We are surely in the last days of Football feelings for a while. And February is usually when PCB's / PFHB's can hit if I'm not careful and dwell too long on thinking / reminiscing about the holidays. One good thing about February is that even though it is only a few days shorter than the "normal" months, it generally feels like it moves by at a good clip.

I'm glad you mention time. Isn't time funny and fascinating at the same time? When we are working sometimes, time might fly by or drag. And on the weekend, time feels like it's been greased. Sort of like when we get a count under 200 days to something. Thanksgiving does feel far away even though it has only been two months.

Have a great Thursday!
I'm going to miss football!

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 300
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 273
DAYS TILL THE BERS: 212

Happy Groundhog’s Day! Today folks we have 300 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 273 days to go until November, and 212 days left until The Bers. We have reached a big milestone today folks and that is the 300 Day Marker till Thanksgiving. Holy Moly. Today is the last day we’ll ever see a 3’s count in this thread EVER friends. That’s quite amazing if you ask me. Turkey friends we move along in our Winter Wonderland feeling good. I hope you all are feeling good at least. And our next milestone? It’s going to be in 12 days. That will be the all-important 200-day marker till The Bers. WOW! It’s Friday friends so our newest favorite weekly special topic is below in our Fun Fact Friday!

The average turkey, alive and walking around, weighed 17 pounds in 1960. That increased to 19 pounds by 1980, and rose to 31 pounds today. By comparison, the average adult American man weighed an average of 166 pounds in 1960, but weighs about 198 pounds today.

So did the turkey gaining weight cause us to gain weight or vice versa? Inquiring minds want to know but today’s Fun Fact Friday definitely is a unique one. So we have bigger turkeys and we’re hungrier so it kind of works out? Well turkey friends enjoy your turkey or groundhog watching today. Have a great Groundhog’s Day!

I grew up in a county that at that time was one of the top turkey producing counties in the country. There are very few there now because of a virus that decimated flocks and that lives in the soil allegedly for decades. My home county is still one of the headquarters for Norbest. Anyway, that is my perspective for another interesting fact, turkey farmers believed that people like white meat better than dark so they started selectively breading for the turkeys to have bigger breasts (which might explain the above mentioned weight gain, maybe). Originally turkeys had dark feathers--looking much like wild turkeys--and were really smart. As they bred them for more breast meat, they became dumber and their feathers turned white.

Wow no more 300's until Next Year's thread. In any countdown that we are dealing with, I'm always glad to see 300's go. TGIF! Have a great Friday!

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 299
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 272
DAYS TILL THE BERS: 211

Happy February Weekend! Today folks we have 299 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 272 days left until November, and 211 days to go until The Bers. Our next milestone will be on Valentine’s Day folks which will be the big 200-Day Marker till The Bers. Wow. I always say that Valentine’s Day is when I start to let myself dream of spring coming. But we still have a while till we get to V-Day let alone spring. Friends of turkey we move along in our Winter Wonderland solidly here in the early part of February and our quiet weekend begins. I love it. 5 fun topics all week long and now a chance to rest the weekend and enjoy our laid back posts during the weekend. Of course, you can always just gobble your way through the weekend dreaming of turkeys, stuffing, and lots of gravy too. Gobble Gobble. And do it till you wobble friends. No matter what your weekend plans are I wish you all a great one and a fun/relaxing one too. The best weekends have a combination of both of those 2 things. And I hope you all have a bit of each planned this weekend. Turkey friends rest up this weekend. Enjoy your time off from work. And make sure you think turkey thoughts here in the heart of winter. Have a great February Weekend!

I cleaned up the front yard last weekend and finally got the rest of the Christmas lights down and everything put away. This weekend my focus will be on cleaning up the back yard. We still have some branches and stuff down from the last wind storm, and I need to get my brush trailer out front so I can haul it away. It's just been too soggy the last couple of weekends to even think about taking it to the landfill, too easy to get stuck back there during this time of year. I always wait until It's been dry for a while in the winter time.

Turkey thoughts are always about in this brain! Have a great Saturday!

Hitting the 200s is amazing! Such a happy feeling that I am ready for my first gobble, gobble of 2024!

Next weekend they're showing 50s and dry weather. Might feel like spring to clean up then here!

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 298
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 271
DAYS TILL THE BERS: 210

Happy Non-Football Sunday! Today folks we have 298 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 271 days left until November, and 210 days to go until The Bers. Our next milestone will be in 10 days. It will be the 200-Day Marker till The Bers. We move along in our Winter Wonderland feeling good. And enjoying the sunshine out there. Not too warm but hey it’s winter. It could be (and has been) colder than this for sure. Not bad out there really considering and milder times are ahead of us in our forecast. And folks we move along in Part 2 of our Quiet Weekend. I love it. You love it. We all love it after a busy 5 days here in this thread as always it’s nice to kick back, relax, chat a bit and hang out here in this thread. Thanks for checking in today and 1 week from now is the big Superbowl Party. Are you having one? It kind of is a feast for us. We have good stuff and it’s right up there with the top meals of the year to me right behind Thanksgiving Dinner and Christmas Eve Dinner. I’m looking forward to it but right now I’m focusing on today and the current day here and now. Turkey friends you relax yourselves today and hang out having fun will you? I hope so because you are awesome for being here and being part of this. Have a great Non-Football Sunday!

That day will be the "closest" thing we have had since Thanksgiving/Christmas, and will be the "last" time we do something like that until Easter. After Easter it is a pretty long way until we do Halfsgiving / Friendsgiving, and obviously the next big one after that won't be until the real thing comes back in November. So my plan is to really enjoy this last little bit of Football / Bers feelings. It will sort of be a long way after the Super Bowl until we have any kind of football activity again, unless you count the draft.

Have a great Sunday!

We are going to one...I am not a huge football fan but I love to hangout and enjoy the food! lol

My plans have changed and the appetizer/snack exchange is getting moved to my sister's house. My niece's husband is a big 49'ers fan and he is going to a big party for hard-core fans so my sister is going to be alone. Her mobility is limited so she has offered to host. Everyone is going to arrive around 4:00 to sample the goodies and socialize for a bit, and then will pack a container to go before the game starts, not much of a Super Bowl Party, but fun. I will watch some of the game, or at least check in on the score now and then and enjoy my snacks!
