Good Morning Halloween Friends! Happy Saturday! Folks - we are standing on the doorstep today to a major milestone, and everyone knows what comes our way tomorrow. NOT the Superbowl, but something even more exciting perhaps - the 50 DAYS TO SPOOKY SPRING milestone.

We'll also see the 200 DAYS TO THE BERS milestone arrive this week on Wednesday, sharing time and space with Valentine's day. Those two milestones might be the biggest ones that we hit during the winter.

I hope that everyone has a great day today, and has nice weather where you live. Here we are supposed to get to almost 70 degrees today with abundant Sunshine. Have a great day, friends!
 
We had our first thunderstorm on Thursday, not unheard of, but is really giving me Spring Feels, and we are expecting more rain next week. I am trying not to get too excited, the long term forecast has temps dropping by the 21st, but I am enjoying thinking about planting my pumpkins!

Good Morning Halloween Friends! It's a milestone day! And it's one we've been waiting on for a long time. Today marks only 50 DAYS TO SPOOKY SPRING! It's a big deal. My special activity planned for today, before we start getting ready for the Super Bowl, is for me to get my movie lineup for Spooky Spring down on the notepad and ready to go. I really honestly can't believe it's so close.

Our next major milestone following today will be on Wednesday, when we reach 200 DAYS TO THE BERS. That's going to be a big one. As I mentioned before, I think that any count that hits 200 Days is very underrated. There's something special about breaking the 200 Day Seal on any countdown. And seeing into the 100's the next day is a feeling all on its own.

We will catch our breath when this week is over, but save the energy for the thrilling conclusion of this month, which will see us arrive at the 200 Day window to Halloween Season!

Yeah to 50 days! This week is really the week where the year really starts to open up and everything starts getting going. We have 50 days to Spooky spring, 200 days to the Bers, the Super Bowl, Mardi Gras, the beginning of lent, and of course a nice three day off President's Day weekend. A Heck of week in this early part of the year.

We’re about to sit down and watch the Super Bowl, but I wanted to pop in and say that I have my film lineup for Spooky Spring all hammered out. In the coming days, I’ll actually get them down on the schedule, and I think it might be fun to post that “calendar” on here when we are 30 days out from the actual start of Spooky Spring!

Good Morning Halloween Friends! Happy Monday! Can we start counting down to the weekend already? I think most of us will have a 3 day weekend this weekend because of President's Day. I hope the thoughts of that, which I will try my best to keep in my back pocket until at least Wednesday, does not make this week "drag".

No winter doldrums yet or PCB's/PFHB's so far. This is the first day post everything football, so all of the time is still young for any "flare ups" to occur. I don't see myself getting them next week, the last full week of February and at that point the "month of hope" looming large.

We have a big milestone day coming in two days. 200 DAYS TO THE BERS. That one will be huge. After that, we will have only three counts left that are in the 200's. It wasn't that long ago that those three counts were in the 300's. 300's seem far to anything. But down in the 200's? You can feel we're making progress. And 100's and below, like I've always said, time just moves at a different speed.

I've always "paused" the activities on Easter Sunday. I believe this year I am going to do Jack O Lantern Day on 3/30 so that Easter Sunday stays special as it should!

Good Morning Halloween Friends! There's snow on the pumpkins this morning! It was not snowing at 3 am but now it is snowing heavily and we probably have an inch or two on the ground. Schools are closed here. I think it's crazy because just three days ago it was 65 degrees. I really thought winter weather was truly over. Maybe this will be the last one.

As spooky Spring draws closer, I continue to brainstorm. Just recently I learned that we have Pluto TV for free, with no subscription ever required. Pluto TV has two outstanding horror movie "Channels" that play 24/7 scary movies, they have a sci-fi channel too. I was amazed because it's all quality content for the most part. So I figure on Pluto TV filling up the gaps in between my "main feature" of each evening. This is already a huge "step up" from last year! One of the things I love the most about Halloween Season is just that lazy lounging around with the scary movies playing in the background. Without them being on broadcast TV, I would have to run movies "manually" and start and stop them. Now, Pluto TV is going to do the work for me!

Folks, let's talk about the BIG milestone that is coming our way tomorrow, 200 DAYS TO THE BERS! I just about can't put this one into words. "Mini Friday" will see us arrive safely into the 100's on the way back to The Bers. Just. Wow.

There's actually some decent channels out there on the free ad-supported services. Pluto, Tubi, Freevee, Roku Channel, and even YouTube. A person who wanted to forego paying for cable or streaming services entirely could probably replace cable television with an OTA antenna and those five services and still have plenty to watch. Of course there's still a lot of garbage on those channels as well, but no different from cable TV, I'd say.

I'm sure that my horror channels on Pluto TV might turn out some "duds" here and there, but from what I have saw so far looking through their guide, they seem to be good for the most part. And during Halloween / Spooky Season / Spooky Spring, I think that "duds" have earned their place! Its exactly the reason why I included "Jurassic Park" last year during my lineup, since Syfy still plays that one in rotation all the time in October!

Good Morning Halloween Friends! Today is a big milestone over in the official Bers Thread. We track The Bers countdown in here because The Bers has so much to do with Fall and Halloween in general, but all the attention will be and should be over in that thread today. I will just say that 200 Days to The Bers is pretty amazing.

Our next milestone will be in 10 days, when we hit 250 DAYS TO HALLOWEEN SEASON. It's funny that the October Counts seem to be moving the slowest, do you agree? And while it might seem like we want to speed some of the others along, I think that nobody wants the October counts to go by too fast, because that means that we would be zipping right through Fall, Halloween Season, and Christmas AGAIN. So when we hit The Bers again in 6 1/2 months, we can all help each other figure out ways to make the time feel slower.
