This being my first year here, I have noticed a lot of new and/or different names I haven't seen before lately. That is so cool how many people come back at this time of year.

I'm right there with you - my first year too !!! It has been an AMAZING year. I sure hope your little ones are feeling better !!!!

Hey All! Hope you had a great weekend. We did. William now has a Toy Story toddler bed! He needs more meds for heart burn so he isn't sleeping right now :( But we will be seeing the doctor soon. Sunday we went to Michaels craft store. MAN they have a lot of Christmas stuff up. William loved the Christmas village setup. He was saying "Car" when he saw the village with a car in it. He wanted to pick it up and play with it LOL. They have halloween villages out too! They were neat. William DIDN'T like the tall talking skeleton at all. Had friends over saturday. We played video games and had a bbq. Hope everyone else has a great monday!

I keep forgetting to go to Michael's.. I really want to go now!

Good Morning Christmas friends,

Sunny and cool here in NJ. It will be almost 80 this afternoon but at least the nights and mornings are cool. I did some Christmas Exploring this weekend. Which is just a fancy term for Window Shopping I guess. I am trying to find stuff for my 4 year old daughter. So I went to the toy store, and went up and down aisles and made a list of some things I want to consider. Of course I have to wait for her to start asking for stuff, but I am hoping to be familiar with things she asks for. Now why is this such a huge deal? Because I feel so out of touch. My kids are spread out so far apart. My oldest son 27, middle son 17(will be 18 on 9/18), and then there is the youngest who is 4year old GIRL !! Yes, one of Gods surprises but what a blessing..... believe me, my husband and I are still in shock we are starting all over again. Oh, and did I mention we have a 6 year old granddaughter? Anyway, I went looking around for ideas for her. I really got excited about the holidays by simply window shopping. I had a lot of fun. I count down the days to put up the tree with her. I think she will be all about the Christmas Season too and not focused on one day. Well, enough about me....I hope all of you had a wonderful weekend and I hope today will be Merry and Bright for you all.

Welcome Back SEAWATERS!!!!! cheesy

My first full week in the ranks of the unemployed. Going to talk to the folks at the trucking school today. Already have a job offer to team drive with my girlfriend once I have my licence.
Who knows, one day I may show up in your town and have a cup of tea with you! (if you live in the USA or Canada that is) cheesy
Best of luck to you on the job hunt!

Oh yes, please stop by to visit us! **Imagining a beautiful cake in hand when she arrives**

Is it Monday already? YIKES! What a fast weekend that was! Whenever we have our granddaughter here...the weekend goes by way too quickly! I guess its because we are having soooooooo much fun.
So glad you had a great weekend, you deserve it!
soooooooo everyone.... I am thinking about taking out my fall decorations... too early???
Like everyone else said, not too early! I had a few things out as early as August!

Just curious if he has been checked for food allergies? I had chronic stomach problems and heartburn for years. No dr. ever told me to check for allergies for my stomach and I went to plenty of specialist. I happen to go for allergy testing for my hayfever. When I was tested for hayfever, I discovered I had several food allergies. I changed the way I eat over a year and half ago and was able to get off of all stomach medications and never suffer from heartburn anymore. I hate to say never because it could happen again but a year and half without it is great! In the past if I skipped one day of not taking Nexium I would have issues. I don't take that at all anymore and been off it for over a year. I still have occasional stomach problems but it use to be 24/7, now it might be once or twice a month. Usually it's my fault because I slipped and ate something I shouldn't have. The problem is, some doctors will not even suggest being tested. I just happen to get this done for hayfever.

I hope he starts feeling better!

We enjoy hearing about others! We are all here to have great conversation. cheesy

A man in the town I grew up in passed away recently. His house was THE house to see at Christmas, in fact, his obit said "Mr. Christmas". His family put together an estate sale and I went but was unable to even see the Christmas things as they were locked away. They want to sell them but as a complete lot..I don't have enough room to display what he had nevermind store it...But they have my number...I told them I might know a group of people who'd have an interest in some of his things!!! Wish me luck!

We had a lady here in town that was the same way. When I was a little kid, I remember mom & dad taking me to see Mrs. Shuman's yard display. She used the same display up until her death a couple years ago. It was by no means that largest or most expensive display, but it was traditional for everyone in the county to go by Mrs. Shuman's during Christmas.

Her family donated the display to a very nice man down the road from her house. He always had a yard display, and it's great to see the familiar stuff from Mrs. Shumans' still out. I always look for the enclosed case that has a dancing Santa, and an elf dancing on puppeteer strings.

Good luck with the job hunt!!

Good Monday morning, my Christmas friends!

It was another busy weekend. We had a new festival in town: The Chick'n Pick'n Festival. The largest business in our area is Claxton Poultry, although we are primarily known for Old Fashioned Claxton Fruitcake. I've always thought it was unfair to the poultry operation. They are by far the largest employer here, but the water tower in the middle of town proclaims "CLAXTON, GA - FRUITCAKE CAPITAL OF THE WORLD", even though their employment is limited and seasonal.

Anyway, the festival was pretty good. They had a chicken cookoff, hot wing eating contest, music, arts & crafts, etc. But, boy, it was hot outside. there's obviously nothing glamourous about a poultry plant (or a fruitcake bakery, for that matter), but hopefully the festival will keep growing, finally giving out largest employer the respect it deserves.

I hope you all have a great day! cheesy

My son-in-law is off work today so I don't have the kids. I am now glad of that because I felt like I was wide awake ALL NIGHT LONG! Then at one time I was sleeping so sound and my little doggy needed to go out to potty. He rarely wakes me in the middle of the night to do that. At first I was like, noooo, don't wake me, then again I am so glad he is around and he is welcomed to wake me up anytime. I love my doggys! I slept in this morning and my dog knew it because he patted me on the head with his paw. He does that when I sleep late. When I look up at him he looks at me with those sweet eyes and it's as if he is saying, "mommy, please wake up"!

Even though the Cowboys lost last night I am so glad football season is here! Whoever was watching the game knows that last play was terrible! At first I screamed with excitement thinking we won then went right to, "you gotta be kidding"! Oh well, maybe we will get the next game!

I really need to get some chores done around here and get some more fall decorations out!

I hope you all have a good Monday!

I picked the Cowboys and Colts to go to the Superbowl this year. Look what happened to both of them, see what happens when I pick a team?:-?

William isnt allergic to anything so far. He does have my asthma though.
Aww.. I had asthma as a child, now my son and grandson have it. It's a scary thing.

Well, it's good you got allergy testing out of the way. So many things can cause heartburn and can be difficult to know what it is. Hopefully you can find out what it is.

I had no idea I was allergic to dairy, wheat and gluten. I have ate it all my life and now I have gave it up the best I can. I could eat that stuff all day and no symptoms show up right away so it was difficult to know what I was allergic to without being tested. I occasionally will eat products containing those ingredients but I try to stay away the best I can.

Back from my walk and feeling good. Waiting for the truck driving school to call me back..................waiting.............waiting.....hmm, phone not ringing. I think I will call them back soon if they don't call me soon.

Good Morning, Everybody.

A new week dawns, along with a new count figure - and we are yet another step closer to our next Milestone:
Days to the Season: 61
Days to Christmas Day: 103
And you read right - we are now UNDER half a week away from the 100-day Window to Christmas 2010.
Not only that, but the Season starts exactly 2 months from today.
So close!

A beautiful morning here. Birds are singing, dogs are barking, children are screaming......oh, you get the idea.
It is another wonderfully walkable 75 degrees outside.

Anyway, you have a Marvelous Monday and a Stupendous Start to your work week, Folks!

(A word of apology for the tardy post this morning.
My phone line is out at home so I had to search down another computer to type this.
Hopefully the problem will be solved soon.)

Beautiful day here, the sun is out they sky is blue! A bit chilly at only 18c, but that is what fall is all about!

Sorry to hear of his passing. Best of luck in possibly getting some items!

We have a neighbor nearby who went all out decorating his house for Christmas. Over the spring he had a big yard sale selling all his Christmas stuff. He said he has been too ill to keep up with it. We did buy a wooden 3 piece train sign for our yard from him. It was only 3 bucks and he said he has had it since the 70's. I am glad we can put something in our yard from his display.
