The night of Dec. 24–25 (Christmas Eve) is the first night, and the night of January 4–5 is the twelfth night. In the Middle Ages, a new day began at sundown, with the evening, hence the word "eve". The Feast of the Epiphany began on the night of January 5–6.

I saw the mailman today and announced proudly there were 556 days to go until Christmas and he laughed and said he was going to post it on his Facebook page and let me know how that went over with his postal chums next time we meet.

Good morning everyone. I am getting ready to go out and work again today. I am going to be working close to home again and I hope to be back by mid afternoon. It is another cold one here today. They are calling for a high of 20 and right now we are at 13. I hope everyone has a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Coach- I just read an article where they interviewed Lance Mcgrew and he guaranteed that junior would make it into the chase this year. It sounds like the pit crew is going to be the same but they have made alot of changes back at the shop.

Good morning all. Well my first day of work for the new year was pretty uneventfull, hopefully it will stay that way. Actually I am trying to find a new job, this one just isn't cutting it, pay is terrible, and the insurance is worse. It's also not great working for a supervisor that never did the job, hard to respect her opinion on how I should do the job.

But no matter where you are, it seems to be COLD!
We are at 24 and won't get a whole lot warmer today.
The weather service still says it will get worse before it gets better and we could hit 16 by early Sunday morning.
(Don't say a word to me about global warming until this cold snap is over!)

Good morning, everyone!

It has just dawned on me that today may be the "12th Day of Christmas." Isn't it? Or is it tomorrow? This date formerly concluded the Christmas Season. It still may now for some people, but it seems as if New Years has taken over the conclusion more recently.

Only 12 more days until the 300 mark? Christmas can't come soon enough! I'm kidding (somewhat). I look forward to this year and all the new opportunities it will bring me. Perhaps 2010 will be the most dynamic year of my life. I will be graduating from university with my undergrad degree, hopefully moving into teachers college and more than likely going to Europe for a few weeks (Germany and the Czech Republic, mainly).

Well, today is my first day back at work in more than a month, so I guess I should return to getting some things done. I was not really looking to return to work but at least it's accompanied by more frequent stops on the forum! Have a great day, everyone!

Such a comfort to know that the countdown is here even when Christmas was barely two weeks ago! And that we are close to the 300 day window! Crown is brilliant!

Yesterday was tough, first day back and all...today a bit better...Onward and upward!

Lots of Snow in the North of England and quite heavy I have not seen it like this for years and we have an average temperatures of around 32f its expected to drop to around 25 later

It's been unusually cold here in Alabama this week, with the high today going up to 29. But....they are calling for snow on Thursday!!! It almost never snows here and I am soooooo excited. If I couldn't have a white Christmas, I'll take this!:
