At my old house, I had tons of violets. Should have been smart enough to transplant some before I left. I have a couple of shady spots where they would be perfect.

Deep blue. Every year, they would propagate and I would have to dig them out of the lawn. My grandmother, who had a green thumb (which I did not inherit) grew African violets, which are notoriously hard to grow, and had them in all her window sills--which means any kind of violets have a soft spot for me.
