Well, we landed about 48 hours ago and I'm still tired. Probably will be for a couple of days. Had to spend Monday and Tuesday at the office, but left today about 2:00. I couldn't stand it, anymore. I had to get out in the Thanksgiving crowd and feel the warmth and excitement in the air. It was busy...then all of the sudden it wasn't. Somebody (me) didn't pay close attention to the weather and I got caught in a downpour!!!!!

No worries, though. Can't dampen my spirit. Tomorrow is one of my favorite days of the year. I love the feeling of preparing for Thanksgiving. The food, the family, the movies, and the music. Tomorrow will be a good day!

I'm cooking some candy and I'm trying a new cupcake.....ooey gooey cupcakes. I can't wait. I'm also cooking breakfast for everyone on my griddle. I will probably start the fire about 6:00, drink some coffee, and have breakfast on the grill at 7:00. We are having bacon, cheese, egg, and ham sandwiches on toast with pancakes on the side. Yummy!!

Happy Thanksgiving Eve!! I am working today but it will be a slow day so that is nice and I am so excited to prep..we are picking up our turkey from the butcher later and then I will make my stuffing later. Hope you all have a great day!

Good Morning, Folks!
Thanksgiving. It's almost here. Really!

Days to Thanksgiving: 1 (TOMORROW!)
Days to Christmas Day: 28 (Four Weeks from TODAY!)
(Nearly down to a single count number, Guys!)

Pretty decent here yesterday, with highs in the 60's, lots of sun, no rain and no wind to speak of.
One more day of this (today) before our high drops about ten degrees for Thanksgiving Day, tomorrow.
Right now, we stand at 53 degrees here in the central part of North Carolina and it's a bit overcast.

Well, say now. It's mid-week which means 'Pines day open house.
It's also the day before Thanksgiving, which means Carl and crew have worked their annual miracle. For this one day, the inn has magically transformed to a full-on Thanksgiving theme. Turkey ornaments everywhere, Pilgrims, harvest-festive decor, pumpkin pie (and a rumor of pumpkin-flavored coffee blends).
The fired twinkies are brown and gold frosted.
And the dinner. Oh, the dinner!
You simply must come and partake of the feast Everyone, and be sure to compliment our activites director for his hard work!

Happy Thanksgiving Eve, MMC!! It’s a crazy windy day here. Thankfully I don’t have any where to go. The only thing on my agenda is more prep work for tomorrow. I’m going to make up my baked corn, cheesy green bean casserole, and I’m trying a new make ahead mashed potatoes recipe. Then later tonight I’ll inject my turkey and get my stuffing ready. I need to clean some too. If I can get all that done, tomorrow should be pretty easy. I hope everyone has a great day!!

I remembered the turkey(s). They had a serious sale on them that made a 15+ lb turkey cheaper than a whole chicken. Just happened I had a extra chest freezer in the garage being occupied with venison so I filled it up with turkeys.

Thanks Crown! We have 3 local turkey shoots I am hitting up today. They count your pellet holes in the paper turkey. Last year we had protesters that hated the charity and paper turkey shooting.
