Happy Saturday everybody! The final weekend of October!!!!

Well, it FINALLY happened. My wife and her sister in law PUT THEIR TREE UP yesterday!!! :) :) :)

And i got a surprise call from my mother, who told me that my grandmother wants me to come down today AND BRING HER TREE UP OUT OF THE BASEMENT!. And later today, my wife and I are going to PUT OUR TREE UP TOO!

Sorry for all the caps, i'm just so excited! I have always put our tree up on November 1st since buying our first home in 2012, and this is the earliest i have ever put it up. But this feels great. I don't know if this is just a one time thing or maybe we have found a new tradition lol. There is magic in the air today at our house.

Sounds like a super exciting weekend in your house!

Good morning, enjoying my coffee and a few minutes of relaxing with Hallmark Christmas movies on TV before the craziness of the day gets under way. Son is a band competition with the school marching band so that will take up most of today. Got to squeeze in a trip t the grocery store before that. The weather tomorrow is going be nasty, lots and lots of rain and would prefer not to have to go anywhere. Hope everyone has a great day.

Hope the competition went well!

Happy Halloween Trail MMC! This is my 3rd year in a row going to the Halloween Trail I've spoken about before. It's become one of my favorite traditions of the year. It's a lot of fun. Hopefully the rain will clear out in time for it. Have a great Halloween Trail Sunday!

Sounds fun! Enjoy!

Happy Sunday!! I am happy to report that we did indeed get our Christmas Tree up last night. And i was also given the shock of the century last night when i noticed that my dad HUNG CHRISTMAS LIGHTS ON HIS HOUSE yesterday, and i had no idea. My dad hasn't decorated outside since i was a teenager, and definitely never decorated this early! But it was wonderful! I walked across the lane and seeing all of his lights on the house and trees while i walked across brought back so many memories!

So exciting!!! -santa dance-

:snowhappyGood Merry Morning :shakeit

Cat woke me at 2:30 so I gave him a half portion of food and went back to bed. He left me alone until 6:00 - hurray!

I have chores to do this morning and then heading out to visit with my dad for a few hours.

Grandson #2 advanced to lieutenant at Fire Station 81. He doesn't have to take orders from his brother anymore, he can give direction to the crew and correspond with other EMS on the scene as necessary.

Back to work tomorrow; not completely ready - but it will all work out. It's my first 5-day work week and then I have four day work-weeks the next two so I can look forward to that.

Well, I'll need the Pines on Hump Day to get me over that mid-week hurdle.

Wonder if O'Malley and Carl have their costumes picked out already.

Keep a merry thought in your head +i

Congrats to your grandson! Enjoy the visit with your dad!

Good morning everyone! Another NFL Sunday is here, which makes me very happy. Unfortunately, my undefeated fantasy football team was handed its first loss last week, but I am hoping to bounce back today! I am slow roasting a corned beef in the oven today so I know the house will smell great. It is basically football watching and tackling mounds of laundry today for me. I hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday!

Good morning all and as mentioned earlier Happy Football Sunday. Looking forward to a MUCH cooler day around 75. Gonna grill some burgers tonight, but the rest of the day is devoted to football.

This evening I'll be cutting the pipe for the small bathroom sink. It's not draining and the plumbing is original to 1955. Hoping just cutting it all out starting at the wall will take care of the problem. By doing it Sunday night I can make an early Home Depot run tomorrow to get the parts.

Watching Hallmark Countdown to Christmas movies and doing a puzzle. Just celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary Friday. Mini pumpkins on my living room table. An orange candle lit.

Being in a stressful job as a retirement community chaplain means I often don’t feel the “warm fuzzies” I’ve realized. I know how hard life can be. But today, I’m feeling that tingling warmth that comes from the season, the love, and the joy.

I am so thankful that things are getting started. I love these next two months so very much and I plan to celebrate each day to the fullest!

Have a seasonal Sunday, everyone!

That's the spirit; the demands of your work require a special ability and a big heart. Hope we can help you with some of the fuzzzies.

Happy Belated Anniversary!

+e I never made it over to see my dad.

My chores took priority today. Bad news about my freezer; the compressor is shot and about $100.00 worth of frozen goods was tossed out. It is cleaned and uplugged now and I'll dispose of it sometime over the winter. Not in rush since I have to pay to have it taken to the dump.

I doubt I need to replace it. I'm only one person now so I can just use the freezer on top of the fridge; it's roomy enough for what I need. If I store too much, I won't use it anyway.

I tackled the guest room, but only to organize my cards and Christmas gifts. I can't do anything with it until everything is wrapped and delivered.

Kitchen is all clean.

I have a confession to make. Ever since my husband passed away, I never touched his side of the dining room table. There was a pile of paper work and his home care notebook still taking up room. I ate and worked around the "hubbins" pile.

I sorted through it properly and keeping his necessary papers together, filed them in case they are required in the future.

Strange because after he died, I switched the living room around the way I always wanted it, but I left the table the way it was. I don't think I left it there intentionally, I just focused on other things instead. It's only when I was going through the two different piles that I realized I had become a widow pack rat.

I have to admit it felt good to see the whole table again, but it wasn't easy to stuff him aside. And then it felt kind of sad because I had held onto everything for so long, yet I just completed everything at the end of September so maybe it's not so long.

A local Lutheran Church is having a warm clothing drive next month so I'll drop off his three winter coats and scarves to them.

I worked pretty steady. Next weekend I'll tackle my bedroom and the bathroom.

Unveiling all the Christmas stuff has kept it all jolly. +h

Good Evening .. sitting here watching Hocus Pocus while dinner is in the oven. Made Halloween cutout sugar cookies with the kids earlier today, well I should say they decorated some of them before then went into the oven and I did the rest lol. Have a great evening.

Good Morning, People of Celebration.
And the season of celebrations, stretching from Halloween on through New Year's Day, is nearly upon us.

Days to Halloween: 4 (Barely over HALF a week!)
Days to the Season: 17 (Now UNDER 2 1/2 weeks remain!)
Days to Christmas Day: 59 (UNDER 8 1/2 weeks to go!)
(Started getting ready, yet?)

Still the warm weather. How long can it last? For me, it's the longer the better!
We had rain overnight and today will see more, but it will still be quite warm for late October.
Our Weekend Day II has begun here in central North Carolina at 71 degrees.

Have a Super Sunday, Folks.
(And I can only hope it's super for the Panthers, as they face the undefeated 49'ers this afternoon!)

It seems as if the entire eastern side of the continent is getting rain today. It hasn't stopped here since about 10 pm last night!

Good evening, everyone!

It's been a busy day here. My recovery has been progressing much faster than I had anticipated. Yesterday, Kim and I went to see our nephew's football game about 25 minutes from our house. We brought our chairs, but I stood for the entire second half. My leg feels great! The only time I notice pain is getting out of the car or lifting my leg too high/quickly.

As for the rest of the day, I've done a bunch of cooking for dinner this week and prepared some things for school. I really want to have all my lessons planned for the entire week before the first bell goes tomorrow morning. I think I only need a couple more hours and I'll be there!

Well, I should get on that - and throw dinner in the oven. The food I've already made is - hopefully - for Monday to Wednesday... My dad will be coming up on Thursday, so we don't really need much food for then. It will be great to see him, too. I haven't seen him since my birthday at the end of April!

Have a great Sunday, everyone! Christmas is nearly all around us. Until then, we can totally watch it keep blossoming! I took some photos, I'll need to post them shortly.

It was raining heavy when I took the garbage out; it was supposed to stop, but still trickling when I finally headed out to grab a few things.

I tell myself that it is better than snow. Half of the leaves have blown off the trees out back, but I still saw some nice ones on my trip last week.

Supposed to stop overnight and we're due for more on Tuesday.
