Good Morning (again) Everyone!!
Welcome to Christmas Season 2009 Day 1.

Wow! What an evening last night.
Thanks again to all who participated.
And wasn't it nice that other members (including our own Jeff) continued the countdown for the succeeding time zones.
What a group we have!!

Well, we have another coolish and wet one here this morning where we stand at 50 under overcast skies.
The sun is expected soon however and we should have an excellent weekend.

Days to Christmas Day: 42

(The Day count looks a little lonely there by itself, doesn't it?)

The weekend is coming up in a matter of hours, Folks.
Until then, have a Fabulous Friday!

......Now let's get some Christmas music on the old player.....

Good morning all....sorry I missed all the fun last night. The winds were really bad here last night and our 3 year old kept waking up. Hopefully next year I will be able to make it.
Going to do so baking, wrappping and decorating this weekend....

Have a great day.

It looks like everyone had a great time last night during the countdown! I can't stay up that late. DD & I were in bed by 9:30 p.m., but we did read "The Night Before the Night Before Christmas" (yes, you read that correctly) TWICE, and fell asleep listening to Christmas music on my computer. She also told me what she wanted from Santa (a Barbie doll), and explained to me how last year she was in bed and he was upstairs leaving her toys.

I didn't realize that she would process all that information at four years old! That's my way to get her to sleep by herself on Christmas Eve now---Santa can't be upstairs if you are sleeping in Mommy & Daddy's bed that is upstairs too!

Have a great day all! The weekend is almost here!

Darn! I missed the countdown!

My kids were using the computer for homework research, so I sat on the bed to watch tv for a little while. the next thing I knew, it's Friday morning!!

I'm such a lightweight.

Happy first day of the Christmas season, my friends!

And Binger had post # 200,000! Wow! Congrats, Binger!

I hope you all have a great day! I'm off to dig out my favorite Christmas CDs.

Have a good one, all!

Its "offically" the season..what a great day its going to be! On my lunch break today Im headed to the mall to meet my Hubby. He wants to pick me out a few work outfits for Christmas.. Im usually doing my Christmas shopping for others so today will be a little different but still fun Im sure! I have already told my Hubby to please please please get out one of our trees for this weekend and I think I have him almost talked into it! Yayaya! Have a great Friday and wonderful safe weekend! The best part is that I was laughing at JayIsh and I posting the exact same thing at the same time!

Good day, everyone!!

A Merry first day of Christmas Season to all! Last night was lots of fun. It was a real pleasure to countdown with those who managed to stay awake. Another beautiful and sunny day in Ottawa. Temperatures are to reach 10C (50F). Rain tomorrow, but the sun should return for the rest of the foreseeable future. Good stuff!!

I have to go to the library today to conduct some research for a essay proposal that is due on the 24th. Also, I have to go to Wal-Mart to purchase more Christmas lights... How exciting is that?! While doing so, I will listen to Christmas music! Even more exciting! Before I can go, I am just waiting for a phone call from an old teacher. Hopefully he calls now rather than later.

Have a great first day of the Season everyone!! We've made it!

People have been laughing at me for years Brent...Sometimes even when I've said something funny rather then the usual glance in my direction followed by a chuckle...

Binger must be worn out from all that posting late last night. Where are you, Binger?

Then you're clearly not in London, since we're having a rather grey and rainy day! Oh well, a little Christmas music on the iPod can fix that! :)
I guess we were just lucky up in Scotland, stayed sunny all day :) Very unusual that, if anywhere in the UK is sunny it's not usually here ;-)
Oh and a little christmas music fixes everything (as does a nice mug of tea!!)

Where are you???!!! It's been raining with me today and has just started again........

Edinburgh... I'm starting to wonder now whether there was just an Edinburgh-shaped hole in a cloud covering the entire UK... seriously, it's been really sunny for us, freezing cold, but sunny... :?

Binger must be worn out from all that posting late last night. Where are you, Binger?

I'm here.... resting my fingers from last night.. what a tradition!

Way to go everyone..

YABBA~~

my mum is having isobel for me at the weekend, i plan on drinking lots of coffee and watching christmas films. it's so cold and rainy here in england, i hope the rain stops and we get some nice mist.

Hey guys! Man....I was so upset yesterday when I found out about the power being shut off...I was crushed...but last night I had a pretty good idea...while I could post with you...I could post in honor of you....the next post is what took place.....

Told yall I had a trick up my sleeve…so I’m still going to post…just not on the board!

10:02- Dark here….only the computer is filling the room with light…weird…creepy…kinda like the night before Christmas when I was a little kid and would lay there looking up at the ceiling thinking the morning would never get here….and that was only after I had been in the bed for 5 minutes…

10:05- Haha…wife asked me what I was doing…explained the situation…I could see her roll her eyes in the dark….something followed about me and crazy….don’t know what that’s about….BINGER….STILL GOT HOT COFFEE IF YOU WANT SOME!!!

10:13- I may be crazy…but the wife was stupid…..she had the windows up and now the power is going to be out for four hours…it’s a little chilly….

10:22- The wife and I are sitting here talking…well…she’s talking and I’m listening….I KNOW YOU WOMEN ARE SNAPPING YOUR HEADS FROM SIDE TO SIDE BUT LISTENING IS IMPORTANT….my wife just told me to delete that….

10:45- This has to be the best time me and the wife have had together in a while…between the new job and her working on her doctorate in physical therapy, there hasn’t been much “us” time…Binger….coffee isn’t as hot anymore!

10:59- East coast….ONE MINuTE…. 59 58 57 56 55 54 53 52 51….Agh…you get the picture….

11:00- Congrats all my east coast friends….the season has arrived for you! I couldn’t be more happy for you….hope it’s warm in your house because it’s kinda chilly here!

11:10- Brent…50 more minutes…aren’t you in central time zone? Well, tonight you are…you too Made….I’ve gotta have someone to ring this in with….

11:17- Wife goes sleepy time about 5 minutes ago…

11:20- In a dark world, people need a little bit of sunshine. At the end of a long year, Christmas and the season is that sunshine. Families have been strained, members of families moved, people feelings hurt throughout the year, and paths gone astray, but each year….Christmas brings us all back together. You know….I was in the middle of making a very serious change when you guys came into my life….and helped make that change a lot easier….THANKS!

11:33- Just sitting here thinking about Christmas past….I guess we all have some “dysfunctional family” in every one of us….and mine was and is no different. Divorced grandparents who remarry and bring their spouses, an alcoholic (recovering I proudly add) grandmother, an aunt who can’t hold a job, and a Dad who can’t hold his tongue when he hears something he disagrees with….can make very some very “unique” family gatherings. But at Christmas….oh friends….at Christmas…..it’s all sunshine for us…..

11:38- 22 minutes to go. Two years ago, Christmas changed a lot for me. It had the addition of a new member to our family…..my wife. Friends, not many things make me emotional; the one thing that can make me wilt is my precious wife and the beautiful love we share. Every Christmas has been great, but that Christmas opened my eyes up so much.
Through marriage, I was learning to live my life for someone else. I was learning to sacrifice for someone else, and most importantly….I was learning to love like I never had. Not easy to do for someone who had been on their own for 10 or 11 years, who was set in his ways, and was involved one of the most selfish professions there is (I say that because coaching requires you to be gone from the people who love you and many family gatherings, etc). To me, those are the very reasons we have Christmas. Because of love, sacrifice, and living for and giving to others….those thoughts that ran rampant throughout my mind during that season For our family at MMC, these feelings are something that we have everyday. Those feelings…those feelings are what brings us here, whether it be everyday, every month, or as the season approaches.

11:47- At the end of many long days, with many long trying times, with the change of a career, with some heartaches and heartbreaks….my “other” family was there…and kept the feelings of Christmas alive year-round. The fun I had reading all of the threads such as “The Perfect Christmas Village”, the threads about what we do on Christmas, Christmas Eve, favorite Christmas memories….you opened your door to me and let me into part of your world that you only share with family….thank you….

11:53 As I open my first season here at MMC…I want to thank you for that….you…..each and everyone….have brought me sunshine at the end of a long day…..and I look forward to spending this holiday with you just like I did that first year (and every year since) with my wife. The mark of a person is the difference they make in your life…and this year….you made my life a much happier place.

11:59 It is with a joyous heart that I have the privilege to say to you….10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2

12:00 Friends, may you have a Merry Christmas!
With the utmost respect and love,
Ballcoach

PS….IT’S REALLY COLD HERE NOW!! But Aretha is singing Christmas tree…so it’s better…..and the laptop is in my lap and the battery is kinda warm….so that has helped to…but it’s about to go out….

12:07- Good night MMC
