Christmas Countdown - 2009

Getting ready to go to work. Today and tommorrow are going to be long days. I am going to get all of my out of town stores called on and then I will be done working for a couple weeks. It is going to be a nice day so that will at least make the drive out through the country nice. Hope everyone has a Great Day!!!!cheesy

I was born in Bad Kreutznach, about 50km from Wiesbaden. Dad was stationed there back in the early 60's when I was born. I think it's been closed since then, and the base moved to Wiesbaden.

Good Thursday morning, everyone!

Saturday is my wife's 40th birthday (hope she doesn't see that I posted this!) and my sister-in-law and I have been trying to plan for her "special" day. Nancy is very minimalist when it comes to attention being drawn to herself, so we are just doing a family outing to a nice restaurant.

But I did put a very old picture of her in the local newspaper with the caption "Lordy, Lordy, look who's forty!" Now, we live in a VERY small community. The newpaper is only 6 to 8 pages, delivered weekly, so it's pretty noticable. When I turned 40, she did the same to me and I got probably 20 calls from local folks wanting to know if it was me in the picture.

Ah, small town life!

The weather here is better than my memory and we stand at 75 degrees currently.

Oh how I love Thursdays! It is my day off of work - yay!!! I've got a lot of errands to run, need to head to the bank and need to spend a bunch of time cuddling with my sweet girl. That is my favorite part!

I'm also going to try a new Christmas cookie recipe today, I think. I found it a couple weeks ago when leafing through an old Christmas magazine. It sounds delicious and I don't know why I didn't notice it then. Hopefully they'll be as great as they sound! I'll post the recipe if they are.

I missed seeing you at the Pines yesterday, but the veiw was amazing as always! I'm glad you're back on track today! :lol: You should really re-consider the idea of adding coffee to your diet! Mmmmmmm

Bradmac - HAPPY BIRTHDAY to your wife!! I'm sure she will appreciate the picture in the paper! Ha ha!!! I know all about small town living! Isnt' it great?!?!? :smile: There are downfalls to it, but I wouldn't want to live anywhere else!!

I'm going out with friends tonight - GIRLS NIGHT OUT!!! We are finally able to get together for one of the girls birthdays - it was May 13th!!! Oops!! She was 39, so next year is the big 4-0 for her!!!

It is a rainy and cool day. I am enjoying it while I can. The hot, humid weather is on its way. I really don't like summer. I am looking forward to vacation though... 17 days and counting.

work is done, Kandice´s hair is combed...which is not easy cos she´s running away from me...lol....and as a tomboy it was quite an adjustment to comfortable with this whole hairbraiding and stylin thing....today she´s rocking her ´fro....later on we will do some grocery shopping and tomorrow we´ll go bbqing to friends of us

Good Friday morning, everyone!

I was able to sneak away for a couple hours yesterday afternoon with my son and do a little fishing. Our boat is tied up under a boat shelter at the edge of the pond, but it rained so heavily early yesterday afternoon that we couldn't get to the shelter. I sank in the mud to my ankles before turning around and fishing off of the pond dam.

We had a good time and caught a couple large-mouth bass.

It was a great afternoon!
