Good Monday morning, Christmas friends!

My annual complaining about stopping Daylight Savings is in full swing. Why IN THE WORLD would anyone think we need to sun to be shining while we're getting dressed for work?!? I want daylight after I get home so I can do a few things outside!

Rant over...for now.

I hope y'all have a great day! :D
100% AGREE!!!

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!! We got the call last night that my cousin lost her battle with cancer yesterday and that my great uncle wasn’t handling his 2nd round of chemo very well. So it’s been a solemn kinda day here. I’m getting ready to kick back and enjoy the new hallmark movie though while doing some Christmas shopping online.

I'm so sorry, made. Sending love and hugs your way, and as always, keeping your family in prayer. {{{HUGS}}}

It was fun; I chatted with a crafter who I dealt with last year; she was the only one in the main hall to get money from me; I even picked up something to add to my merry pedestal; downstairs I found something unique for my brother who does quite a bit of entertaining with music celebrities.

I picked up something for the Across the Creek Neighbour.

I was hesitating about going if I had to park at the back because only the front lot is paved - I remembered that last year it was quite mucky and with the drizzle it made it an unpleasant adventure. I got a spot on the side lot; still a bit gooey, but not as bad as the back.

The continuous light drizzle has resulted in our snow melting. There was so much of it that there is still evidence, but not on the streets.

I'm glad you had a fun time!

Ralph's ramp got iced when it rained on Thursday night/Friday morning and it was a mess to clean off. I'm going to have to stock a lot of pet safe salt as it wasn't much fun slipping and sliding up and down the ramp as I tried to clear it.

Happy Monday!! We have a chilly start to the week but that is ok!!
I am off to conference tomm for work and will be back on Friday.
They are saying maybe snow Thurs into Fri...not ready for that!!
Hope you all have a great day!

Have a fun at the conference and safe travels!

Good Monday morning! David had a follow-up with his surgeon and he is now ok to work 4 days per week, with more regular and light work added to his list. His doctor is saying that by January he should be back to full-time regular work, as his progress is right on track.

In between some house chores and laundry this morning, I’m watching a Hallmark Christmas movie. They’re playing on the W network here and I recorded a couple so far, with actors that I enjoy most. This really puts me in the Christmas mood.

Hope everyone will enjoy a great start to the week!

That is great news about David's progress!
Have a fun stay-cation!

I’m so not looking forward to the time change.

Enjoy your weekend at home and prayers for your cousins husband! Hope your cough goes away quick!

This is our first weekend home since the lake opened in early April… Seems strange to be home on a Saturday but we got a lot done!! :)

have a great evening!

Hi, Holiday! It's great to see you posting!!
I usually love the time change, but this year it has thrown me way off schedule.
Thank you ~ I had a nice time at home. I worked on a project for a friend and started working my way through one of my Christmas movie DVD cases ~ saw quite a few movies/shows I've never seen before. :)
Thank you for the prayers for my cousin-in-law. The cough has gotten infrequent, so my resting has helped. Good thing as it is going to be a very busy week!
I'm glad you got a lot done this past weekend.
Have a merry week, my friend! xx

Merry Monday!

I feel as if I didn't get any sleep at all last night/this morning. Going to be a very long day and week, but at least is feels like a Monday. Working on several projects today and trying to track down something of my brother's. I've several calls in to places he had been previously and am waiting on the call backs.

The sun is shining and it is going to be a merry day! I hope your day is even merrier!!

Well I am glad the sun is up earlier in the morning. For the last couple weeks it was still dark out when my son left to walk to school. At least now when he leaves for school the sun is up.

Well got all the halloween stuff down and packed up. All the fall and Thanksgiving decorations are up except for the orange lights on the porch. Half of one strand will not light up is I will be going through and testing each bulbs (I have replacements bulbs). Got our free turkey over the weekend for Thanksgiving. Hoping to get one more turkey before Thanksgiving to use at Christmas.

I'm glad there's an upside to it!!

I hope everybody had a spooooktacular Halloween!!!
Alas, no. We had our usual zero trick or treaters. There were four little ones going door to door, with adults, on the side street as we drove home through the neighborhood, but that was it. When I went out to collect the trash can, recycle can, and the mail no one was out. The 32 degree temperature before wind probably has something to do with it.

I spent the weekend about two and a half hours north of home on a senior high retreat, this past weekend. We had raging flurries on and off Friday evening and all day Saturday, but everyone had a great time.

Saturday afternoon was filled with a football tournament, a dodgeball tournament, gopher ball, carpet ball, floor hockey, laser tag, dodge archery, etc. We worked our physical and spiritual muscles.

Monday morning and it's back to work for me. SoCal temps projected to be around 82.

Over the weekend we got Fall/Halloween down and packed away. We emptied two cupboards and two "steamer" trunks of Christmas and started to place those decorations. We ordered a new Christmas tree for the kitchen. We will start getting the stuff out of the Christmas shed this evening and throughout the week.

Hello all,
I hope you all survived Halloween and now things are ramping up for the holidays. There's already been a Christmas market in the next town over and I'm going to one on the 15, so things are beginning to look a lot like Christmas.

Now that Halloween is over, that means there's new stamps for the holidays. Here they are:

They look so festive. The red reindeer is for domestic mail (anywhere in Canada), the blue nutcracker dancers are for the US, and the green partridge is for international. I still have a few left over from last year, but I'm looking forward to getting the new ones soon.

I've also picked up the Christmas Fix It and Forget It cookbook for the slow cooker. It's been out for a few years but there are some great recipes for getting a head start on the holidays. Tonight there's baked pumpkin pie in there for dessert. Can't wait. The house is already filled with the smells of cinnamon and nutmeg.

I've also started binging my Hallmark movies. Three so far, but the season has just started.

Have a great start of the week and I'll drop by soon.

Good Monday Morning, Friends!

This is the LAST full week before our Christmas Season begins on November 13.
And speaking of that, there is still one slot open in the Special Post Series, which begins now in just FOUR days. (Can you believe it??)
Volunteer now or forever hold your narrative (at least until next year).

The new numbers to start the new week:
Days to the Season: 9 (SINGLE DIGITS!!)
Days to Thanksgiving: 24 (Now UNDER 3 1/2 weeks!)
Days to Christmas Day: 51 (Seven weeks from the day after tomorrow!)
Wow. Exciting days are are drawing nigh!

Chilly here during the day over the weekend, but really not bad for early November. Plenty of sun and no rain at all.
We should be in the mid 60's to a maximum of 70 for the next few days for the high before really chilly weather arrives late in the week.
Our week-starting temperature here this morning is 40 degrees.

Have a Marvelous Monday, Folks!

It's so close - just zooming by. +a

Thanks for keeping your pulse on the countdown again, Crown.

I started work early so I could run an errand and when I came out of the shop at 5:00 p.m. the street lights were already on and it was dark enough to cause me to reach for my special night driving glasses that help me see better in the dark and reduce the glare of the vehicle lights so I don't get a migraine. I am with you on that rant; the cat also doesn't observe daylight savings so he still wants me up at the usual time so I don't get to take advantage of the extra hour.
