Happy Hump Day!!!! I'm on my way to the pines with a fresh pot of House Blend Coffee! :)

Have a great time on vacation Crown! ENJOY!!!

the US advanced to the next round of the FIFA Soccer World Cup...superb...didn´t lose the spirit in their team and went on to score in overtime....crrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrazy

Especially for the Crowns who are off on their annual visit to our relatives in Melbourne, Florida.
We leave bright and very early Friday morning, which again brings up the need for a countdown volunteer. Said lucky (or unlucky?) member would be needed for this Friday morning through the following Tuesday morning (5 posts).
Any takers?

I can handle it everyday except for Saturday. We are leaving early Saturday morning to head down to Hughesville, Maryland for the day for a family reunion on hubby's side of the family.

All this weight loss on the board... do you think there's hope for me post-baby? Maybe it'll fall right off with all of you all shedding the pounds! Here's hopin'!

My baby just turned five and I'm still waiting for my "baby fat" to melt away! I love the Three P's: Pepsi, Pasta, & Potatos---and chocolate. I need to lose 34 pounds to get to my goal weight, 22 pounds to pre-baby weight. Obviously I don't "want" to lose the weight, or I'd do something about it. I've never liked being told "what to do" and I guess a change in lifestyle would be that way, so that's why I'm resisting. It's no fun shopping for myself like it was in the "good old days". Fluffy folks don't look as good in the cute stuff as the skinny people do!

Where are you Christmas? I'm starting to get into the mood. I'm wanting to watch Elmo's Countdown to Christmas with DD. Maybe she'll be up for that tonight! I've overheard her singing Christmas songs over the past couple of weeks and she enjoyed going to The Incredible Christmas Place in Pigeon Forge, TN last Friday for a little while to look at everything there. She is my child---Christmas and chocolate are two of our loves!

Brent---what do you think of the Bruins trade for Horton. I personally like the move.

I love the move. I read reports that the Bruins were interested in Horton sometime last week and they excited me a lot. For a big guy, Horton has natural hands and can easily be a perennial 30+ goal scorer with an elite playmaking centre like Savard. Even Krecji and Bergeron could make him a consistent 25 goal scorer.

The Bruins are in a "win now" mode. Obviously, we know what happened in the past two seasons, but goal scoring seemed to be their ultimate downfall. Horton should right that. Losing Wideman should not be that much of an issue. As long as the Bruins can re-sign Boychuk and Stuart, they should be just fine. Both should command about $2 million. Perhaps Boychuk may deserve an escalating contrac that may have a cap hit of about $2.5. In my mind, he was their best defenseman throughout the playoffs. The 15th overall pick was basically expendible. The Bruins have plenty of great prospects and they are in store for two elite (and possibly immediate impact) prospects in the next two drafts. Seguin or Hall will fill the void this year and they should receive a top three pick next year as Toronto will again struggle to win games.

To me, Horton is a classic Bruins forward. He is big, strong and loves to go into the corners. He would work well with Lucic on on the left side or even a natural sniper because he will open up plenty of the ice - something that Lucic should do as long as he stays healthy next year. As long as the Bruins can stay under the cap (trading Thomas will assist them with this) without losing any key members, they are my favourite to win the East next year. These playoffs proved that it was a wide open conference - something I had been saying all year long - and they have the skill and size to win it all next year. I'm excited. Long post, but I love talking hockey.

Good afternoon, everyone!!

I had a meeting in the morning and it went a bit longer than expected... We're heading downward toward the weekend - and most of all that half way to Christmas Day Milestone!! Like Crown, however, it appears that I will be away this weekend, too. We have a tournament just outside of Boston - Devins, MA. It is a favourite tournament of mine. The fields are nice and the weather is usually very cooperative. I had thought about taking the weekend off because of my hamstring injury, but it seems to be recuperating at the pace I need. I have been practicing the past week or so and I am hoping I can play without tensor bandaging it this weekend. We'll see. I just hope that I don't injure it any more as I have to leave for Worlds in Prague on July.

Plenty of stuff going on. Kim and I viewed the apartment last night and we both want it! Unfortunately, Mike had to work and was unable to join us. He's viewing it on Thursday. It is a bit smaller than our current apartment - two bedrooms rather than three - but it is in a prime location and will be a money saver as I move out of town for about 5-6 months out of the 8 month school year. The tenants were so nice and really hope that we take it. Kim and I have our fingers crossed for Mike to give it the final OK! Tomorrow could be a big day for decisions. Aside from the apartment, my final payment for Teachers College should go throhugh. Afterward, I will be confirmed to attend in the fall. As previously mentioned, my placement was confirmed to be in Ottawa - as of this morning - so I won't be away that much after all!

Hopefully everything is well with everyone else!! The humidity here is pretty heavy today. Could be as high as 97F this afternoon with humidex. I'm not looking forward to leaving work and stepping into that!! Have a great Wednesday, everyone!

Middle-of-the-week greetings to one and all.

Yes, we are again at the peak of the week and as usual, the view to the weekend looks great!
Especially for the Crowns who are off on their annual visit to our relatives in Melbourne, Florida.

Well, have a Wonderful Wednesday, Everybody!
Holiday, Carl and I will be on hand at the 'Pines to welcome all visitors.
(And the first glass of Sweet Southern Iced Tea is on the house!)
I don't know if you're planning to come through Claxton, GA again (highway 301) on Friday. If so, I'll offer you a big glass of my mother-in-law's sweet tea (the best around!) We're leaving for vacation this Saturday, as well.

Have a great trip, Crown!

Ahhh, I see... sorry to hear that, but yes, I suppose it does take a lifestyle change to lose weight. Right after I had my son, I lost all the weight very quickly about 2 years ago and I'm praying it happens again but who knows!

Thanks as usual, Minta!
Anyone want to volunteer for Saturday morning only so we won't have a "break in the count"?

Thanks, Brad. I hope you have a nice trip, too.

When I travel alone, I love to take 301 and see the small towns we drove through when we first started the annual trek 42 years ago, but the rest of the family likes speed and fast food restaurants so we normally take I-95.
(I'm out-voted!)

i´m tired and ready to sleep...I am happy...Germany advanced to the next round...the US have advanced....really great

I'd be honoured to take a MILESTONE day, but unfortunately, I should be out of town. Saturday is half way to Christmas Day! I think someone should jump all over this!
