On our way to Target this morning started off sad. We were going down the road (very busy road) and saw 3 boys standing over a little dog who was laying on the curb shaking. I told Wayne maybe we should turn around and see if we can help. We went over there and this poor little dog, maybe 10 lbs., was laying there, labored breathing, eyes closed and trembling. They told me their dad saw the dog at 2:30 in the morning in the middle of the street and moved it to the curb. He said he called the pound but they have yet to come pick up the dog. I was kind of shock seeing it was almost 10:00 am and the dog was suffering this whole time. At that time a young lady came over to the dog and she didn't know who it belonged to but told me she sees dogs running around all the time outside. Wayne and I wrapped him in a blanket and told them we will take him to the vet and to let whoever know if they are looking for him what vet to call.

I took him into the vet office and it was crowded but they rushed him back to a room ahead of everyone else. I told them the situation and was really afraid they would send me somewhere else since it wasn't my dog. The vet took a look and said they will have to euthanize him. I thought since it was a stray is why they said that but I asked what would it cost to try to work on him and they explained that all the money in the world would not save him. They explained the condition but I forgot the name of it. Something to do with being paralyzed/coma with the labor breathing and he would not respond to anyone. Even though it was sad I was glad to see this poor little guy not suffer anymore.

I don't want to accuse this dog owner of neglect but I see it in my neighborhood, ALL THE TIME, people letting their dogs out the front door without a leash to go potty. I don't get it! They have backyards and don't use them for their dogs. We live in a very busy city with speeding cars all around. :-?
So sad.
Even sadder to think someone may have had their pet escape and have been looking for him and now may never know what has become of their beloved pet. It does happen, our cat once got out (not an outdoor cat) and was gone for 3 days before we found her again. I cried a lot thinking I would never see her again then cried even more when I held her in my arms again.

Well...I'm listening to MERRY CHRISTMAS RADIO as I am on MMC tonight! It is really GREAT and CHRISTMASSY!!!

I actually had the Christmas music playing all day today!

I hope you all had a wonderful day...and I'm wishing you a MERRY evening!
I was listening to that last night. When my daughter came home she thought I had gone off the deep end! cheesy

Christmas-a-Holic... so sorry to hear about the pup but bless your heart for taking it to get help. He doesn't have to suffer anymore because of you!
Let me know about the candle! I have a Big Lots right down the street so I'd love to pick some up! AC Moore actually has really cheap, big candles ($3!!!) and the scent lasts!!! I love their fall scents.

When my kids lived with me - and I'd be playing Christmas music in...let's say...JUNE!...they would ask me, "Is it Christmas already?" - and I'd say, "In this house it is"!

I had the BEST time listening to MCR this evening! What a GREAT show it was!!!

Yes, my heart breaks that they might be looking for him. I just worry about all these other dogs running lose all over the place and it's deliberate. I have found dogs running around and try to return them to their owner only to have them say they knew they were outside and tell me they let them out like this all the time. It seems to be VERY common around my neighborhood and I hope that wasn't the case with this little dog. One of my dogs has escaped a couple of times and I am sure it could happen again. I would be a mess if she got lost. I finally fixed the holes in the fence so hopefully she is safe now.

I feel for you about your cat missing for a few days. It is a scary feeling but so glad you found her! cheesy

I'm heading to bed. Goodnight Everyone!!!!!!

good morning everyone. today we going to eat with my grandmother for her 80s birthday to have some nice food

Nothing wrong with Christmas music this early, no better way to end an evening with a jingle on in the background, which is one right now.

An early good morning to you all.. I've been up since 2:30 and haven't been able to go back to bed! AHHH!

Is there no leash law there? Where I live a dog may not run arund loose, the owner would be fined and then loose the animal if they continued to let it run loose.
It is sad to think owners would not care to keep them safe.

YIKES! You were up early! Hopefully you were able to get some more sleep!

Good morning Christmas friends!

Well...my head is bothering me again today. With the humidity one day - and none the next...my head doesn't know which way its going (I suffer from migraines). Its not really bad right now though so hopefully it won't take much to feel better!

Not too much planned today (especially if my head doesn't feel better...but I'll think positively though).

I simply wanted to pop in and wish you all the merriest of mornings! Stay smiling...and stay Christmassy!!!

Yes we have a leash law but doesn't seem to be enforced. It has gotten way out of hand around here. You don't really see the big dogs running around as much but you see little ones all the time. I see the same ones over and over running around by their selves and never have tags on them. The owners let them out and just trust they come home. :-? In fact yesterday when we saw that little dog and that lady that showed up as well mentioned how she sees dogs running around everywhere. It is really sad when you see this happen and most people do assume the dog belongs to someone just letting them out the front door on purpose. I really hope that this is not the case with the dog we found but it had no tags. It ruins it for the others that do take care of their dogs. If mine was to escape I doubt anyone would try to catch them and return them. They would assume I just let mine out too. Mine at least has tags and if I see other dogs with tags I catch them and call the owners. They are the ones that usually have dogs who escaped and not let out on purpose.

I did tell the kids and that lady that if they hear of someone looking for their dog that fits that description to call the vets office I took him to. I also told the vet they may get a call from someone looking for their dog. The vet said they were going to check for a microchip as well.

I think all of us would benefit from lower humidity, ChristmasHeart.. what a brutal summer, huh?

I laid on the couch a bit and dozed off for just a little while... ahhh, pregnancy-induced insomnia is the worst! I was hoping I'd have the baby by now but it looks like I'll likely be overdue with this one, too! (I was 11 days late with my first.) Oh well, what can ya do!?

I'm heading out today to cheer myself up and look at Christmas items in stores!! :) Or at least fall stuff if I can't find Christmas~!

Yes...its the MOST brutal summer I can ever remember!

Hey...who knows...maybe you getting out and walking around might push things along for you! We are pullin' for ya!

Good morning, friends! Hope this finds everyone enjoying a nice, lazy Sunday. Thinks are ok here. Just alot going on. However, there won't be alot going on today. Not planning on leaving the house.

Man, I hate to hear about animals like that. I'm a huge animal lover and it just breaks my heart to hear things like that.

Well, I'm going to be around for a while reading the boards. I will see you later.
