Hello my friends! It's good to be back.

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 50
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 28

Happy October Mid-Week! Today folks we have 50 days remaining until Thanksgiving and 28 days to go until The Bers. Folks – This is the final step I call it. Today is the Final Fifty till Thanksgiving. I know 50 days is a lot of days (a ton) but the reason I say it is because these next 50 days folks are the essence of autumn and then we move right into the holiday season. My goodness. Let’s slow things down with today’s poll in our Awesome Autumn time period we are in!
  • Which 2 months do you think link the most together?
  • September/October
  • October/November
  • November/December
  • I don’t think any of those link together (they are all individual months)
  • I’m going to surprise myself and pick B. I say that because I ALWAYS as a kid would have chosen A. I always linked September/October. And as an adult I would normally say C because November/December is the holiday season. But honestly as a total autumn guy I really have started linking October/November more the past several years on MMC following Halloween/Thanksgiving threads more closely than any other threads. Just my opinion. What about you? Have a great October Mid-Week!

This is a little bit of a tough one.

I am going to agree with @Rich here.

I am going with A. September and October give me that autumn and Halloween vibe and then a big shift happens November 1st.

Personally November and December would be second with the Christmas spirit happening but that happens towards the latter half of the month.

October and November just have so much different feels to them to link totally together.

D really would not be a bad answer either.

These are always great polls that make you think.

D for me. I like to think of the Bers as one, cohesive unit, and when I don't, each month has something about it that makes it unique. September: Sweet Spot. October: Spooky Season. November: Thanksgiving Season. December: Christmas Season and Winter.

If I were to link two of them in my mind, it would be C, simply because my Christmas decorations go up on November 1st, which makes my Christmas season extend across November and December.

I thought more people would default to D.

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 49
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 27

Happy Spooky October! Today folks we have 49 days remaining until Thanksgiving and 27 days to go until November. Our next milestone will fall not for another 2 and a half weeks folks but it will the Home Stretch till November. Oh man. It’s hard to believe that isn’t it? But it won’t happen the rest of this week. So no rushing for that. And we get to just enjoy here in our Awesome Autumn our Thanksgiving Thought Thursday as usual!

Do you ever try to replicate Thanksgiving in your mind? I’m sure you do. I do. Like I was thinking yesterday about what it was like Thanksgiving and how it really feels (that day). It’s easy to remember really but a little hard too only because it’s such a long time since Thanksgiving. Yet, in a way I hate to say it but it feels like yesterday and I have a clear feeling and vision in my mind of what it felt like and hopefully what it will feel like this year.

When you think about something all year long like we do we’re able to keep the feeling of Thanksgiving more than most people do. I’m glad for that because I want to remember and be prepared when it comes to know what to expect and how awesome it will feel. Have a great Spooky October!

I actually think Thanksgiving, for as much as I do think about it, It's actually really hard to emulate the exact feelings / moments, even as much as I think about it in my head. Even on Tom Turkey day where I try my best to give myself a little "slice" of Thanksgiving, I think it's difficult. But still fun. Tom Turkey days got a lot easier when the NFL season came back and we had Thursday night games, and I got into the habit of playing old football games on my "regular" Tom Turkey Days. Throw in a Martinelli's Sparkling Cider, and eat something turkey, and we're almost there! But not quite!

I think that's what makes the "actual" holidays so special. We scratch the itch with Jack O Lantern Day, Tom Turkey Day, and Rudolph Days, but the actual holidays themselves are like the main course meal. And they are always just as special when they come around again! Have a great day!

I think about Thanksgiving often and how it feels on that day. It's a special feeling, and sometimes I can recapture small moments here and there, but there's nothing like the real day itself.

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 48
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 26

Happy October TGIF! Today folks we have 48 days remaining until Thanksgiving & 26 days to go until November. Our next milestone will be the Home Stretch till November. But that isn’t for 16 long days still. I hope they’re long days because they’re October days as we move along in our Awesome Autumn here. And now beginning our 3-day quiet weekend period. I know I repeat this but the 4-days we have of topics I really do think are perfect. And sounds like everyone agrees. I am fully focused on making this thread as good as possible. I’ve said it before but this is my favorite thread to post in. No offense to the others I do post in but this has become my favorite the last few years. I’d probably put Halloween thread second. What can I say? I’m as much, if not more, a Halloween/Thanksgiving person than I am Christmas. Of course, ask me that in December when I’m feeling the full Christmas spirit and am blown away by all of the fun and amazing times we have together. Turkey fans I hope your week has gone well and that today it finishes up nice and strong. I wish for all of you to have a great day. And thank you for being here on this Friday as we begin our quiet long weekend period. Enjoy your Friday. Have a great October TGIF!

Loving the 3-day weekend. Wish I could make it a 4-day weekend by getting Monday off, but alas, I'm not that lucky. I'll take 3, though.

We are having gumbo this weekend to celebrate the first cool snap, and next weekend we'll make another batch of mac and cheese. It's not quite Thanksgiving food, but it's the next best thing!
