The kid that try to steal my pumpkin walked by my house today on the way home from school with his brother and some friends. I decided to wave hi to them and the one boy told on his brother again and said he tried to steal the pumpkin. I asked does he want a pumpkin or just trying to be mean. He said he was being mean. The one trying to steal it kept walking with his head down. I told him that he could talk to me, I am not mad.

They turned the corner then they both came back and he said he didn't mean to do that and he is sorry. I forgave him and told him since he came back and talked to me that he could have the pumpkin and I gave it to him. (I cleaned it up first). I hope the kids don't get the idea that they can steal something then return to my house with an apology to get something. Lol!

I went on to tell him that if he tries to steal again, he might steal from the wrong person and they are not going to be as nice as me and they might call the police. I know that sounds extreme but kids sometimes move onto bigger things that require the police. I even told him that I do watch out my window and other neighbors watch out of theirs so don't try that again to me or anyone else. He said ok and thanked me for the pumpkin.

All is good! cheesy

That is so nice of you !! Diplomacy always seems to fit and you used it so nicely !

It has been a nice day at work. My co workers bought me an ice cream cake (my favorite) for my Birthday. I went over to BJ's on my lunch break and found battery operated lights. I bought 2 packs of them. They are 13 feet long and for indoor or outdoor use..and have a 8 hour timer. They sound really neat. I cant wait to get home and see how they look. I also bought my Christmas cards. They have little ornaments as a border and you slide your own 4 x 6 photo into it. They also have the ornaments on the outside of the envelope. I love them! One more thing off my list to do its also a beautiful day outside. In the low 70's and sunny. It will be feeling more fallish the next few days with temps in the 60's and even 50's and rain!

That was very nice of them !! The lights sound wonderful !!

I'm back, baby! cheesy

Good Tuesday morning, my Christmas friends!

I've been gone on vacation since Thursday afternoon. We went to the Smoky Mountains and attended the Foothills Fall Festival in Maryville, TN. It was a BLAST! Lots of great southern rock with Lynyrd Skynyrd and 38 Special, along with many other groups. Boy, we did a lot of riding, though. We stayed in Maggie Valley, NC and commuted to Maryville, about 2 hours away on Friday and Saturday. Sunday we went to Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, TN, about 1.5 hours away. Then a 6 hour trip home yesterday. But I loved every minute of it!

I have a lot of catch-up reading to do here. It's great to be back!

I hope you all have a great day!

Welcome Back !!! Glad you had a good time ! It wasn't the same on here without you !

Good morning all,

I just want to apologize for being a downer lately, and thank you for the kind words you all have sent me.

Have a good Tuesday.

Ron

Ron......That is what FAMILY especially Christmas family does !! No need to apologize. I hope things get better for you. You are a great Christmas friend !

 When I was little, a friend triple-dog-dared me to snag a package of Bazooka bubble gum from the corner store. I did. It was the worst gum I ever chewed in my entire life. The comic inside wasn't funny either. I never would have pulled it off, but there were stacks of bread blocking the view of the store clerk. I thought he was the nicest man of all who worked there. If he wore a red and white suit, he could pass for Santa, but he'd need a fake beard and tummy. It was his blue eyes and happy smile that made him seem so jolly.

Anyway ... so I'm at home and acting funny after ditching my friend and my mom was folding laundry. I asked her about my situation beginning with "what if ...." and she was terribly disappointed. She did the best thing she could have done. She drove me to the store and waited outside while I went in. I waited until the customers cleared out and I explained what I had done and how horrible I felt about it. I offered him the 10 cents (which I had by the way) and asked if there was anything else I could do to make up for it. For the next two weekends, I helped stock the beverage coolers and swept the floor. I learned my lesson well. Never stole anything ever again after that.

:hello: I like the way you handled the situation.

Chrismtas-a-holic, we have two large lakes and a few bays and rivers around here and they're great for swimming, water sports and fishing. I love it here!

That part I highlighted in red made me laugh! All that trouble you went through and the gum was yucky and the comics were not funny! LOllll!

By the way, I failed to mention in my original post, this kid said he was dared by someone just like you were.

I keep remembering back when I was real young how kids reacted to the neighbor who has a very hot temper when a child messes up. Those are the neighbors that seem to become a target for more trouble. I am in NO WAY defending the child but I recall how a few of my friends would say something of the effect (just an example), "let's go throw eggs at so and so's house, they are so mean"! Not right for a kid to do that but I remember they use to act that way all the time. I am sure they still do that now.

Then I also remember a situation where me and a friend were walking down the alley and saw fresh cement. We got a stick and were going to sign our names. This man who just put it there smiled real big, was so sweet and said, "oh please don't do that, it took a lot of work". He was sooo nice that we told him sorry and left. I have a feeling if he cursed us out and been mean we might have returned later out of spite. I know we still would be in the wrong but I guess that is the way kids think sometimes.

I certainly don't want to be the neighbor that all the kids want to come and destroy my property.

I also want to warn this kid for his own safety that if he went to the wrong house it might be occupied by a loony that wants to harm him.

:rudolph: Here we go again ... that reminds me of the grumpy neighbour living next to us. He didn't like children, but his wife did. I used to visit her while he was at work. Once he came home for lunch and was mumbling in the kitchen until he heard me talking to her and telling her one of my stories and I heard him chuckle. AHA! When we were in our late teens, my brother and his friends decided to shovel his lawn because he said throwing the snow from our driveway onto his lawn dented it. So it was New Year's Eve and my brother and his friends were laughing hysterically coming in from outside. I had to find out way, they could barely get it out of them. It was after midnight and my brother had the big scoop kind of plough we used on our long driveway and had already removed the majority of the snow from the neighbour's yard when he arrived at the door fully dressed and told them to get off his property and that he'd be keeping an eye on my brother. My brother thought it was hilarious that he was guarding his lawn.
My mom said years after we moved from that neighbourhood and all went our own ways that whenever she ran into him, the neighbour always asked about me. Guess I got through to that Scrooge afterall.

By the way Brad, I got hit in the eye during Hold on Loosely. It was a song I loved by them and couldn't wait to hear it. That moment got ruined. Lol!
Well, that stinks! Sorry that happened to you. Crowds get a little too rowdy sometimes when live rock-n-roll is involved. At least at this concert, there was no smoking and no drinking. I only saw one fight. LOL!

Since Crown is already sleeping and you are having your second vat of coffee, allow me to share the answer.

Day 4 = Nov. 09 (Binger)

Better get busy writing down your merry thoughts. HaHa.

 How many sleeps until Darlene Love is on Letterman?

Martha Stewart has moved to the Hallmark Channel. She really has some great Halloween shows. I think she will be showing a lot through October.

When my grandmother was alive we had a "love/hate" attitude toward Martha Stewart. All in fun! We were jealous of her perfectionism. Now I enjoy Martha Stewart even more since it reminds me of my grandma who passed away in October 2003. I laugh at some of the things we use to say about Martha. I miss my grandma so much!

Good evening everyone,

I just want to say, all of you are awesome, checking up on me, it makes me feel so good that you care how I am doing. Thank you so much!

I got a lot off my mind tonight, my vacation time for Christmas has been approved, that lifted a TON off my mind, I talked to my manager and she has no problem approving it. Also I have been told I will be getting more help to get the freezer done for the Thanksgiving turkeys. I also reiterated I am ready at any time to become a manager again, to really help get things done at a level more than I can now. So for the first time in a few days I feel good, and relaxed, not stressing out. I have tomorrow off, so I will be going to Kmart to do another payment on our layaway, and checking out what new Christmas stuff they have put out. Then I will probably take LC to the playground for a little while.

Have a good night!

gotta go and pick up my daughter at work and then head off to dream about tests!
Good night, sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite!!!
