Nice! I still have yet to see my first. It could be soon! I'll keep my eyes peeled.
That's the beauty of the Season. When it comes, it's not over. It has depth -- 50 days of depth!.....I don't want to let this Christmas go that I can never look ahead. Then when it's over I feel like it's forever before it returns. cheesy
Maybe if I planned for next year I wouldn't miss Christmas so bad when it's over.
Sounds like a lovely MOnday... share some pics when you can! Here's to a great Monday for everyone. It was a shiver inducing 35 degrees F here this morning, but after our breakfast of buttered grits, toast, and eggs OH and can't forget the coffee; we got off to a good start. I will be posting pictures as soon as I am fully finished with all my decorating. Did things different this year and I must say it is beginning to look alot like Christmas. At least in my house. I still have to put the outside lights up and I am thinking about doing that tomorrow when we get into the 70's!!!! Hard to believe it is 46 and half days until Christmas. This year has flown by and I have enjoyed almost all of it. Mr. HJ said to wish everyone " A very merry Early Christmas." He is finally getting into the spirit when he realized I was pulling everything out to start my annual decorating party of one. Have a great day everyone.
Snow, yay!!! I love hearing about the snowfall - send some to PA!Chilly this morning, it was 26 when I left for work this morning. We had a couple of inches of snow this weekend. It was need to watch our high school football game in the snow on Friday.
LOL - I do that, too!!!!Is it bad that I am already starting to plan my decorations for next year and starting a list of things to look for on clearance after christmas?
Shopping the day after (and the DAYS after - when things go to 90% off at Target, someone better hold me back!) really helps me to start looking forward to next year!I always get depressed on christmas night when it is all over. Getting up early on the 26th and shopping for new decorations to put out the next year always helps me get over it fairly quickly though. cheesy
I just got all of my christmas decorations down from the attic expect for the tree. I have them all stacked at the end of my bed right now. I will start sneaking them out next weekend.
Continuity,,,,
That's what the defenders of the season believe in: continuity. All year long, we celebrate here and hang on to that which brings us joy- a commonality of purpose. The rest of the world catches up in late November.. but here, we celebrate with each other every day of the year. As the world continues to move faster, we hold on to traditions passed down for generations. As people move further and further from that which is right and good, we celebrate the time of the year when all appears just perfect. There are so few things that we can hold on to that never seem to change. Loved ones leave us, kids grow and leave home, we almost want to stop ourselves and forget that it is the season.. that which continues to bring us joy and laughter each year, that is the reason why we seek out each other.. almost anyonymously.. and year in.. year out, we share the magic that is Christmas and we....... continue.
and so it has come to this... 4 days until the season.

that's a great idea! But we still have 'second day of christmas' here, on the 26thI always get depressed on christmas night when it is all over. Getting up early on the 26th and shopping for new decorations to put out the next year always helps me get over it fairly quickly though.
