Christmas Countdown - 2009

Took a walk around Crabtree Valley Mall yesterday (getting some more photos for the Blossoms thread!) and the speakers were playing Bing Crosby's Merry Christmas album!
Not only that, but Santa is in residence.
(Will post his photo once I can get a good one)

That's beautiful!! It seems as if Crabtree Valley Mall is the place to be for the Christmas Season! I'd love to hear Bing while I walk through any mall. Nice to know that Santa has already made it out this year. I saw his station at the Billings Bridge Plaza (the small mall where I my banking and groceries), but he was not yet there. Toronto has already held its annual Santa Claus Parade. That usually means his arrival should be any time this week!

I can't believe I keep forgetting to bring my camera with me. So much blossoming!

I celebrated the start of the season on Sunday with an egg nog and some football (both CFL playoffs) and NFL and did some shopping on the weekend as well.

Dec is getting closer and closer....

Too little to do (parties, preparations, shopping) and work too and so little time...

Well right now I putting my Christmas shopping on hold untill black friday. I'm just going to focus on preping for Thanksgiving. My mom and I will be doing the major food shopping next monday. We don't want to be in the market during the Thanksgiving rush but we don't want to food shop to early, cut down on the cludder in the refrigerator. Man I can't wait till next thursday!

Cold and rainy today. Hopefully it turns to snow soon! We are planning on getting the rest of the lights up this weekend. Our neighbor is going to help us with our evergreen. That should be fun! (yeah right! lol)

Another long day....ball game duty and I was wrong...it's every night but Thursday night...but that's ok too...my kids (not really mine but at my school) love seeing me there and I enjoy rooting them on...

Indeed. And it's my better half's birthday today so we are going out to dinner.

Watched Merry Madagascar twice yesterday (eastern and west time zones).

Getting believe how fast the time is moving.

It's overcast again today, but the temperature is still in the upper 60's. I hope it cools off soon. It's hard to listen to Christmas music while it's 85° outside with the A/C running!

We have the same problem around here. People keep reminding me that Thanksgiving is really soon, but I have a hard time believing it. I haven't even gotten out my winter jacket yet! What's up with this?

Good morning everyone! I have a semi-busy day ahead of me. Just yesterday, a lady from Consol Energy called me and said they're not hiring engineers right now, but she wants to meet me. Today. So, I gotta make sure my suit is cleaned and I need to update my resume and profile. I don't know if this is an interview, since they're not hiring, but I'm going to treat it as one.

Isn't it a little strange though? I mean, they're not hiring. Will they be hiring soon? Does she want to hire me for a non-engineering position? I'll take it, if that's the case!! I'll let you know the answer to this mystery when I find out.

Oh, how true. I have yet to purchase a single Christmas gift so far this year, although I do have all of my Christmas cards. (Gotta beat the rush on that - those Hallmark aisles are not very wide!)

Overcast here this morning, with rain in the forecast for today and tomorrow. We currently stand at 55 degrees.

OK, Holiday! Not many more peak-of-the-week trips left between now and Christmas. But Carl has prepared his special eggnog blend and is waiting for everyone on the Shispering Pines rooftop deck to take in that good view of the weekend!

Good Wednesday morning, my Christmas friends!

I've been working late these days, trying to get caught up so I can spend more time with my family during the holidays. I'm almost caught up!

We've been planning a trip to the mountains the day after Thanksgiving, but my old labrador came down with a bad case of pneumonia, and has to be given medicine twice a day, and kept still during the day. I don't know how long it'll take him to get over it, but he's been with me for 14 years, walking every step beside me. If he's not better by Thanksgiving, I'll cancel my trip and stay to help my good boy.

I hope he gets better soon, not just to salvage my trip, but because he really is such a good boy.
