Congratulations on your anniversary!!! How many years?
Good morning everyone! Can't believe it is Tuesday already. My husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary over the weekend and yesterday I drove to meet my sister and pick up my mom so she can spend Thanksgiving week with us. I have been busy this morning assembling a dessert care package for my brother and his family that he will pick up this morning. Thank goodness I bake ahead of time and freeze stuff. I packed a loaf of pumpkin bread, walnut fudge, snickers fudge, a batch of cake mix bars, a batch of rice krispie treats, and a mix of dark chocolate chip cookies, chocolate peanut butter chip cookies, and (my favorite) ginger molasses cookies. 90% of that I made ahead of time and froze in advance. Good thing too or they would not have received much! But I love to send over cookies and things to my nieces and nephews and some of my brother's girlfriend's family will be in town for Thanksgiving so I always make a big batch of desserts to send over! Tonight we are taking my mom through a local drive-thru Christmas lights display and then will pick up takeout Chinese for dinner. We will go get our live tree tomorrow morning which is my favorite part of the week and then I will decorate and start to cook the rest of the day! Hope everyone has a wonderful and safe day!
Last evening...When what to our wondering eyes did appear, almost all of the neighborhood Christmas lights were lit up. HERE! HERE! Naturally, we had to turn ours on three nights earlier than scheduled. Oh, darn...Good evening, all! Hope you're all having a great Monday!

BONUS: We turned down the alley, to head to our home, and were greeted by a fully lit evergreen in the yard across from our driveway. We're talking traditional color C9s. A visual treat, to be sure....![]()

Evening MMC! Hectic day due to one of the kids having a doc appt. School is out now for 5 days (grits teeth) Just doing odds and ends for the big turkey day coming up and wondering if I forgot anything.
Well, we landed about 48 hours ago and I'm still tired. Probably will be for a couple of days. Had to spend Monday and Tuesday at the office, but left today about 2:00. I couldn't stand it, anymore. I had to get out in the Thanksgiving crowd and feel the warmth and excitement in the air. It was busy...then all of the sudden it wasn't. Somebody (me) didn't pay close attention to the weather and I got caught in a downpour!!!!!
No worries, though. Can't dampen my spirit. Tomorrow is one of my favorite days of the year. I love the feeling of preparing for Thanksgiving. The food, the family, the movies, and the music. Tomorrow will be a good day!
I'm cooking some candy and I'm trying a new cupcake.....ooey gooey cupcakes. I can't wait. I'm also cooking breakfast for everyone on my griddle. I will probably start the fire about 6:00, drink some coffee, and have breakfast on the grill at 7:00. We are having bacon, cheese, egg, and ham sandwiches on toast with pancakes on the side. Yummy!!
See yall for coffee in the morning.
Ha! It sure still feels like we are!Newlyweds!!!!
Thank you!Happy Anniversary! Sounds like you guys have a lot of fun in store. Enjoy the next couple of days!
Sounds very festive and you've been a busy baker.
Congratulations on your anniversary.
Hope everyone enjoys their Thanksgiving feast/desserts and decorations.
