Welcome to Zombieary! To those of you who are wondering, "What the heck is Zombieary?" then allow me to explain: Zombieary is a made-up celebration of all things zombie that lasts throughout the entire month of February. It started as a joke because I decided to watch the movie 28 Days Later in February last year since February has 28 days. Then, as I do with most things, I blew it way out of proportion and turned what should have been a one-day event into a month-long celebration.

And just in time for Zombieary this year, I stumbled across some rather timely news: An official sequel to the movie that started this celebration has been greenlit as of just four days ago:

(Yes, I already know there was a sequel called 28 Weeks Later, so technically this will be a sequel to the sequel. I also know that technically the movie isn't about traditional "zombies" but instead is about a "rage virus," but whatever. They're zombies, okay? Just roll with it.)

Good Morning Halloween Friends! A new week has begun. This whole past weekend felt like it could have been either Spooky Spring or October. It was great weather. Today is going to be another warm one. 50 degrees and Sunny. Every day that we march on like this, I feel more and more confident that bad winter weather is really over. We had a brutally cold and snowy January. But February? It's been very mild so far. I'm hoping it continues.

We're chasing a milestone again this week. Sunday we will celebrate 50 DAYS TO SPOOKY SPRING! I think I'm going to use that day to brainstorm up my film lineup for this year. And we are now in single digits on the way down to the 200 DAYS TO THE BERS milestone day. 10 days from today we will have another count enter 100's territory!

Whatever you guys are doing today, I hope you have a great day and I hope your Monday doesn't treat you too terrible! Have a great day!
Nothing in that list of countdowns is beyond 9 months from now.
And look at the days between each event. Relatively small numbers.

Happy Tuesday gals and ghouls! The horrors of Monday are behind us now, and we begin our new trek of the week. You guys know I'm not crazy about Tuesdays, they aren't as bad as Mondays but Tuesdays can still be kind of "blah".

Five days out from a BIG milestone in here, I can't believe we are staring at the 50 DAYS TO SPOOKY SPRING milestone. I sort of wonder how it will feel emotionally to know that we are closing in on such a happy time. Don't sleep on The Bers countdown either, tomorrow will mark exactly one week until the 200 day marker. I do believe that I am amazed as well as shocked that both of the items discussed above can feel so "close" when its only February. Time marches on, I suppose.

Have a wonderful Tuesday!

That gap from Halfoween to Fall Preseason is intense. Thank goodness for the JOL Days. I need another event in there to break it up even more, though. I guess we could start Halloween Hunting in June.

Good Morning Halloween Friends! At long last its Wednesday! Weekend vibes start rolling in this late afternoon/ evening and I'll be ready for them. Here at the midweek, we are keeping our eyes peeled on two BIG milestones that are coming up within just days of each other. The first one coming our way is the 50 DAYS TO SPOOKY SPRING milestone, which will be here on Sunday, and then our 200 DAYS TO THE BERS milestone which rolls in this time next week, and occupies space with Valentine's Day. It's like two holidays in one almost, in fact it IS two holidays in one. And it's going to be amazing.

The weather we are having each day continues to make me think of The Bers. There's such a temperature swing throughout the day that early mornings and sunsets make me think of October, and the mild stretch in between those times can be your classic Bers weather. It's a special time right now and I hope it carries us all the way into "true" Spring.

Have a great day, friends!

Today's Zombieary celebration:

The video game Left 4 Dead. It originally debuted on the Xbox 360 console and was so much fun, especially with four players. The premise was your standard zombie apocalypse, but you were "cast" as one of four characters in a sort of Grindhouse movie scenario, and your little band of zombie fighters had to complete certain goals before you were able to be rescued from the hordes of zombies. There were also different types of zombies with different styles of attack, so you couldn't just run in with guns blazing and expect to be triumphant -- you had to strategize with your team.

It was so much fun. My wife even enjoyed playing this one, and she's not a fan of video games at all.

This is the game that made me go out and buy an Xbox 360 after always being a PlayStation guy! I played this with my future brother in law over Thanksgiving of 2007 and was hooked! I have thousands of hours playing this game! I was always Francis!

Good Morning Halloween Friends! Happy Thursday! Another fresh round of countdowns this morning to marvel at. You can see up top that we are now three weeks away from Jack O Lantern Day #2. It doesn't take a lot of work to find out what movies I'm going to be watching that night. In case no one has any idea, I'm going to be watching 28 days later, and 28 weeks later. I have really enjoyed that being my February/Zombieary routine since last year.

We are closing in now on the 50 DAYS TO SPOOKY SPRING milestone day. I'm reserving this weekend for hammering out my film lineup for Spooky Spring, it just feels close enough to start making little preparations. Nothing like hitting the ground running. We're also under a week now until we hit the 200 DAYS TO THE BERS.

My Thursday Halloween thought today has to do with milestone days. All through the year, we are constantly chasing milestones on MMC, whether it be for Christmas, Thanksgiving, Halloween, or of course other things like The Bers or the start of Fall Pre-Season. And in chasing so many milestones, it might be easy to feel like some of the milestone days aren't given their due. My underrated milestone days are 200 Day milestones to anything. 200 seems far away, right? But in the 100's? Now it's a different story mentally. And we have some 200 Day milestones coming up in here in not too much longer. How about you?

Do you have a milestone day that you feel like might be underrated? Let us know today. Have a great day!

I know a lot of people do not enjoy them but I really like when we Fall Back in November, and once I adjust to Spring Ahead it can be a big boost too.

And I don't think they count as a milestone day, but I really enjoy Friday the 13ths.

Evening Halloween Fans! What a day. Stayed late at work like I've been all year so far. 6 weeks has seemed like 6 months of work. But I get a break Sat-Tues. Nice. Oh a few pieces of my Halloween candy may be going stale. But some is still tasty. Happy Halloween!
I put all of mine in the freezer so I can just take a few pieces out at a time and still as fresh as if I just got back from trick 0r treating.

That's the one day of the fall that I really wish could have its own countdown. If I didn't think that the Halloween thread had so many countdowns already, I would add it to that. I LOVE the first couple of weeks when it gets dark early and the only lights on the way home are the houses decorated for Christmas, and when I get home, the lights from the Christmas tree being the only light inside. I really miss those days today!

Good Morning Halloween Friends! Happy Friday! We're finally at the weekend now where we will have a nice mini holiday, enjoy Super Bowl Sunday, and then start our journey towards the mid-point of February. Almost that far? It's no lie. February is moving with a speed unlike January, I can feel it.

We're less than three weeks away now until Jack O Lantern Day #2, and we are now closing in on the 50 DAYS TO SPOOKY SPRING milestone. It will be here on Sunday! This weekend also begins my very, very early planning stage of Spooky Spring (tm) 24'. I want to hammer out the film lineup and then in the following days come up with everything else. I'm really looking forward to it, and I'm glad we incorporated it "officially" two years ago.

Have a great Friday, friends!

Evening Halloween Fans! I made it to my 4-day break. Stayed late as usual at work but caught up on everything I needed to (for now). Who's ready for Superbowl Weekend? It's almost as exciting as Halloween Weekend. Happy Halloween!

We should add it to the off-season countdown.
