for dinner. That’s about it. I hope everyone has a nice day and a wonderful week ahead!!!
xx

Good Morning, Friends!
Really closing in fast on the first holiday of the season.
Just check out the chart.

Days to Halloween: 3 (UNDER HALF a week!!)
Days to the Season: 16 (Two weeks from the DAY AFTER TOMORROW!)
Days to Christmas Day: 58 (Eight weeks from the day after tomorrow!)
(Gee whiz, Guys!)

Outstanding weather for our trip to the State Fair yesterday. We could not go Saturday as originally planned, so we got it in yesterday afternoon, the final day.
It was actually almost TOO warm!
Today and tomorrow will see highs in the low to mid 70's before we cool off into the 60's for Wednesday.
Our week-starting temperature right now is 58 degrees, here.

Have a Marvelous Monday, Everyone!

So good to hear from you! I was wondering the other day what had become of you. It'll be great having you back here during the holidays (and beyond, I hope)!

Happy New Week!
We're expecting cloudy, rainy weather all week long, but I don't mind so much, 'cause I have Friday off. We're having our piano tuned, I have some dental work to be done, and then the rest of the day for whatever. I'm sure looking forward to that.

Good Morning and Happy Monday!

The week in SoCal is supposed to be in the upper 70s. I'll take it! I have a plumbing project to do today. Fingers-crossed it's a one day deal and I won't need to call real plumbers.
