DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 15

Happy November Mid-Week! Today folks we have 15 days remaining until Thanksgiving. Our next milestone will be in 5 days. It will be the Home Stretch till Thanksgiving…and then there will be no other milestones until THE biggest day of the year which we celebrate all year long here in this thread: Thanksgiving Day. We move along in our Awesome Autumn still feeling awesome and looking below at today’s Weekly Poll!

How do people decorate for Thanksgiving in your area?

  • They don’t at all.
  • They do but not nearly as much as Halloween or Christmas.
  • They decorate a good amount (a lot).
  • They decorate more than they do for Christmas even.
  • I’m going with B. We do have some who decorate for Fall/Thanksgiving and even see turkeys and stuff around but not as much as the other 2 holidays. Today’s poll kind of corresponds with the Hang Out topic if you want to read more. But it’s ok because in this thread we decorate year-round don’t we? For Thanksgiving. The best day of the year. Have a great November Mid-Week!

B. There are very few houses decorated for Thanksgiving around me. And the ones that are, it is very minimal. We have a few things in the yard including an inflatable Tom Turkey. Most houses are just decorated for the Fall season.

The answer for us is "B". Very, very few houses where I live decorate for Thanksgiving. Nothing usually more than an inflatable turkey or a garden flag somewhere. My house right now is fully decorated for Christmas outside, but I have a "Happy Thanksgiving" garden flag by the front porch, and for the first time ever, I changed my holiday projector to say "Happy Thanksgiving" with an image of a cornucopia.

Have a great Wednesday!

Another B here. We have some houses that put a few Thanksgiving decorations in their front yards, like inflatable turkeys or a big ear of corn, and there is a single house in our town that puts up Thanksgiving lights each year. Most people around here have moved straight from Halloween decor to Christmas decor, though.

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 14

Happy Totally Turkey! Today folks we have 14 days remaining until Thanksgiving. Our next milestone will be on Monday. It will be the Home Stretch till Thanksgiving. For now folks we enjoy today. It is still our Awesome Autumn and we need to enjoy every moment of it. We only have that one more milestone before Thanksgiving Day arrives. And with that I have a thought for Thanksgiving Thought Thursday!

Do you feel it? I do. Ever since November started there is this feeling in me. It’s of excitement but also pure joy too. Content. I didn’t feel it in October. I just felt pure fun. In December I feel it but in a different way. It’s like we’re used to being in the season by then. Right now? It’s like we’re getting there. Slowly but surely. And as we approach Thanksgiving I don’t think there is any other holiday that gives you the same feeling of anticipation. Christmas? Not in the same way. There is still a finality to it. Thanksgiving? It’s just the beginning!

I’m really loving these days folks. I really seriously am. Like I’m just enjoying what we are approaching but I also am content if we froze time and stayed where we are for a lot longer and just looked at it in front of us. Have a great Totally Turkey!

I can feel it now, for sure. We are just a few days away now from starting "The Week Before". That's big time. Next week the magic in the air will be so thick I could imagine it hanging around like a fog. Happy Thursday!

We've reached the second Thursday of November. Only 2 more to go. In less than two weeks I'll be starting my annual Chocolate Chip Cookie Bake. @400 of the best cookies in the world. Well, my favorite cookies anyway.

I’m with you, Edge. Let’s freeze time for a bit and enjoy where we are. Ever since Halloween ended, I feel like time has been on a mad rush to get to Thanksgiving as quickly as possible. Any other time of the year it would be creeping by ever so slowly and probably driving me crazy. Now it’s too fast. Someone hit the brakes!

Only two weeks! I definitely can feel the pull for Thanksgiving. At this point Thanksgiving is more on my mind than Christmas which is unusual for me but ok. I feel like Christmas pushes through the Thanksgiving but not this year. Christmas is slowly arriving each day which is actually what I want.

Time has slowed down some too compared to October! A very different and unusual feelings trend this year. But it is great and probably how I would like it to go each year actually.

I've pretty much finished my Thanksgiving shopping. I'm cooking a turducken, a ham, and a turkey breast. This year I cut WAY back on desserts. Only a pumpkin pie and a deep dish apple pie. I hope I have the energy to pull it all off. Honestly, none of the other people coming can cook LOL.
