Christmas Countdown - 2009

good afternoon all!

hope everyone has had a nice week so far?

it's my very special, wonderful grandmother's 90th birthday on friday. we plan on hosting a little party and cracking open the champagne, i'm very excited! i just love this time of year, autumn's on the way and i get in festive mode all over again!

Hey everyone! Been a long day and I'm only half done!

Kaylin did GREAT last night with the big girl bed! I am so proud of her. She woke up this morning and kind of fussed in her bed for a few minutes around 6:45. I got up and went to the bathroom and when she heard me outside, she decided to get up and come out of her room on her own. She found me and said, "I all done seep Mama!" It was soooo sweet! Makes me so proud to be a mama!

Anyways, I've been to work once today already for about 3 hours, now I just got home from a doctors appt with my DH - got some semi not good news there, but nothing that can't be handled on top of other issues. Now I am headed back to work for another 4-5 hours. Good times, right?

We also found out today that in order to get the car to pass the emmissions inspection it will cost around $450. I'm just glad that we have an emergency fund ready and able to handle an expense like that. Thanks to Dave Ramsey, we've got that covered - Murphy won't be taking up residence here! Phew!

Anyways, everyone have a lovely evening. Hopefully night #2 with the big girl bed will go just as smoothly. We'll see, though, b/c DH is putting her to bed tonight and he isn't nearly as strict as Mama is LOL!

Yeah, it's Wednesday!

Been a crazy busy week for us all. My eldest daughter is getting ready for college so we are running around looking for needed items (anyone have a futon mattress they no longer want? cheesy) My other two are very busy with vacation Bible school at our church. I am doing bus charter runs between running around with my eldest and doing errands for VBS. This Friday is a huge city wide "God Rocks" concert at the rec complex (expecting 1500 people, from a city our size, that is a lot!) that I will also be helping at. Good thing I do not have a bus charter that day as I have to be there most of the day.
Now I'm tired just talking about it all!

My eldest niece starts her college classes at NCSU today!
Such a short time ago I was carrying her around in my arms as a tiny baby. Time moves so fast!

Under a week now to the 2/3 mark to Christmas Day!

Again sunny this morning after a dry day yesterday.
(Putting a dent in the mosquito population?? I doubt it.)
We are currently at 78 degrees with a 30% chance of rain.

OK, Holiday, Binger and anyone else who wants to come, it's Shispering Pines Day - our mid, peak-of-the-week tradition.
Come one, come all and have a free cup of coffee or a free glass of sweet southern iced tea (I recommend the latter) and all the fired twinkies you can munch on. Mauradio Sugar Cookies are available too.
Carl will be on hand to give camel rides and free advise on whatever topic you care to discuss. (Just take it with a grain of salt, please)

*****HAPPY HUMP DAY!!!***** I'm so glad Crown is offering coffee at the pines today!! Actually, this is my Friday as I am off work the rest of the week! YAY!!!!! Will be putting up tomatoes tonight & probably tomorrow too! Oh joy!!! But it's so yummy in the winter! I canned 13 pints of peach salsa last night! YUM!!
