Sounds like a great time!Good Monday morning, my Christmas friends!
It was another busy weekend. We had a new festival in town: The Chick'n Pick'n Festival. The largest business in our area is Claxton Poultry, although we are primarily known for Old Fashioned Claxton Fruitcake. I've always thought it was unfair to the poultry operation. They are by far the largest employer here, but the water tower in the middle of town proclaims "CLAXTON, GA - FRUITCAKE CAPITAL OF THE WORLD", even though their employment is limited and seasonal.
Anyway, the festival was pretty good. They had a chicken cookoff, hot wing eating contest, music, arts & crafts, etc. But, boy, it was hot outside. there's obviously nothing glamourous about a poultry plant (or a fruitcake bakery, for that matter), but hopefully the festival will keep growing, finally giving out largest employer the respect it deserves.
I hope you all have a great day! cheesy
Good thing I am off work today and not babysitting. I can help chat it up! Forget the chores that are needed in my house, just need to get to 10,000 mark! Ha ha!Just looked at the count and we need less than 100 posts to reach the 10,000 mark!!!

It can never get cold enough for me. I tell people that and then they see me with a coat. They actually ask, "why are you wearing a coat, I thought you like the cold weather"? Duh! I like cold weather, I never said I want to freeze to death! Lol! I have been here in Texas all my life and our winters are usually mild. We sometimes see days when it gets into the teens but it goes up and down and we can see winter days in the 50's. It's hard to believe as HOT as it gets here and when we get one day of "cold" weather around 45 degrees (not cold enough for me) and people will say, "it's too cold, I wish winter was over"! I know people who love our summers. I think they are crazy! Lol!Christmas-a-Holic, I wish we could share our cooler weather! Everyday this week is in the 70s - it's wonderful! I would prefer it cooler, though.. I am nuts!
Aww.. Poor baby. How cute that he wants to see Halloween decorations. That is the cure all, you know? =)He is so cute, he was crying that he wanted to go home and as we were walking out of the office he was still crying but said "I wanna see Halloween decorations." So I took him to see some at CVS to help him ease his pain, and now he is watching Frosty's Winter Wonderland.
Can all you guys up north put up a HUGE FAN and blow some cooler weather my way????????? PLEASE!
This heat is killing me!
Oh thank you but I just stepped outside to check my mail and it's still miserable! I can't breath out there!![]()

I'm a winter, too. I love wearing sweaters! (They're poofy, so I don't have to watch what I eat as much cheesy)It can never get cold enough for me. I do admit when it gets close to March I kind of look forward to some warmer weather but not HOT! I at least want to have a winter first. Overall I prefer COLD weather!
My first full week in the ranks of the unemployed. Going to talk to the folks at the trucking school today. Already have a job offer to team drive with my girlfriend once I have my licence.
Who knows, one day I may show up in your town and have a cup of tea with you! (if you live in the USA or Canada that is) cheesy

I barely run the heater during the winter. I just bundle up in lots of layers of clothes. People complain my house is chilly but I love it! Of course when the grandbaby is over I don't keep it that chilly.I'm a winter, too. I love wearing sweaters! (They're poofy, so I don't have to watch what I eat as much cheesy)
Whoever was watching the game knows that last play was terrible! At first I screamed with excitement thinking we won then went right to, "you gotta be kidding"! Oh well, maybe we will get the next game!
