I still need that big weather change to get into that Thanksgiving state of mind. That usually occurs sometime in October when the temperature cools off even further than were it is now. Mid 70s just does not do it for me yet. Not having the leaves changed does not help either. It will not be long until the Thanksgiving switch happens.

I start seriously thinking about Thanksgiving around mid-October when I start buying the early grocery items. I buy early so that I don’t have fight the crowds and everything is in stock.

Coming here this weekend...time to put the shorts away sadly.

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 62
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 40

Happy Farewell To Summer! Today folks we have 62 days remaining until Thanksgiving and 40 days to go until November. Our next milestone will be Saturday folks when we welcome in the Arrival of Autumn. Amazing. That is tomorrow folks but do not look towards tomorrow. Enjoy today. A wise man once said that. So what do we have today? We have our Awesome Autumn time period we started at the beginning of this month. And what else do we have today? We have the beginning of another 3-day quiet weekend period. Folks I’m not going to lie and I hate to say this but for some reason September this year is going alarmingly fast to me. I know time goes too fast to begin with but the months of January and July at least felt like they took their time. August seemed to speed up and now we’re flying it feels like. Maybe it’s just me. Turkey fans it’s alarming that we’re accelerating isn’t it? I’ll ask Rich to hit the brakes for us. We really are starting autumn tomorrow folks. Believe it or not we’ll be in NEXT YEAR’S THREAD and it will still be autumn. That shows you how it’s kind of scary where we are going now. But it’s also exciting…very exciting. Keep it real turkey fans. Be safe. Have fun. Have a great Farewell To Summer!

I know exactly how you feel. I feel exactly the same way about September. Some years it seems like it takes its time, but this year and last year, it flew. I am so glad there is still all of October, November, and December to go. Have a great Friday! So long summer!

"Alarmingly" is right...I can't believe how fast September has gone by. Our school district's homecoming game is already taking place this weekend, and so far this month I've only listened to my usual Peanuts soundtrack once. I need to get on the ball.

I agree, the first half of the year is slower as we are not a busy but once August hit time definitely feels like it is flying by. We are way busier this time of the year with marching band camp, practices, HS football games, marching band competitions and handling fund raisers for the marching band. This is our final year of it so I am hoping next year will be a little slower. Right now some days I am on the go from the time I get up until I go to bed at night. It makes it hard to enjoy the Bers when I am so busy.

I will start pumping the brakes right now. This thing needs to slow down a bit or I'm going to miss it all.

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 61
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 39

Happy Autumn Arrives! Today folks we have 61 days remaining until Thanksgiving and 39 days to go until November. It’s Milestone Day folks (and a Saturday woohoo). We have reached the Arrival of Autumn. The best of the 4 seasons (and the one Thanksgiving falls in) has begun. Unreal isn’t it? I love it folks. And I know all of you do as well. Enjoy it my friends. Our next milestone? It will be on Thursday. You know what milestones normally fall on Thursdays right? Tom Turkey Day! But not just any Tom Turkey Day folks. The 10th Tom Turkey Day (of 11). That means we only have 1 more to go after this one folks before you know what. If that don’t make you shake your head or slap yourself into reality of where we are then nothing will. Will it? Turkey fans I hope you had a great 1st day of our quiet 3-day weekend period and I hope today treats you equally as well and that you enjoy the 2nd day of this quiet 3-day period stretch we do each and every week Friday through Sunday. It has to be awesome though to be in autumn today. Just waking up this morning I felt so excited about it knowing we are here. To me when I think of The Bers I think of Autumn. And for good reason. The entire Autumn season falls in The Bers (and is the bulk of The Bers). Turkey fans enjoy your Saturday. Have a great Autumn Arrives!

Oh my gosh, we're only two Tom Turkey Days away from the real deal?! I feel like I still have so much planning to do.

I always feel like Thanksgiving is imminent when Walmart puts out that middle section over in the grocery side with all of the seasonal baking stuff. Right now our local Walmart has one with tons of Halloween stuff on it.

Tomorrow we are having a turkey dinner for Rudolph Day Eve. Throw in some Hash Brown casserole, and some sparkling cider, and we can just "almost" pretend that it is Thanksgiving! It will be here soon enough!

Have a great day!

Sounds delicious! Gobble, gobble!

The weather Is perfectly fall like today. It really has put it me in a mood for turkey. Tonight we are doing our Oktoberfest feast so turkey will have to wait and sausage will be front in center. I now really regret passing on those smoked turkey legs last week at the covered bridge festival.
