Good morning all!
Today is a normal Sunday mostly. Laundry, school prep, Christmas music/movies, and Brown's football. With the weather forecast, the school prep might be all for nothing. (which is ok with me ;))
This is the last week of school before break, and Wednesday and Thursday are semester exams. Friday is supposed to be a "fun" day and early dismissal.

However, with the current weather forecast that might change a bit. We are expecting a couple of inches of snow tonight and into Monday morning. We currently have a winter weather advisory for tonight and the morning. Then, it is going to stop snowing through the day. They originally said we would get rain during the day, but that looks like it will stay south. Then, Monday evening and night we are supposed to get another 2-3 inches of snow. Soooo... when all is said and done, we might end up with Monday and Tuesday off! Granted none of that is a lot of snow, but the timing is what is important. Plus, I teach at a rural school district so the buses have to travel a lot of roads that never see salt or a plow.

:snowball

I am ready for the snow! Henry is also preparing for his normal snow rituals tonight to help increase the probability of a snow day. Those rituals include, but are in no way limited to the following: Pajamas inside out, flushing ice cubes down the toilet, sleeping with a spoon under the pillow, and doing a funny dance (wearing underwear only) in front of an open freezer. The kid takes his duties as snow maker seriously! :D

Anyone started shopping yet ? For 2020? I have. Yabba!

We struggled mightily this year getting everything purchased in time. And When i say, "In Time", i realize that it's a week and a half until the Big Day, but it is too close for my comfort to only now be finishing up. For Christmas season 2018, we purchased a gift for someone every other week or so, and were totally finished Around May / June of 2018. For those wondering, my wife has a huge family to buy for.

We agreed about a week or so ago, when we were still early in December, that right after New Year's, we will begin shopping for Christmas 2020. Glad to hear i'm not alone on that idea!

I hope everyone is doing well! I'm still sick and now my husband has it, so it's been antibiotics and soup and lots of TV for us the past few days. I'm still not feeling great but I am in slight panic mode that I only have one full week left before Christmas week! We have tickets to see the Nutcracker ballet this week and that is one tradition I refuse to miss now matter how I feel!! So I plan on resting again today (which I would have anyway because of football!) and hopefully I start to bounce back this week! Hope everyone has a great and safe Sunday!

Good Morning, Folks!

Back in action after a visit to Charlotte to see my niece's husband graduate from UNC-Charlotte and visit with my 10-month-old great nephew.

And another heart-felt THANKS to our own Edge for taking over the count yesterday morning!

But just look at our remaining count data!
Days to Christmas Day: 10 (SINGLE DIGITS FROM TOMORROW!!)
Holy Holly and Mistletoe, Batman!

Cold and rainy for the entire trip to Charlotte Friday, with highs in the mid 30's. Better for the return trip yesterday. It was still cloudy but no rain fell and it was about ten degrees warmer.
Today will see us in the upper 50's, with mid 60's for tomorrow and Tuesday. No rain is predicted for either day.
We commence this second half of the weekend at 39 degrees here in the capital city.

Have a Super Sunday, Everybody and good luck with your NFL team of choice, today!
Thanks Crown! Happy Serious Christmassy Sunday!

Whew ... finished the Christmas recording sessions Friday and yesterday and finally got the front-room tree decorated this morning. I have laundry going, but otherwise would really like to take a breather. Later in the week some baking and wrapping will begin. In between comes my last workweek of the year!

Just put a big pot of chili on the stove! This is the first time I have had the chance to make chili this fall/winter. I usually try to make chili in the fall when the weather first turns, but just too busy this year.
The house is already starting to smell like the wonderful chili! :D
Bring some up my way! Sounds yummy!

Haha! I have been there Crown, thats in Raleigh! Seriously good eats can be had there along with beverages!

Small world. Yes, indeed it is. In a little shopping center called Oak Park. I go there every year to get photos for the Blossoms thread!

Well, the snow is falling. It started about 2 hours ago and we already have 2 inches of snow. I think the local news underestimated this storm. I have been following it for a while and thought it would lead to more accumulation than they were saying. I am hoping I wake up to 4 inches of snow and a phone call closing school for the day!

We were only supposed to get 3 inches tonight and we’ve got 4 so far and it’s still snowing.

It is really kinda funny. I follow winter storms coming into my area every year and have gotten pretty good at reading the various models and putting together forecasts. I also follow a couple of other amateur meteorologists who are pretty good. They and I all had more snow forecast with this storm than any of the local stations. Several of my wife's coworkers have me send them a forecast before storms because they trust me over the pros. LOL

I kept second guessing myself this time around because I was way off from the news stations. Turns out I was right after-all! :D

I hope all you are enjoying the season so far. I can't believe December is half over. I'm going to try to slow down and enjoy every evening with my family for an hour or two. Tonight we watched National Lampoons Christmas Vacation and it was the first time for my oldest daughter. She loved it as expected.
Have a good week all.

Happy Monday Morning MMC! We got a surprise snow storm last night, it was only calling for a coating to maybe a dusting, but it snowed at least an inch so far, and it is supposed to snow today until about 5 pm! I am actually going outside here in about 45 minutes, and turn on all my Christmas lights so i can take pictures of our house and grounds covered in Snow!

Merry Monday MMC!
It will be a pretty busy day for me. Rocky has a groomer appointment this morning. I’m seeing my chiropractor afterward. I’m also going to do some Christmas shopping and visit my parents this afternoon. Back home to work on chores and make beef stew for dinner. I hope everyone has a nice day and a great week ahead!!!
xx

Good Monday morning, Christmas friends!

It was a super-busy weekend again, and I wish this week would go a little slower, but it's not gonna happen.

While at her dress rehearsal for Nutcracker last Thursday, Elizabeth lost the key to her car. And it was the spare key, since Nancy lost the first key a couple years ago. It's a push-button start, and the replacement key was $400, so I didn't buy it back then. Now I'm up against the wall LOL. I ordered a replacement Friday, and it should arrive today, so I have to go try to program it this afternoon. What ever happened to turning a physical key?!?

Anyway, Friday we went to see Elizabeth in the Nutcracker.

Saturday, we moved Jacob from his first apartment to another apartment on Saturday (after I had to buy a new battery for my truck...grrr).

Then yesterday we went to two church services, lunch at IHOP, the Nutcracker again, then our church Christmas party. Whew.

We have Bernie's store party tomorrow night, my office party Thursday night, and Nancy's office party Friday night. Woohoo!

I hope y'all have a great day! :D

Good Morning, Everyone.
A new week.
The VERY LAST full week before Christmas!
(Can it be? Can it truly be??)

Checking the chart:
Days to Christmas Day: 9 (SINGLE DIGITS!!)
And when single digits are reached, you know Christmas is almost here!

Warmer yesterday, with highs in the low 60's. No rain either.
Today and tomorrow should be even warmer, with highs in the mid 60's.
Today will be dry but the rains are predicted to return for tomorrow.
Right now, we begin this final full festive week before Christmas at 47 degrees.

Have a Marvelous Monday, Folks.
Enjoy this week to the absolute fullest!
