DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 3

Happy Thanksgiving Week! Today folks we have 3 days remaining until Thanksgiving. Our next milestone is Thursday. Did you hear or are you aware that is Thanksgiving? That is our ultimate goal? That is our final destination? That is the final milestone? And that is the reason we have been here for the last 360 days +? Ok just checking. We also continue in the final days now of our Awesome Autumn and it’s Monday so here goes folks. Our Weekly Countdown till Thanksgiving Week. 0. It’s THANKSGIVING WEEK FRIENDS! We made it to our favorite week of the year. It’s Monday? But it’s not just ANY Monday. I can’t believe we’re here. And I hope you all have the best Monday and get that feeling of Thanksgiving Week started early here. And let us know how you’re feeling and how your Monday goes. I’ll leave you some thoughts as I have been the last couple of days later today. Oh and I also wanted to say that our 4 topics Monday through Thursday have all been renewed for the 2024 Countdown. But we will have a new addition on Fridays. And I hope you will all like it but I don’t want to take up much time here talking about it. Because right now we are in the best week of the year. Nothing beats this. And I’m happy that all of you have been here with me all year long. Our week is finally here friends. Let’s make the most of every single moment of it. Have a great Thanksgiving Week!

Happy Thanksgiving Week! Yesterday evening we picked up the final few things we’ll need for dinner prep, and last night the turkey migrated from freezer to fridge. It’s an exciting time!

I do have to work Monday - Wednesday, but there is so much magic in the air right now that I don’t even care. Should be a very quiet, relaxing day. I wish every week could be like Thanksgiving week.

Thanksgiving Build Day 3 of 5:
Monday. Didn't feel like a normal Monday. Because it's not. Very busy day at work. But all I could do was smile at thinking about what we are days (and now almost hours) away from getting to. I am so happy right now. Being where we are. Wanting to crawl forward but not run. I'm here just relaxing tonight and thanking all of you for being here. You've made the year long journey more fun. And I know we'll have a heck of a build as we go through tonight and into Tuesday. One of my coworker's who isn't going to be in the office this week asked if I would buy her a donut next week because she likes my tradition of bringing in breakfast on Christmas Eve. Those things make me happy that people appreciate little traditions (to me they're big ones).
Oh one last thing...whoever posts next will set a new record for Thanksgiving posts. Last year we had 3,291. This is our 3,291st post in this thread. Talk about consistency. Growth. On to another night closer to Thanksgiving.

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 2

Happy Thanksgiving Eve Eve! Today folks we have 2 days remaining until Thanksgiving. Our next milestone will be on Thursday which is Thanksgiving and our final destination. No more milestones obviously after that. Can you believe today is Thanksgiving Eve Eve friends? It’s unreal to believe. We move along in our Awesome Autumn with our FINAL Picture Day of this thread (but don’t worry Picture Day has been renewed for the 2024 countdown). It’s become one of the most popular segments in this thread I think. I’ll be back tonight to post some pictures and also give you my thoughts from today. Just a little thing we’re doing this year to get ready for what’s to come. We’ve done it for 3 days. And 2 more to go. Oh and we have set a new record for posts in the Thanksgiving Thread. I’m proud of that but like SS said in Halloween it’s more about quality not just quantity. I’m just glad to see how many people have become fans of this thread and really realized how special Thanksgiving is and how it deserves to be talked about all year long. Turkey friends it’s another day closer. Is the turkey thawing? Is the cranberry sauce ready (CW)? And are you excited yet? Or are you waiting…don’t wait. Get excited today. Have a great Thanksgiving Eve Eve!

One day I'm going to try it! I know @The_Escalation loves them. We have a Popeye's just a few minutes from my house on the other side of the neighborhood. Going there to get one would be quick and easy. I wonder how far ahead of time you have to buy one?

Happy Tuesday! Tonight is going to be just pure joy. My last day of work is today and then I'm off for a FIVE DAY WEEKEND. I can't wait.

Have a great day!

They let you pre-order beginning in October, and when we first started buying them that’s what we’d do. Nowadays I really don’t feel the need to pre-order. Around here, usually you can just waltz into Popeye’s and ask for one. Sometimes they even continue to sell them after Thanksgiving, so you could have one for Christmas and/or New Year’s Eve.

Just a disclaimer: These are fully cooked already, but after you thaw them and open it up to heat it in the oven, it’s going to look absolutely disgusting. Like, you will wonder if you made a mistake by purchasing this bird. Rest assured though, that after 1.5 hours at 300 degrees, it comes out looking golden brown and delicious. Cover it with foil when you first put it in, and then remove the foil and broil it for the last 15 minutes for that crispy skin. Then use the pan drippings to make a gravy.
