DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 216
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 191
DAYS TILL THE BERS: 130

Happy Final Week Of April! Today folks we move along and see that we have 216 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 191 days left until November and 130 days to go until The Bers. We move along in our Stress-Free Spring with our next milestone arriving when May arrives in 1 week. You all know May is a big month. It’s our biggest month in this thread (other than November obviously). It’s Friday folks so time for our Fun Fact Friday below!

The turkey bird is linked to the country of Turkey.

If you've ever wondered which came first, the bird or the egg country, we have a definitive answer:
The turkey bird got its name from the country due to a case of mistaken identity! During the Ottoman Empire, guinea fowl were exported from East Africa via Turkey to Europe, and Europeans started calling the birds turkey-cocks or turkey-hens due to the trade route. So, when Europeans first sailed to North America and discovered birds that looked like guinea fowl, they called them "turkeys."

It makes sense but I had no idea. And I’m glad to learn it today here on Fun Fact Friday. Have a great Final Week Of April!

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 215
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 190
DAYS TILL THE BERS: 129

Happy Final Weekend Of April! Today folks we move along and see that we have 215 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 190 days left until November and 129 days to go until The Bers. We move along in our Stress-Free Spring with our next milestone set to arrive in 6 days when May Arrives. It’s Saturday folks so time for the 1st half of our Quiet Weekend Period. And it will be a quiet first half of the weekend for me. I plan to stay local, close to home base, do some errands, and mostly do housework. And read some, play games, have a BBQ tonight and relax. Sounds like a perfect (rainy) Saturday to me. But no matter what, I love Saturday and always try to have fun with it. I hope you all do too. It’s a special day and feels like a holiday every week to me. But I wish you all well here my turkey friends. The weather isn’t going to be very nice today. Raw and Rainy. The 2 Rs. I’d rather have Summer and Sunny the 2 S’s, but we have plenty of time before we reach that time of year. Gobble Gobble turkey friends. Have a great time today as we move along here this Saturday. And thanks for stopping by this thread as always. Enjoy your Saturday and I hope that your weekend goes in the right direction today. Have a great Final Weekend Of April!

Gobble Gobble! I'm hoping to get my front yard mowed today before the rains move in! Abby and I went and got a trailer full of mulch first thing this morning, I'm hoping to get to start spreading some of it today if it doesn't rain on me, but tomorrow looks sunny so I can always do it then. I am going to throw a tarp over the trailer if it starts raining, if I don't the mulch will weigh a million pounds and make it impossible to unload!

Have a great day!

Rainy day here!

I think this is the first Saturday with nice weather in 2026, that may be an exaggeration but that is how it feels. It was a busy week and I am getting caught up here but I am ready for an early dinner and to do some daydreaming about Thanksgiving!

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 214
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 189
DAYS TILL THE BERS: 128

Happy Special Sunday! Today folks we move along and see that we have 214 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 189 days left until November and 128 days to go until The Bers. We move along in our Stress-Free Spring with our next milestone set to arrive on Friday along with the month of May. That’s going to be huge for us as that’s the biggest month for us in this thread (other than November obviously). It’s Sunday folks so time for the 2nd half of our Quiet Weekend Period. It’s not a quiet Sunday for the Sunday Group as we head into the city and then return for coffee at my cousin’s who is in town for the weekend. A long day but hopefully a fun day and a family day. Damian will get out there this morning for his walk with me at the park. And I got a lot of my chores done on Saturday so that I’m in good shape not to be overwhelmed with what I need to do on this Sunday. Gobble Gobble my turkey friends. I hope you all make the most of your day on this Sunday. And I hope you all enjoy your time with your family and friends. Or if you’re just hanging out along or with a pet enjoy them as well. I hope your week has been going well and that it continues that path right through the remainder of the weekend. Have a great Special Sunday!

@Edge612 , I'm glad your Sunday group is back, I hope you have a great day. My day to get chores done is today, I have a busy week ahead and it will help to start it ahead, not behind. In fact, I may not check back in until Thursday for the Weekly Count!

We welcome in May this week and also obviously the month of Halfway to Thanksgiving.

Everyone's attention for the coming month is obviously going to be THE ROAD opening up (In just about 4 weeks from now!!!), but I have to take time to remember that we see halfway to Thanksgiving week on 5/26/2026.

I'm not sure if we will be in the hospital on Memorial Day weekend, I hope not, but that would be a heck of a coincidence doing that again exactly one year later.

I hope everyone has a great Sunday!

We've literally missed meeting up in person like 3 times in the last 2 years so it was weird not to meet up last Sunday (but we did talk)!

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 213
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 188
DAYS TILL THE BERS: 127

Happy Late April! Today folks we move along and see that we have 213 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 188 days left until November and 127 days to go until The Bers. We move along in our Stress-Free Spring with our next milestone set to arrive on Friday. It will be the Arrival of May. It’s Monday folks so time for our YouTube Day which we will check out below!

A little silly clip today where these 2 who I am unfamiliar with are ranking the sides basically of Thanksgiving. I would love to rank them myself. But it would be tough to rank. I guess I would go with cranberry sauce, biscuits, sweet potatoes and stuffing in that order. You can throw in some also if you wish. There are so many possibilities when it comes to Thanksgiving and sides. They can be endless. Mac and Cheese, string beans, mushrooms and more. Sounds like it’s poll day here with YouTube Day this week. I hope you all enjoy your Monday my friends. I hope your week gets off to a great start here in the latter stages of the month of April. Hard to believe we transition to our big month in this thread at the end of the week. Have a great Late April!

Can't have Thanksgiving dinner without Cranberry Sauce! I love how it comes out of the can and still has those ridges from the can. It's a classic look!

And I also cannot believe that we are staring at the end of April and will see a new month before the week is over! Have a great day!

Sides, in order from my most to least favorite, based on what we usually have at my wife’s grandmother’s house for Thanksgiving:

1. Mac and cheese (you saw it coming)
2. Dressing/stuffing and brown butter gravy (but only the kind my wife makes — other dressings are too unpredictable)
3. Mashed potatoes
4. Sweet potatoes
5. Warm rolls/biscuits with butter
6. Corn
7. Peas
8. Green beans/green bean casserole
9. Cranberry sauce

So basically lots of carbs. And also, that’s right — I’m not a big cranberry sauce guy. I agree that it’s iconic, and that it’s gotta be on the table, but I’ve never cared for it and will not reach for it unless there’s no other sides.

Happy Chilling Tuesday! Today folks we move along and see that we have 212 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 187 days left until November and 126 days to go until The Bers. We move along in our Stress-Free Spring with our next milestone set to arrive on Friday with the Arrival of May. It’s Tuesday folks so time for Picture Day here and you all know how much I love Picture Day. This is when we all get to share our love for Autumn and Thanksgiving visually through pictures that everyone shares for all of us to enjoy. So please feel free to do so. We had a beautiful day on Monday and the weather on Tuesday should be similar. I hope you are all enjoying your day my friends and the early part of this week. Gobble Gobble my turkey friends.
