When I stopped by Walmart yesterday, the big Halloween banners were down, but they still had a Halloween section (leftovers which they were trying to sell on clearance). Christmas merchandise was still confined to the Lawn and Garden section, not in the main store, however, it has COMPLETELY taken over the Lawn and Garden section. They even had a CD player hooked up and it was playing Christmas music (to help set the mood, for shoppers). cheesy

52 days til christmas
well gang, i've been planning some festive days out today and this is what i've got so far:
*theme park with christmas meal and a magical trip to santa's grotto on november 28th.
*our local farm to see the animals and to see their christmas nativity scene AND to see santa in his grotto at the farm on december 1st.
*weekend in london, where i'll visit winter wonderland and do some christmas shopping on december 4th.
*my local village's christmas market and trip to the village grotto on december 11th
*trip to the village cinema on december 23rd with friends to see 'it's a wonderful life'
busy, fun, exciting time! my baby daughter is going to love all these visits to the grotto!

I found out I will also be learning to operate a fork lift.

I was able to get one room done, just need to put the tree up and wait for the stores to start selling the shiny paper door covers and then it will be 100%.
FYI If you have Comcast On Demand they have a whole section under the top picks section of nothing but Christmas movies, shows, and music videos. We have already enjoyed a number of the music videos.

Candy works! That can be the small gifts working up to the big present.I am having quite an alright day! I'ts now a week till my boyfriends birthday.. Had a great idea to buy him 23 gifts (he'll be 23), and hide them all over the hosue and put notes in balloons telling him where to find them.. as it turns out, it's not as easy as it seems to find 23 'good' gifts...I am getting some things that are more expensive (like CD"s and games), but I also want some meaningful and less expensive things... especially the less expensive things are difficult

We took the grandkids to the Science Museum today to see Dinosaurs Unearthed exhibit. They had life size animatronic dinosaurs that roared. It was really cool and we had fun!
Another day closer to Christmas! November 2nd is almost complete. It will be fantastic to see the window to the Christmas Season close in on 10 days tomorrow! I'm tired and heading to bed. Although I am not teaching for the next four weeks, sitting in a classroom and "learning" can be pretty exhausting, too.

Another chilly rainy day. I love it!
The grandkids will not be here today so I really hope my Christmas tree officially goes up. I will save the bottom part of the tree for the kids to decorate when they come over.
I did get more decorations out for the house and spent so much time moving boxes around that the tree never came out of the closet. Then we decided to see the dinosaurs yesterday at the museum. By the time we got home, the kids left and I went to bed!
