Happy Friday! I am sitting here at work talking about Turkey sizes lol. The lady I work with always tries to find the biggest turkey..and usually gets a 28 or 29 lb one. It makes me laugh because Dylan (youngest son) is 26 lbs and thinking of this turkey that is bigger then him makes me chuckle. I am so excited for the weekend and for the weeks coming up. I am going in about an hour on my lunch break to the animal shelter to look at a doggie. He is a black lab mix..hes a big boy .. about 80 lbs. My Hubby saw him last week and has met him twice. He said he is very sweet but skiddish a little because of all the noise at the pound. Hopefully we will take the Boys to meet him tomorrow and if all is good we will adopt him. Im very nervous but hope when I meet him I will get a gut feeling if he is right for us cheesy

Picked up my turkey today and it is in the fridge downstairs defrosting.
It is a lovely sunny and slightly warmer day here and is supposed to go over 22c this weekend. We will be having a great Thanksgiving this year!

Bless your heart !! So many people forget about the shelter dogs, always want a puppy and there is nothing wrong with that but shelter babies have so much to give !! Good luck with him. I am sure he is sweet and if you have a gut feeling that is all the more positive !!! Let us know what happens !! cheesy

It seems like most of the parents and the students here like the idea. I think the consensus is that they need to install A/C in the Indianapolis Public Schools though if they are going to have the kids there during more of the summer.

Personally I like the idea. The public schools in my area haven't converted yet. But, we do have a Charter School run by Rutgers University which has year round education. I think it gives the kids the opportunity to absorb more knowledge over a longer period of time. I was also surprised that the parents and students didn't seem to mind the longer school year. I think its just a matter of time before all schools in the US will have converted to year round education.

OMG...that must be hysterical picturing a turkey to be larger than your son. Too cute!! Good luck with the doggie. I hope when you lay eyes on him, you feel he will be a perfect addition to your family!!

We basically adopted our doggie. We are taking the Boys tomorrow to pick him up as long as all goes well. He seems very sweet. Im still nervous but am happy to be saving his life!
 
Bear a kind thought for we displaced Canadians that can track down turkey and cranberries but for whom pie pumpkins and pumpkin pie are non-existent!!! I used my last tin of ED Smith's Pumpkin Pie filling so we will be pie-less on Sunday!!!

gettin tired here...been watching a Soccer qualification match for the Euro Championships in 2012....Germany played against Turkey in Berlin.....There are around 300.000. turkish stemming people living in berlin.....so the homegame was more like an away game....lol...it was a good, fair game....and to my delight....Germany won 3:0
 
I hope all of our friends north of the border have a Happy Thanksgiving!!!!!!!!!!
