But guess what friends? I received confirmation on Monday that my brother from San Diego will be coming for Thanksgiving this year instead of Christmas. Now it’s a little bummer he won’t come for Christmas but having him for Thanksgiving for the first time in many years on my favorite day of the year will only make it more exciting and better.
That's wonderful news!

Last week I posted a recipe for picture day, so I figured I'd repeat the process this week and post a picture along with it this time!

  • 1/3 cup mashed potatoes
  • 1/2 cup stuffing

  • Spread diced turkey around the pizza and cover with shredded cheese to keep the turkey from drying out.

  • Drizzle cranberry sauce on top of pizza. Warm sauce in the microwave for 30 seconds at a time if needed in order for the sauce to easily drizzle.

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes until cheese is bubbly and starting to brown.
  • Remove from oven and garnish with parsley. Slice and serve hot.

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 106
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 79
DAYS TILL THE BERS: 18

Happy August Mid-Week! Today folks we move along and see that we have 106 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 79 days left until November, and 18 days to go until The Bers. We move along in our Summer Sweatfest with our next milestone being less than a week away now with the 100-Day Marker till Thanksgiving scheduled for Tuesday.

What’s one thing you’d change (if forced to) about Thanksgiving?

  • The day of the week it falls on (would change it from a Thursday).
  • The NFL games that are on (would add/remove some games).
  • The time we eat our Thanksgiving meal (move it up or back).
  • The weather (make it warmer or cooler).
  • Hmmmmm for me I think I’ll go with C. I feel like we have fallen into a trap of eating later than we used to. I’d like to move our dinner time up by at least 1 hour. Maybe we’ll be able to this year. The rest I don’t think I’d want to change Thanksgiving from Thursday. It’d be cool on a Friday, but I tell you Thursday is really what we’re so used to it would be weird. NFL I’m good with the games that are on, and the weather is normally around 50 degrees which is comfortable for mid-late autumn. Turkey friends have a great day today. Have a great August Mid-Week!

I think "C" is the logical choice here for me as well. We don't really get into a "routine" with eating, and sometimes I feel like we go too early, and other times too late. But there's a lot of work that goes into it, so I can't complain too much about dinner times.

Have a great Wednesday! Tomorrow is mini-Friday!

It's a toss up for me between C and D. The time of our Thanksgiving meal varies every year, so I do wish we had some consistency there, but ultimately I think I've got to go with D for this one. It just really bothers me when we have warm Thanksgiving days down here. I do not want to wear shorts to Thanksgiving dinner, so by using the "power of the poll" I'd make sure it's always nice and chilly.

It's B for me. Only because it doesn't affect me. I don't watch football that day. I say no games the week of Thanksgiving. Let the players go home and be with family. I'm sure most of them like Mac & Cheese. LOL.
