I think kids saying Halloween and Christmas will definitely make those two knock Thanksgiving down to 3rd place. My great-nephew alone says Halloween enough times to cancel out all my Thanksgivings out!
Hmmm, I think your wife thinks you just like a reason to make mac and cheese.Happy Tom Day! Only one more to go before the magic of Thanksgiving!
I told my wife last night that it's time to do another test batch of mac and cheese. She just rolled her eyes and laughed and said, "Don't you have this down by now?" And she's right...I could probably make mac and cheese in my sleep, but the selection of the cheese blend is important! I just like to experiment with different blends and see which ones taste the best.
Me too!I go for one a year, also. To be honest, I also think Thanksgiving is in the perfect spot. I like having the Big Three lined up about a month apart from each other.
Good point about kids!I think kids saying Halloween and Christmas will definitely make those two knock Thanksgiving down to 3rd place. My great-nephew alone says Halloween enough times to cancel out all my Thanksgivings out!
She's not wrong.Hmmm, I think your wife thinks you just like a reason to make mac and cheese.![]()
Seconded. The "3-Day Weekend" is nice. I like the extra day to just think turkey thoughts. And I have a lot of those lately.I've mentioned it before, but I enjoy the every week "3 day weekend" here in this thread. A nice little break from any serious topics or conversations, and we all come back energized and ready to resume the "hardcore" counting down when Mondays arrive again.
Have a great Friday!

I think we're staying with the format. It seems really to work well.Seconded. The "3-Day Weekend" is nice. I like the extra day to just think turkey thoughts. And I have a lot of those lately.
The menu is the best anticipation!Enjoying this final day of September is my priority today too and to get a lot done. I am taking next Friday off so I can have a four day weekend and try to split the time between prepping for cold weather and enjoying October! After that the Thanksgiving thoughts will hit full force, especially deciding on a menu and watching to see what take and make meals my local grocery stores offer.
I would love something like that on the Wednesday.Happy October! To quote Game of Thrones, "and now my watch begins". It may be a bit early but I will start checking (and double checking) grocery flyers and websites for sales and announcements about Thanksgiving. Last year I bought a Thanksgiving Meal for 4 for dinner on Thursday, but this year I am leaning towards cooking, but I am thinking about inviting my nearby siblings and nieces and nephews over for Snacks and appetizers on Wednesday, or maybe on Friday. Which would all of you rather be invited to? Or is it just not a great time to add another gathering. I am obviously wavering! LOL!

It's here!Happy Sunday everyone! Its been a whole day of apple pies and making cooked filling to freeze. The smell has got overwhelming so I retired to the backyard. We got Eggnog in the stores finally. Cant believe its finally October.
