Christmas Countdown - 2010

I still need to upload tree pics but all my other pics are in one of my albums. It is labeled Christmas Deco 2010. I will be putting up the other pics this weekend. Just stopped in for a few today to see what was going on. Heading out to work shortly. AHHHHHHH I am now a working member of society. I hope this coffee kicks in soon because I am going to be a mess if it doesn't. LOL

Good morning Christmas family


Today is the premiere of Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows Part I. I am very excited. My sister and I are going to go see it or at least attempt it !!! We have seen all but the first movie together !!

With all the wonderful news about DJ and his Hodgkin's and with Christmas right around the corner I am very excited but still a little sad as I am fearing the worst for my kitty, Punkin'. She is just not doing good. She is now down to 5.9 pounds and stays most of the time in my room where I work on the back of the chez lounge. This is not like her. She usally is up and about somewhat. I keep giving her medicine to her every day (Lactulose) but it seems not to be helping much. I know she is 15 but it is still hard to see her like this. And if the decision comes to end her life I will feel like a murderer.

But for now she is still here. Perhaps she will turn the corner still and start getting better. She does not seem to be in pain or uncomfortable.

I am looking forward to putting up my tree on Thursday !! I have to work 3 hours that morning then I get to celebrate Thanksgiving but then before the evening is over I still have 2 more hours to work which is different from last year when they let me make up the time I took off the day after Thanksgiving. I am blessed to have a job I know that but I don't see why I MUST make up those other 2 hours on Thanksgiving evening. Even hospitals give their employees time off for a whole day on Thanksgiving. Oh well.

Day 2 of the move begins this afternoon at 3:30. The touchups where not done by the previous owner yet and they were supposed to be. Hopefully, they get done today because the carpenter who is doing them said he will be off all week next week. This has the potential to be disastrous!

My tree is up and done. Outside lights still need done (dunno if I am going to do them this year or not). I may not have too much time to do anything in December. I GOT JOB. I went to orientation today and got online earlier and they had a job posted for me. So yea 430AM wakeup call. Be at the school at 635-45 and in a classroom by 7am and off at 245pm. Wish me luck please. THese are middle schoolers. LOL

Today am having quite a good day, had an alright time at work, did a great workout, feel kind of like i catched a cold, and got lots of work done! I am going to have coffee with my brother (who lives) in Amsterdam, so that's nice... and boyfriend and i might catch Harry Potter this evening, I do hope so, but I also understand if boyfriend is tired, and wants to do it one time later... the movie will not walk away...

Another Friday means another milestone!!

5 WEEKS TO Xmas EVE!!

Can't believe how fast it's coming...soo much to do, and soo little time.....with a super busy weekend ahead.

Family get together tomorrow for my better half and my nephew's 2nd birthdays, plus seeing the new H.P. movie with my daughter then the Als Eastern final game on Sunday and more carpet cleaning for the big tree decorating party in 2 Weeks!!

With next week being U.S Turkey day, means more football on TV, but unfortunately not a day off for me. Those will come with a few fridays off in Dec.

Anyway, have a super weekend all!!

Well, the move hasn't started out very good. We only got one room moved because of unforeseen problems. Hopefully, I can get more done tomorrow. We will see!

Just 3 more real selling days for frozen turkeys, I am so ready to be done with them at this point. One of my trees has been up since Sunday and the kittens are absolutely destroying it, almost all of the decorations are ripped off, and the bead garland is being taken off, I am so frustrated with them for what they are doing to it.

I hate to give you the bad news but it will be a losing battle with the kitties. They will do that especially if they are under a year old. I have had cats all my life and every kitten destroyed our tree. Then they mature and lose interest. I have 2 cats right now and they leave the tree alone but not when they were kittens! I actually found humor in it all and just put up non breakable ornaments. I have found my kittens, on numerous occasions, climb on the upper branches and sleep in the tree. Also had a kitten who would get on a table and jump right in the middle of the tree and hang onto it while it fell to the ground. Instead of getting mad, I found myself laughing. Cats are so crazy that it's funny! The only way out of it is if you can keep the tree isolated away from them. Good luck!

I know how hard it is to see your furry family member suffer. You will not be a murderer if you have to end her life. If she is miserable and the quality of life is not good, it's the best decision. I understand it's VERY difficult to make that decision! I will be praying for you and Punkin.

Today is the girlie 10th birthday party for my daughter. She and her friends are going to a local salon to have their hair and nails done, then back to my mother-in-law's restaurant for a catered dinner. She can't wait!

Tomorrow, we're having the family over for grilled burgers at lunch, then birthday cake. Lotsa fun!

Another Hey! Our Raleigh Christmas parade is tomorrow morning. If you can pick up our WRAL (ABC) channel, you can see it on TV.
And it's a REAL, old-time Christmas parade, not a semi-rock Broadway stage show like the Macys "parade" has become.
They actually have marching bands playing Christmas music.
(Don't misunderstand, I still like and watch the Macys show, I just wish it was like it used to be back in the 70's and before, but then I guess I'm dating myself!)

My son has been going to basketball tryouts every afternoon this week. He's not very athletically inclined (just like his dad), but he made the team! Now we find out there's practice every day, games every other day, hundreds of dollars in expenses (private school athletics cost a LOT out of pocket)...and a lot of missed family time.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels this way. We're putting DD in karate lesson in December to help with her focus and to get some of her energy out in a positive way. They meet on Tuesday & Thursday at 5:30. I feel guilty about not wanting to mess up our schedule for her lessons, but I know it will be good for her! The cost shouldn't be too bad and I hope we all enjoy the expereince. This will be her first time (5 years old) at any extra activities.

Get a water gun and a fly swatter! It eventually worked for our cat. One year she tore off the entire bottom row of branches from the artificial tree. She got a beating for that one. We would let her roam the house freely when we were at home, but she stayed in the laundry room or basement when we were away or at bedtime, always having access to food, water, & litter box, with plenty of room to run around. In her last couple of years, she could have cared less about the tree, except she did like the ribbons & bows on the gifts. Last year was our first Christmas without her after she got sick. I kind of missed rounding her up every night!

As long as the kittens aren't eating the tree & decor, just try not to be too hard on them. They are like children, and eventually they will learn!

Good morning everyone.... Lastnight we had to make run to the store and onthe way saw a few house already decorated for Christmas with lights on. It was very nice, especially with the christmas music playing on the radio!!!! Hubby wants to get a new blow up for the front yard so we will be picking that up this weekend.

Good Afternoon everyone... lastnight we took the kids to the mall and guess who we saw with NO line.... SANTA!!! the kids got their santa picture done lastnight and since there were no other kids waiting Santa took his time with the kids anwsering their questions which was good as our son was full of questions for the big guy like where were his reindeer and Mrs. Claus. It was cute!
