It is warm but not too warm today here in Ohio and this weekend is the next Hallmark Ornament premiere !!
Wayne and I will be there. Thanks for the reminder!
Good Afternoon Everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wow 90% to the season. In no time we will all be gathering here to ring in the season together. Today has been kind of a lazy day for me. I took some benadryl to help with my allergies this morning and it knocked me out. Tonight our big festival here in town starts. I don't think I will go out tonight but I will defintely be there early tomorrow to see all of the crafts and for some of that good deep fried food. I usually go with my mom and aunt on friday to see if they like anything in the craft booths and then on saturday I go back out and buy it for them to put back for christmas. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!

We were able to do quite a bit of group work when I was working on my Master's Degree and when I began my doctorate. Then, when we did the celebrating at the end of semesters, I certainly did my part!!! I am so glad my teacher placement is over--short time to retirement!! Good luck to you and Happy Thanksgiving!

...Today, I have my final presentation before practicum begins on Tuesday. It is another group presentation, so it will definitely lighten the load. Afterward, I am done for the day! Although there is 8:30 class tomorrow morning, apparently tonight is a big "party" night amongst the Teachers College students. Everyone who is not remaining in North Bay for their practicum will be heading home for Thanksgiving and teaching placement. This means that it is the last opportunity for us all to "celebrate" our final night of the five weeks of classes that we have had. I think I may suck it up a bit and have some fun tonight. Not too much, but some. Well, I should work on my presentation and make sure I deliver my notes properly!....QUOTE]

Wow, I actually got everything done that I wanted to do! Got out for a walk to the park earlier than anticipated (and made a new friend for Jude!), did TONS of laundry, got everything cleaned, dusted, and lots of organizing... My basement is still not finished, even being here 2+ months. I feel like we packed all the junk we never unpacked from our old house almost 5 years ago and just moved it, lol!

Hi everyone! It is a good day here in Pa! Hockey season starts tonight! We are Pens fans in my household and are very excited for the season to be starting! I work tonight at 11, but I am off the weekend. It was warmer out today (60's). It was much warmer than it has been the past couple of days and it the sun was out! No rain! Looking foward to the weekend! Hope everyone else had a nice day and is looking towards the weekend too! cheesy

Good evening, everyone!

The presentation went well and I only have one more morning before heading back to Ottawa! I doubt that I will have time to come online tomorrow - not until the night at least. Hoping tonight is full of fun. It will be good to "celebrate" with classmates one last time before we all head our separate ways for practicum. The hockey season begins tonight! I am not a Leafs and certainly not a Canadiens fan, but I will enjoy watching the game this evening. However, I am more so excited for the Kings season debut on Saturday night! Until then, I will wait with anticipation.

WOW! Our pages have changed, at least on my computer. I noticed the color change right away.

Coach- I have a topic I would like your opinion on and anyone else who wants to weigh in. What do you think about a year round school schedule? The township that I went to started it this year and the Indianapolis public school's are talking about starting next year. The school district here in town is waiting to see how it works out but is interested in going to it in the future. The kids are going 9 weeks and then have 2 weeks off. They get a summer break of 5 weeks. I am torn on the idea. I am sure that it would help the kids retain the knowledge better and probably help them from getting so burned out during the year. My problem is everything that it would change by just having a 5 week summer break. I worked at a boy scout camp during the summers. It took us 2 weeks to get ready for kids and then we would have 8 weeks of camp. We were always full and had to turn away groups that wanted to come. I talked to the ranger of the camp and he said that it is still the same way now. With only a 5 week summer break you would be able to have kids there for 3 weeks. That means you would have to cut the amount of kids that could come by almost 2/3. I also think it would be rough on employers who count on those kids for summer help and also the ones that have to deal with all the parents trying to squeeze their vacations in half the amount of time. So I guess if I look at it from a purely educational standpoint it is the right thing to do but if I look at the wider picture I am probably not in favor of it.

Well, going to sign off now, got to study my book some more if I am going to write that test tomorrow. (for class a license so I can drive a big rig)

Have a good sleep all! :stuffed:

Good evening all,

Going to bed early tonight since I have to be up at 6:15 to go to work early, I got home around 8:30 tonight and watched the Penguins game I DVR'ed, too bad they lost, but glad hockey is back so I can really say so long baseball. My Bruins start Saturday at noon, I am working at that time but will record it to watch later and then they play again Sunday morning at 10AM (they are in Prague, Czech Republic)
Have a great night!
