Too easy! "D" for me, for sure. It's my favorite summer event. I get more excited about the 50-Day Preview of The Bers than the fireworks on the fourth. Can't wait!

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 161
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 139
DAYS TILL THE BERS: 78

Happy Mid-June! Today folks we have 161 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 139 days to go until November, and 78 days left until The Bers. Our next milestones will be next week on Wednesday (Arrival of Summer) and Thursday (Tom Turkey Day #7). A big week ahead next week but let’s focus on THIS week. And we move ahead in our Summer Sweatfest with our #1 feature of the week: Thanksgiving Thought Thursday!

I’m so not ready for Thanksgiving. I know that sounds weird but I’m glad we’re in June. As special as Thanksgiving is it kind of is fitting to be one day a year. I think it’s too special to have more than once a year but our Mini-Thanksgiving we’ve done once and hope to do twice I think fits perfectly.

I always remember the guy who tried to celebrate Christmas every day. Eat a turkey, open presents under his tree etc…if it becomes a routine it’s not as special. Turkey fans you’re all special for being here all year long and journeying together towards Thanksgiving all year long. Keep it real all my turkey friends. Enjoy your Thursday and have the best day that you possibly can hopefully not sweating too much. Have a great Mid-June!

My Thanksgiving thought for today is thinking about when I was in Costco last weekend, I always look in the coolers for the cheesecakes, and to look and see if they have the mac and cheese (Which they always have both, I don't know why I look each time, I think it started during the pandemic). Anyway, one of the other things that will be coming soon, is their chicken noodle soup. It is made from the rotisserie chicken and the soup itself is delicious. It's always a staple of their fall / winter lineup, and I get excited the first time I see all the containers stacked up in the coolers.

That doesn't technically have to do with Thanksgiving, so I'm sorry, but when the soups arrive Thanksgiving is not very far away. I went through some of my photos and Costco started getting Thanksgiving / Holiday stuff last year around the middle of August, so we are truly truly not far away as far as retail / stores go. Have a great day!

Christmas, every day!?!? That would definitely start feeling like a chore pretty quickly. Since being here, I am loving the way we celebrate Rudolph Days, Tom Turkey Days, and JOL Days and it has helped the year long wait be less drab. And even before COVID, I had noticed that some of my traditions needed to evolve and at first I resented it but MMC has helped me in so many ways!

I was just looking at the counts and thought to myself, where were we 200 days ago? It was Nov. 27th, the Sunday after Thanksgiving and we were just four weeks from Christmas Day. I looked back at the 2022 Christmas Countdown thread at what I had written, and I was getting ready for my back surgery. It was supposed to be on the 28th, but the doctor had a sniffle and didn't want that to affect his abilities. So it was postponed a week. We've come a long way since then. Only 161 days to go.

That is a very cool logo!

My Thanksgiving thought for this Thursday:

I have been on a low sodium, low cholesterol diet since the end of last month, thanks to my doctor's concerns about my high blood pressure. I actually do feel much better since I started it, so I don't have any grumblings against my doctor for putting me on the diet -- it's something I've needed to do for a long time now. However, decadent food is a thing of the past, because even something like a BBQ link has way too much sodium for me to consume now. It's amazing when you start looking at the nutrition information and see just how much sodium is crammed into everything we eat!

However...

I am totally cheating on Thanksgiving Day. I don't plan to go crazy and eat myself into oblivion, mind you, but I am gonna still have my usual Popeye's cajun turkey with all the fixings, and I gotta have my baked mac and cheese. It's the one day of the year that I won't feel bad about cheating on my diet. And I'll jump back on the low sodium bandwagon once it's over, promise.

DAYS TILL THE BERS: 77

Happy 2nd Half Of June! Today folks we have 160 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 138 days to go until November, and 77 days remaining until The Bers. Our next milestone(s) will be NEXT week Wednesday and Thursday. You know it will be the Arrival of Summer followed the next day by Tom Turkey Day #7. Let’s not get there though. Let’s talk about where we are right now in our Summer Sweatfest and the start of our 3-day quiet period/weekend. I hope you all are enjoying your time and having the best things going on today here in a non-turkey day. But every day here is turkey isn’t it? That’s why we have this thread. Hopefully you all enjoyed the 4 big topic days this week and now we’re here relaxing on part 1 of 3 in our quiet weekend period. It should be fun and good to enjoy the most that we possibly can. And I hope you’re here all weekend to check back and see how everything is going. And checking on all our counts of course. And hanging out on a quiet weekend here in this thread. All come back here looking for turkey all weekend long. You never know folks because you may find what you’re looking for if you look hard enough and close enough. Gobble Gobble everyone! Have a great 2nd Half Of June!
