WEEKS TO OCTOBER: 34
WEEKS TO HALLOWEEN: 38

Good Morning! It was a fantastic Jack O Lantern Day yesterday. The snow made things interesting, but I tried to enjoy the day nonetheless, to take in the uniqueness of the situation. I don't think we will see another snow-covered JOL Day in 2021, only possibly on March 31st. But it was still a great day. Always worth it to hear the Halloween tunes, smell the pumpkin, taste the cider, and see the Jack O Lantern.

Even though the week counts are both still in the 30's, i'm starting to get excited to see that "Weeks to October" count get in the 20's, and it will be soon. I think what is weighing on m mind, at least for the next few weeks, is how we are continuing to narrow the distance toward half way. We're under 3 months now. February goes by so fast, essentially I'll feel by March that we are standing on the doorstep to the halfway point. And the great thing is that all of this coincides with the arrival of Spring, and the beginning of Christmas hunting. To borrow @The_Escalation 's term, the "Christmas Triumvirate", will begin to take form soon.

Hope everybody has a great Monday! We are on the back end of the snow storm now and supposed to get 3 - 6 more inches today before it is all done early this evening. Have a great day!

Any volunteers to bring us a Seasonal Candy of the Week tomorrow? If not, I'll see what I've got in my candy dish.

JoL Day #1 was a small but fun time here! I'm hoping to ramp things up a little bit each successive JoL Day until we reach October, so for the March 31st celebration I want to go bigger and better. A wrench kind of got thrown in the works when we had to go to both my parents' house and my wife grandmother's house to help each of them with tech-related problems. But...I had my pumpkin spice Cheerios, as noted in my post yesterday evening, and before bedtime we got to enjoy the first Harry Potter film as part of Dark Arts Sunday.

(Just had a humorous thought. Imagine going to church on Sunday morning and having someone ask what your plans are for the day, only to respond, "I'm participating in Dark Arts Sunday!" That might not go over well.)

Gotta get to work now, but I hope you all have a wonderful day today!

Your humorous thought made me want to share a time I made a faux pas! I was asked by a friend of a friend to make a presentation on how to make a blanket out of t-shirts (t-shirt quilt) and I agreed, not realizing that it was for a church ladies league. The quilt I happened to be working on was for a high school student who had attended a high school that had Devils as their mascot, so there I was unfurling the blanket and there were at least 4 devils' heads and the word devil at least 5 times. LOL!

Now that's funny!!! :D

Good Morning and Happy Tuesday! Is this week going to go by fast or slow? That's what I wonder now that we are in the new month. I think yesterday went by pretty fast.

I just noticed on our count, the next couple of days will see "Days to Halloween", and "Days to October 1st" enter into the 260's, and 230's, respectively. Wow. Pretty soon we will be ushering in new milestones for them both. I'm already thinking about how great all of the counts will look just a month from now!

Hope everyone has a great day!

It's Tuesday again, so it's time to highlight what could be filling our plastic pumpkin buckets this time of year with the Seasonal Candy of the Week!

This week's spotlight is on one candy that has actually been around in years past, but I feel it's underappreciated. Furthermore, they come in a variety of shapes outside of Valentine's Day too. I'm talking about the humble Reese's Peanut Butter Heart.

Now let's be honest: the miniature cups are great any time of the year, but there's something to be said for ditching the cup mold in favor of hearts, eggs, pumpkins, and as we saw this past year, Christmas lights. There's usually more peanut butter in the shape format too, and who doesn't want more peanut butter?

What's your favorite Reese's shape? Are the cups irreplaceable for you, or do you have a favorite seasonal shape? Let's discuss!

I think there is a different ratio of chocolate to peanut butter in the regular cups, the mini-cups and the different shapes. Generally the shapes seem to have less chocolate and more peanut butter. I like that. The Easter ones seem to have the least chocolate. But all of this is just me.

Morning Halloween Fans! After shoveling 22 inches of snow I believe that I have earned some Halloween candy. What do you think? I still have some believe it or not. Have a great day!

Good Morning! And just like that, we are on the verge of seeing two counts take on a very different "feel".

Days to Halloween, TOMORROW, will enter into the 260's, on the way to the magical 250 day milestone.

Days to October 1st, TOMORROW, will enter into the 230's, on the way to the 250 day milestone. Are you getting what I'm trying to tell you? Be here tomorrow!

Like our Good Friend Cedar Grove pointed out yesterday, today is Imbolc, an ancient holiday that celebrates the roughly halfway point between the winter solstice and the spring equinox. Specifically, the point where now, no matter what the groundhog said yesterday, we are now marching towards Spring at a steady clip!

Hope everyone has a great Tuesday!

I still have some too. But the way this winter is going for us in the Intermountain West, if I have to wait to shovel 22 inches of snow to get to eat any of it, I'll still have it next Halloween -santa dance-

Good Morning and Happy Thursday! Or as folks in our office call it, Mini Friday!

I guess since it is now Thursday, this 1st week of February has indeed went by fast.

Marching towards spring now, that's what we're up to. Take a look at our counts this morning. As promised, we now are in the 260's on "Days to Halloween", and have now entered the 230's on "Days to October 1st", respectively. Doesn't seem possible, October seems so far away now. But just like Imbolc that we observed yesterday, in 85 days we reach our own Halfway Point. October might still feel far away, but we are marching TO it and not away from it.

Have a great day folks!

Since October 1st is on a Friday, we will probably decorate on Saturday.
So... 240 days until we decorate for Halloween!

Morning Halloween Fans! Ya know I have Halloween candy leftover but I also have Christmas candy leftover. I'm not sure which I like better. Ok I'll say it...Halloween Candy is still #1. Have a great day!
